This is appreciated, all too often those who have been in the industry and don't want to step from in front of the gate give you all these stipulations to being a "real" dj (y'all know exactly what I mean). Yes djs should be enthusiasts and just because they rip or use other avenues to build their crate doesn't mean they aren't ✌🏾❤️ Thanks Buzz
6:48 The "be selective" advice is so true. Believe it or not, two years ago I emailed Jazzy Jeff himself and simply asked for the title of a rare, exclusive song from Europe he played in one of his mixes. Not only did he respond within 48 hours, he gave it to me! 😂😂
I am personally all self taught and I still feel like I have no clue lol. I make my own mixes and post them here on TH-cam using the only method I know, and that’s converting my Spotify playlists through tidal and then into my serrato and deck. My issue is this is the most convenient way for me to play music cuz I can listen to tracks whenever and make playlists accordingly but at the same time I’m solely reliant on my internet connection so I can stream. How or where do I go to actually purchase or download my music so I’m not so reliant on internet connection to mix? Seems like a dumb question but I actually don’t know the most efficient way to play the music I love but bypass the streaming part, you know? I’m fully self taught no idea what I’m doing or the techniques but I love it and wanna be able to play a venue without relying on internet
As a wedding/graduation/traveling dj who plays everything from hip hop, classic rock, country, oldies, latin, old school etc... what's the best dj pool that just gives you regular original songs? I don't really want remixes I'm not a club dj. I dj for families and companies mostly so I just want original music. I remember I had a dj pool and I couldn't find the most popular music like The Weeknd, George Straight, or Micheal Jackson so I ended up deleting and unsubscribing from the dj pools
I hope u now that TH-cam is the realy bad for Musik becos they Cut of or increasing frequency or LPF/HPF idk exactly mostly the bass is to low and some other thinks .Its Better to use SoundClouds or other ....
What I’ve been doing lately, looking for music on other music platforms, get their name and track, and then see if Apple Music has it. Majority of the time they do, even a lot of the underground stuff.
Maybe explain why ripping from TH-cam or SoundCloud means ripping from TH-cam’s compression and you can’t get that quality back. Due diligence isn’t ripping from these sources. DJs should be music enthusiasts first and have their own music library. Getting paid to DJ leaves no excuse not to support the artists and labels who release music you care about.
If you plan to play at a private event ripping songs is ok. But if you are going to a festival, concert, or public event never do it. Trust me the label or artist will find out and they will sue you for every dollar you made that day.
😂😂😂😂😂 No, they will not. They do not have time to sue some small DJ playing ripped tracks... ARE YOU SERIOUS?The label, not the artist, will come after you, if anything. Have you ever gotten a warning from social media accounts muting your videos by artist request? Stop the foolishness!
Lmao.. sorry but ripping music is terrible advice.. music is sooooo cheap, and easy accessible nowadays.. so your comment is almost as horrible then your “320kb” sounding ripped music….
I'm not a professional Dj ,I'm a retired x truck driver trying to make some extra money birthday party small can you send me some hip hop creates. Please 🙏
For me I sacrificed $100 and got the lifetime way to d/l from two music streaming services don't want the list their names but S and A are their starting letters. I know the sound quality would be a lil better than TH-cam music videos. Been using the for 4 years now. Tip: get TH-cam premium and use TH-cam music they have better sound quality than TH-cam itself. Lol it I helped 😀
I will say it again. I guarantee that i can join 50 record pools and they will NOT have the songs YT has. You cant find old Calypso, studio one, channel one, old soca, etc that YT has. I doh care what none or all of you say!!! Pools good for new ish and popular tracks not for old school DJ's especially Caribbean..
I'm going to tell y'all something about that music off of TH-cam I was at a gig I was playing the music the company script the music off my Cerrado put a Blocker on my music they left phone number to call 1-800 I owe the money for the music i used don't have your internet on because they can scan look on your computer and block you out no DJ you better be careful Sony music hit my pockets😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢$$$$$$$$?
@@gatchmanphoenix1418 Because you’re ripping an already compressed file to a new compressed file. So the sound quality will suffer. If you take DJ’ing serious this is a joke. And it’s illegal of course. So for me it’s a big NO! Sometimes i’m just amazed at how little some DJ’s know about audio files.
As a DJ for 17 years, and the rate music is released and the short attention span of the consumer, I am not sure why you think this is hilarious. As a DJ we are the biggest promoters of artist music. Free promotion at that. In todays age it is impossible to keep up with the very latest trends and music without ripping it. so many indie artist and underground artists that create massive hits that can only be found on youtube and tiktok. I will tell you that I am affiliated and know many Radio, Concert, large scale DJs that rip from all different sources.

I'm sorry, but telling DJ's to rip music from TH-cam is just hilarious.
Why?
