I believe hooks as important as they are in Jigging, are not really discussed much. The videos you see on youtube are more commercial advertisements for brands and offer very little insight about what you need to buy for the jigs you have - either choosing different brands or choosing the right hooks to build your own assist hooks with.
This video will hopefully help you understand more and will help you choose better hooks, either to make assist hooks or just buying the right assembly for your needs.
So here are 10 tips to choose hooks for your jigging assists.

You said Rig the assist hook on slow jig at the flat part. But, shouldn't it turn since it is connected with a ring?
It wont, it stays on too coz the heavy part ( the not flat part) always stays on the bottom.
@@TheFishingKit i ment the assist hook supposedly would turn almost 360 because it is connected with a split ring to the jig regardless of the side right?
@@yehyamneimne if its a slow jig, it will only be on one side. a fast jig is rigged differently and if you have two hooks, its one hook for each side.
