I remember the best strategy was just to take out the red base and build up from there. The starting area is too vulnerable to attacks from dragons and death knights. I usually only start building up a base once I cleared the red one
Probably, but I just struggled thru it lol, til i had mages, and they cleared out the enemy bases guards. AI has a tons of units stacked near town centers.
1) Not building enough peasants 2) Attacking units into guard towers when you have ballistas 3) Ballistas killing your own units due to poor control 4) 25,000 gold and you are still not upgrading weapons and armor

yeah, not doing that good. But I do enjoy the game :)
