Smile Flower is a song Woozi made when he started having fears of losing seventeen. Like disbandment and stuff like that. He was going through something and that fear crept in him, causing him to create this song as a promise that they'll be together. And it became a reassurance for us too. And now this is our main fan song. Together with Us, Again.
fun fact, though the choreo isn't shown in full in that particular performance, fast pace is one of the first choreos hoshi ever made! i definitely recommend watching a stage with the choreo even if just in your own time, it's one of my favourites

Smile Flower is really a special song for both Members and Carats..Jihoon made Smile Flower dedicated to the member, and whenever the guitar sounds comes off.. Members know they'll be in tears again 😭❤️ it's just really really a special song for us
Smile Flower was a song that Woozi wrote to the other members because he had a hard time expressing to them how much he loved them and cared about them. Most fans don't know this was the real origin of the song and they think the song was about them but actually the song written for the fans is actually Thanks. A lot of Seventeen songs are about their interactions and love for their fans but Thanks is actually the true first song completely written and dedicated to the fans.
I think it's probably like that because he's told carats to listen to it when they're feeling down or worried about things as well, so people have seen that and assumed that's all there is to it.

At first I thought smile flower was for carats but it turns out that it was for members. Woozi wrote smile flower for members and it made me cry more🥲🥲
GOING SEVENTEEN is one of their best albums. I personally loved every single track inside it and the emotions, the lyrics 💕💕💕

Hey I just came accross another live performance of FAST PACE from their Power of Love concert. This one has female dancers dancing with some of them, w/c was quite a shock to me, as this was the first time I watched them with female dancers as partners.
I really love the way you planned your reaction to their albums by watching lyrics videos and live performances. ( others just listen)

By the way, I agree with other commenters that you should watch Fast Pace 12 vs. 1 choreography. Too bad they did not make a dance practice for it, but you can watch their comeback performance from MBC Show Champion on your own.
The Kermit is for The8! Like Hoshi is a tiger, The8 is a froggie. :3 They have an entire performance of "Without you" where The8 couldn't make it so they replaced him with a stuffed kermit the frog.
Someone did a mixed version of "Fast Pace" and "Light a Flame". I don't think I will EVER recover.

that frog is an inside joke since the8 likes frogs so much and frog symbolizes the8 i guess😂 not quite sure about this but yeah and seventeen have a lot of sad break up songs. And during the ode to you world tour, seventeen has a documentary called 'hit the road' and it's like the behind the scene of their tour which made that smile flower performance more special.

P.S : They actually have a nice performance of boomboom in KBS festival 2017(?) and it's really a good performance with some of their songs, but i think it will be best for you to react on their next album first, which is the AL1(alone) and it's the next album after going seventeen, im looking forward to your AL1 album reaction since it's one of my fave album of seventeen
Long post!!! It’s been a while for me lol.
I’m OT13 but my Ult is Seungkwan and my sub Ult is Hoshi with everyone else constantly vying for the Ult/bias wrecker position. It’s so hard in this group. Those two for me are how you talk about (Your Ult) Dino and (Your sub Ult-I believe) Seungkwan. Basically my eyes always first go in to and listen to Seungkwan first then I seek out Hoshi (who btw became my sub ult after I saw them live-Seriosuly his stage presence is ridiculous)
After that it’s a constant rotation of the other members (Mingyu and Scoups and Dino kill me)……actually I could probably continue posting how amazing each member is in this paragraph but my point is many carats have multiple ults or sub ults or however you want to identify your love.
Beautiful is gorgeous AND Dino being the bridge is always my favorite but him sharing it in the OT13 version with Wonwoo always has me 😭
Fast pace is so underrated- I couldn’t wait for you to get to the live performance and I wasn’t disappointed 🤣 When Woozi dragged his hand up his mic and you were like ‘no!’ I was laughing my ass off. Great expressions through that performance, had me cackling.

I'm sooo looking forward to your reaction to their next 3 albums (Al1, Teen, Age & You Make My Day) those are my 3 favorite albums by them because they're a lot more dance-pop influenced than most of their albums and they released them back to back. They were on a ROLL. I think you'll like An Ode too since we seem to have similar taste but that's a little more down the line.

I saw that someone already answered your question regarding kermit but I'll add some more information just because I can lmao: so frogs in general, but also kermit the frog especially, is a hao thing. jun has minghao saved as the frog emoji on his phone, minghao has a kermit the frog bag that he uses a lot, the boys have also used a kermit the frog plushie when minghao couldn't attend as his stand-in. it's hilarious!

This Album! This is one HIGHLY underrated Album. All the tracks here are *chef's kiss* (Even BoomBoom who isn't a memorable main track compared to next one they put out, it still slaps.)
also I Don't Know (a Top Tier Song imo) was only performed live ONCE and that's during MAMA Awards 2017 in Vietnam.

Fast pace lyrics needs more attention really. At first I thought it was just another song with lowkey sad lyrics with a sexy sound but it turned out to be extremely sad and heart emptying and confusing lyrics that talk about an awkward stage of an almost-ending relationship that not many idols talk about, with a sexy sound lol. It's pretty obvious that they're talking about how their partners are walking too fast and they're falling behind, but since she's walking fast the relationship is ending without them being able to catch up, but they don't keep it to simple lyrics, they reaaally explore every single metaphor and scenario possible to be used, like reaching the end of the tunnel but pretending that's not the case. Woozi, scoups, vernon and hoshi really went all out with the emotions. Ugh we need more songs like this.

i would recommend not simping too much (looking at abs etc) on seventeen's old videos bc some of them were minors at the time. ive noticed this in some of your videos. no harm tho, some people just find it weird sometimes. i always love your content.

I heard somewhere that Smile Flower was made by Woozi for Seventeen because he had thoughts about them parting ways in the future (not sure if this is accurate information). But whenever I hear this song, my heart aches and I tear up 😭 I kinda related it to my friendship with my childhood friends because I thought of us drifting apart and parting ways as we grow older and get more busy with our lives, so this song really hit me hard 😭😭

could you like react to the newer performances rather than the older ones? cuz tbh for example like with say yes, don't liisten in a secret and fast pace the old performances don't give the song justice as much as the newer ones. they have improved so much in every aspect and imo you will get to appriciate the newer ones a lot more. just a suggestion ;)

About Kermit or anything related to frogs, it's about Minghao (the8). He really likes frogs and he embraces his love of frogs in his social media. He's saved as frog in juns phone contacts 😂😂 when he was out due to his health or other schedules, svt used to bring a Kermit the frogs doll to represent him when they are at fanmeets or singing for fans. They did it too for wonwoo when he was out for health reasons. His doll is a fox with glasses, you can see him in the aju nice dance practice video, standing in the middle to center the group.
