Fun fact: Oda clan became the shogunate leaders in Japan back then, Oda Nobunaga faced his death before his clan managed to finally set a full control on Japan.
Only because some clueless general betrayed and assassinated him in mad aspirations of becoming Shogun. And to this day I see people joking that Tokugawa is the real-life victor despite being so shit ingame. Yeah he's the real victor but he was piggybacking on Oda Nobunaga's back for most of it
Actually Nobunaga was never Shogun (if I have my facts right) what he did was put a puppet Ashikaga shogun and named himself Chancellor of the Realm. So at the end he controlled the Shogun and the Emperor. Toyotoma Hideyoshi was also never a shogun but held the same title. So when Tokugawa Ieyasu took power, he claimed the title of Shogun then retired so there would be no succession controversy
@@BenersantheBread Tokugawa backed Nobunaga a lot. The name “Tokugawa” wasn’t his birthday name. He changed his birth name due to his allegiance to Nobunaga (his birth name has allegiance to Nobunaga’s enemies).
Honestly it's kinda shocking how low effort the cutscenes are. Like for most cutscenes every soldier shown has default colours and a completely blank flag. It's like they intended to overlay your clan's colours on them but never got around to it.

@@BenersantheBread I wouldn't really say piggybacking since he did quite a lot for Nobunaga and saved his life on a lot of occasions.

De aruka
The statue of Oda Nobunaga playing Noh show
I don't care what history says, this is the canon ending. Oda is the only one who sounds truly excited to be the one true ruler of Japan
