  • With an increase in the use of mobile phones, laptops, air conditioners and many other electronic appliances, managing E-waste or electronic waste is becoming a hassle. To tackle the seriousness of this problem, Akshay Jain started NaMo E-Waste that specialises in e-waste management. From its inception till date, NaMo E-waste has managed to recycle 6,000 tonnes of e-waste.

    This E-Waste problem should be made more available to mass audiences in the coming future as the current mobile phone trends are going to create a huge issue in the near future and i hope many people get awareness regarding the 3R's and the way electronics and electrical appliances should be used.
    Thanks a lot Mr. Akshay and Discovery for helping me in my project work!

    E-waste recycling is somewhat more advanced in India than it is in Shanghai or Africa where they just burn just about everything to get something they can trade in. India has something in the way of regulatory standards which some of the more enlightened entrepreneurs tend to be guided by.

    Happy to see a documentary that also shows people doing the right thing by properly recycling electronics. I also own an electronics recycling center and I do my best to recycle and separate all the commodity value items all while refurbishing whatever can be refurbished. I recently started making videos to this regards and would greatly appreciate the support to my channel!

      I had a question! Can we make raw materials of new electronic goods from the recycled e waste?

    • @AramJoseph
      @AramJoseph 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@omthakkar7801 Absolutely, when the items are sent to the sorting facilities, they are shred to bits and separated to their essential materials. Form there, they are sent overseas where they are melted (or something along those lines) to form new products that may not necessarily be electronics.

    It's good that we see all those stacks of aluminium bars, but in reality those only cover the operation costs. The profit comes from what we didn't see in the video, a few bars of silver, platinum, gold and other precious metals :)
