Cliffe Fort is a disused artillery fort built in the 1860s to guard the entrance to the Thames from seaborne attack. Constructed during a period of tension with France, it stands on the south bank of the river at the entrance to Cliffe Creek in the Cliffe marshes on the Hoo Peninsula in North Kent, England.

Couldn't agree more ❤
Just bloody awesome so loved this! Well done to all! Especially custard she is a star! Thank you ❤❤❤
She did well! Cheers Maz, hope you and Elsa have a good week
Long trek to see something that most will never see or appreciate. It's amazing how nature is reclaiming it. Thank you for bringing this piece of history to us. Stay safe.
Oh yeah.
I know that place. Went there regularly before the ballast belts started encroaching. It was never fenced off & it was never flooded. The ballast mob banked up the east ground level so they could pile shingle, so there was nowhere for the area to drain. It is a Napoleonic fort, but was also utilised in the 1st & 2nd World Wars as a barracks, a river defence & anti-aircraft position.
Thanks for info. I figured at least WW1 but Napoleonic wow. I am from US and love learning history. These guys are my favorite urbex explorers.
Only time I turn the TV off is for the 3 amigos lol
Oh yeah,Sunday night viewing is booked
When John fell over and said "watch the pothole" I imagined ray saying what pot hole and immediately falling in like Maggie Simpson and face planting lmao 🤣
I saw IKS do that fort about a year or two ago and they wore waders to explore the ground level! Thank you for the explore, still the same except for there being more graffiti, still a wetlands! 😮 Gorgeous countryside! From Oklahoma, USA with love!❤
Just watched. My Monday morning treat. Thank you. Loved it, what a treak though. Its amazing what is left over from the war. Ed is a true gentleman helping the girl over the fence. Love you all. Sue from Hampshire
Omg Alex getting the exercise in on this one 😂
@debbiefigures9323 I dread to think the amount of steps for this one!
Thoroughly enjoyed this fab find, the entertainment you provide is great, little nervous for you all as some parts looked dangerous but loved it, lovely to see cu3tard with you and well done to her navigating her way around. 💕
When someone says it's not far means it's far far away lol 😄
Getting in there was like solving a giant puzzle, well done. The surrounding dark water with the dead trees doesn't look very inviting. Looking at those very large rings in the wall you'd almost expect to see a set of shackles. Interesting place.
Can't wait guy's fed up at watching football rather watch Vacant haven see you soon guy's 🤙🤟🤘
@fayking9811 Come on England!!! 😉👍
Ahhh I needed more sad the videos over I mean that place was efin awesome!! 😮I can't believe it's just sitting there looking like that thanks again Vacanthaven 😎💓👍
Thank you guys I loved it great to see something so old watching you guys is like having a history lesson thank you for showing how life was .a great Sunday again with you lot thank you see you next week 😊🤗
Looks like the old abandoned fort in the small village I was born in, so will definitely be watching.
That was in good shape considering it was two hundred years old . You can't hold Mother Nature back she takes over and gets it all in the end . Thanks for the explore , a chance to see something that would have been impossible without the Vacant Haven crew . A big thank you to you all , you did a splendid job ,Till next time BIG LOVE , God Bless , Stuart in Canada ..
@stuartfletcher2378 thanks Stuart, it was well worth the trek to it!
Glad you enjoyed this adventure 👍
Terrific explore and beautiful countryside. Takes me back to my youth - I'm 82 now and still love Urbexing. Thanks for keeping them coming - your content just gets better and better. Take care guys.
Hi Alex. Nice to see you with the guys it looked quite a long trek custed cream did realy well she gave you guys a run for money i bet that was quite a place in its day shame ned was not with you all brilliant liked this one a lot thank-you ❤❤😊
Thank-you 🤘
Wrong way in! Still great explore! 205 year old fort. I watched Steve's version yesterday.
@@jimmime We know that now! 😉👍
Great video! Loved the Safari!❤
