I've just completed a library of all the great literary works with a combination of Easton Press, Franklin Oxford and Folio Society high end and limited edition books... many worth over $1000 ... and now I'm obsessed with preserving it for generations to come... wish there was more content like this on TH-cam.
You and me both! I have only recently gotten into building my library with some very nice HC and leatherbound classics and I want to make sure they last a loooooong time.
The Babylon Bee T shirt is super. I laughed and laughed...and I love the Babylon Bee Videos. The books and the book information was SUPER. Thanks. Doctor George Whitehead
Thank you for this! As with other viewers, I wish there were more channels addressing how to actually treat books correctly so that we aren't damaging our beloved collection.
You know what the best thing about a book is besides the contents? The smell. I love how a new book smells but older books and manuscripts have an almost nutty and musty scent that permeates the mind with the captured memories of history!
Would that method eventually damage the pages, especially if they are tightly shelved? You probably recommend not tightly shelving books, but sometimes there just isn't enough room. Maybe you have done this before, but is putting books upright the best way, or is laying them down better? Thanks.

Make a video on the library we would love to see the collection:)

Kein Buchliebhaber würde sich Bücher von Franklin Oxford ins Regal stellen. Egal, wie teuer die sind. 😂😂😂 Das verrät Ihren schlechten Geschmack...
@@spackretired 😂
This is such an underrated video

I usually put a piece of ribbon in the book leave about one inch out, long enough in the book , pull the ribbon to remove it from the shelf.
Was that a rare 1st edition copy of The Grave Below!
It sure was!
I was standing on my hands yeling towards the bookcase to "LET GO OF THE BOOK!"
This works too.
I am forever changed.
No idea how this video got recommended to me but I apprecaite it!!
Books?

It should not damage the pages. Shelving too tightly causes splay, which I have also done a video about:

What about books that are too tall to reach an arm over?
Yes, that can be a challenge.
Put them in-between shorter books. This is also informative: th-cam.com/video/nvK6nar4_94/w-d-xo.html
Use a step ladder.
Thanks
Thank you! I've been completely fuckin up... But I shall no longer, thanks to you!
👁👁 Good to know …
I've been doing wrong all these years 🙂
How she grabbed some of the books off the shelf was one of the sadest things I have ever seen. Must be a spine bender
Take a look, it's in a book.
