Great video! As someone who does a little bit of sherpaing myself, you really do need the patience of a saint to get through the many obstacles that LFG throws at you. It is taxing, but worth it in the end when you've helped everyone out. That Ecthar fight was hilarious btw - half his health gone before your teammates even saw the boss lmfao. Bonus points for Calamity mod music, very epic.
Funny you mentioned RoN. That was the latest fireteam finder lfg I tried when I wanted to farm Conditional Finality. I had done the encounter before and just wanted another group to farm with. I specifically looked for a 'be chill' post without kwtd because I had only done the encounter for the farm and just learned one tiny role. I asked to join, said I'd bring a well (pre nerf) and when I joined the vc the first thing I heard was: "Why did you kick him?" "He kept messing up and I don't have time to waste." "But he's your friend..?" Uh.. very chill group obviously. The group leader then turned his attention to me asking if I kwtd. I said I could take care of the adds in mid and create refuge and I knew where to set up well for damage. Didn't even get a reply, just found myself back in orbit. I'm by no means a slow learner. Just ran 1st GoS encounter for red border farm for the 1st time and we 4 manned it. I did all encounters but Golgoroth the 1st time in Pantheon runs and we completed the first two gauntlets (later gauntlets were impossible cause we started late due to lack of people playing and the activity went away.) I think experiences like what I described are part of the reason many people won't say if they don't kwtd but pretend they do instead. As for me, I don't really want to lfg anymore outside of some discords. At least there people are held accountable for toxic behaviour by the mods.

The amount of times I’ve uttered “If at ANY POINT you don’t know what’s going on, just let me know and I’ll walk you through it,” trying to teach people SE and being met with silence followed by people going in and out of the fireteam with zero progress being made because people aren’t letting me fill the gaps in their knowledge is absurd. It’s so tough to lure people out of their shells when they’ve had bad experiences or are downright terrified of being met with that response, but also at the same time, I wish people could apply the logic that, if I got a team with no prior experience through every encounter before verity, I’m not going to kick someone for taking *slightly* longer to understand a significantly harder encounter. Also side note: Bungie really takes a lot of the blame for all the people who’ve never done a raid getting lured into pantheon. It was free, in the new destination with all the flashy lights, and had a weekly popup every week with cool, enticing messages rather than something like “This is a challenging activity, not recommended for those are unfamiliar with raids.” It probably wouldn’t have made the biggest difference but I could’ve weeded out some people who honestly didn’t know and were just following the cool “Godslayer” title they saw content creators and other people getting. This is something, in my opinion, still needs work honestly, as having the only indicator of difficulty (besides some hidden text saying something about raids being a massive test of communication and teamwork) is the stupid 4-skill difficulty rating, where every raid is 2? In terms of raw enemy difficulty, it is, but for someone coming out of The Final Shape campaign who’s never done a raid and seeing Salvation’s Edge as a 2-difficulty activity? It’s gonna be absolutely brutal, if it’s even possible and they can get over the hump of dying to witness, which I’ve noticed lots of people still struggle to improve with after *hours* of attempts.
dps elitists are the worst, just cos I'm using div and cenotaph doesn't mean I have to have just as much dps as someone with still hunt and celestial nighthawk like they just forget that some people work better as a support for the entire team than being just another clone of a high dps guy
My main gripe with lfg pantheon is that so many people would go in without having a clue what to do, it would have been appreciated if these people took 40 minutes or so to watch a video guide so that they could at least have some clue of whats going on, or at least TELL SOMEONE if you dont know what youre doing.
I had joined a warlords ruin today on lfg they just killed 1st boss they was struggle so I typed in chat for them to tell me the number by the skeleton and I will help them but they said nothing tried 4 times failed then quit and left
As a raid sherpa its not as bad as dungeons but we get some hard hard walls to break down with some group i 5 man sherpa alot and when i get 5 add clear andys its bad but im chill about how long i sit in a raid as long as people want to learn. On a side note for 2 i am a sweat i will use the meta and try to crank out my damage but i use it a skill test for me and im excited when i hit a pb on my damage. Now on to other people i only question loadouts if its something obviously bad ie darci or a side arm for boss damage but if your doing more then shooting a primary for damage im fine now if were failing on damage checks ill suggest like 7 things they can use to help there damage maby fix up there build and mods but im usally fine with whatever they want

Great video, coundlt agree more with a lot of your points, but if you can next time lower the music a bit, sometimes it got a bit too loud for me and it was hard listening to what you had to say, especially at the beginning or on parts that had a lot of stuff going on ingame
IMO everytime i use the fireteam finder i dont have much problem with it. IE if it says mic required or you put it as a mic required most people that join have a mic. I like to teach but there are some things were you dont need to talk at all tbh
To be honest I just found this channel but it almost felt like this guy interviewed a lot of us Sherpas or ripped the info straight from my head I felt every bullet point in my soul my guy needs and deserves more subs 🫡

This is why I stopped playing Destiny as much. Way to many toxic think they know it all. Wont lie usually those toxic people are the issue.