The gangs all here minus Ned unfortunately. You guys are upping your game, had to work for it on this adventure. Can't get to the destination with the journey. Well done all. Love how nature reclaims the land. Cheers.
Eddy and Alex proved pathfinders still exist, good stuff.
Absolutely brilliant! Eddie sets the pace, good on him 😂❤
That fort is a very interesting find. Thanks guys for showing us this place.
Awesome group this week🎉
Cheers mate from Perth Australia 🇦🇺 👊
You really took the long way to get into Cliffe Fort. Bring some waders/ abseiling gear next time for the underground bits at low tide.
Toronto 💕 itttt well done ✅😊😂❤ daylight singing Hills off 🎵🎶 music
in Canada we had Takeshis castle but it was called MXC most extreme elimination challenge. It was dubbed over with lots of profanity and innuendo and they cut the footage differently. amazing show, strongly recommend you check it out. the "safety fluid" (water) was donated by some hilarious disgusting source each time like medical waste or farm runnoff.
Those pipes over the ditch was straight out of that show. awesome reference
That was really cool to see. Thanks for taking us all along. Much love to you all ❤😊
Yeah, I know where this is, was born near there...never went to the Fort myself, so enjoying!
That first structure you and Steve first looked at with four sectors is the remains of a cement kiln.
What a great explore. Love that you use the storror whistle, you know the intro. 👍😂
The torpedo can be seen in the Royal Engineers Museum in Chatham. Saw it about 15 years ago, so it should still be there.
😮That place looks so dangerous, especially for the kids who hang out there, but I wonder if the water would be a good place for magnet fishing.
I think this explore was your best one yet!
👀👍 Till Then. ...Good morning from the American west coast ~Jekyll the Hyde.
That was a really cool place really good explore guys really enjoyed watching it 😊see you in the next one , have a good week stay safe ❤😊
Nice explore everyone fun to come along cheers 😊
Hi Alex. Really enjoyed this explore with quite a few laughs. Love the saying 'follow Ed and your dead' lol. Good to see Steve and Ray along with you and Ed and John Bengle and the young lady. Was quite the trek but was worth seeing when you got there. Can always feel safe when you are carrying us up ladders and over walls and through tunnels. Brilliant video thanks Alex xxx
carnt wait , sunday night viewing , stay safe guys
That looks fantastic😊
Hi from 🇨🇦.What an amazing place .
That was a great explore. Thanks! See ya next Sunday😊
Another brilliant fortification captured for the archives .., soon i fear most of it will be under water if them diggers dont stop removing the mud from around it ...!?
love the old forts cheers for another explore ...., EAR MoOSH Lo0k at this !!!! ......Tell Pompeys proper Pompey ? ?!!..
That was really great, great exploration, best on the internet!
Amazing fort to explore. Those things that you thought were mounds, they would have been used as machine gun posts during the second world war. They would have been positioned near anti aircraft guns.
Omg never follow ED as u say 😂an adventure to get to the adventure 😂funny it’s a good job u haven’t got to make a quick getaway 😂top vid guys x❤

Hi guys I'm in stitches watching you getting to your destination .
Nice water.I love water scenes.
Random round thing in the ceiling probably a raising point for a large gun replacement, 2nd ww retrofit guns would raise fire then drop reload and raise and fire again
miss Ned, he makes me laugh, eddie is a riot as well may i ask what Eddie's profession? like his day job? we have a wager going here lol
Omg held my breath thru some of this glad you all got out ok
If I was security I wouldn't chase you. I would wait for you to come towards me. Lol
Great explore. Bit painful watching Steve climb at times.🍻🇨🇦

💜💜💜
Holy shitballs thank you guys!!!
Most importantly you've got Edd big star
👍😊
What was this? U guys have a lot of guts.U don't know what kind of snakes are around.
@donnasilver940 this was a Fort Built in the early 1800s to defend the Thames in to London, we were at war with France back then!
War never changes......
@@VacantHaven Even so that's a piece of history.Cool
Is that much effort really worth it? Someone could get seriously hurt.
Would you ever tour scotland ?
