Living in a third world country, I never thought the day would come when I would say that we have a lot of problems, but we have more personal freedom than Americans. I'm getting really worried about America.

If had some humility, we'd overlook it. If he just said, "I answered the question poorly. I didn't have an answer at the time and gave a generic response. I shouldn't have said that I have a policy coming because I do not support any policy restricting contraceptives." Then we'd all be like.. yeah, I get it. People say stupid sh* sometimes. I remember that As late as the early 1990s Southern Ireland had a complete ban on reproductive rights. Even condoms had to smuggled in and where illegal. That's a risk, and of course Trump is a nightmare, but I think that this particular issue demonstrates that we really, really need to end the lifetime appointments that Federal judges enjoy. There are lots of mechanisms available to encourage judicial independence, and despite what they might think of themselves there is not a single Supreme Court justice who is irreplaceable, there never has been, and there never will be.

I left my local Rotary meeting tonight after hearing from one of our county commissioners who had previously been our town mayor while supporting himself and his family running two entrepreneurial businesses of his own. I used to proudly tell my “city family” about how our “computer guru” and “rodent control” guy was also our mayor. The news he had for us about what is happening in our communities and how these accomplishments came about not only made me proud but gave me a good boost of hope for our future. He’s a young man in his early 30’s. Extremely energetic and intelligent. His Veteran father was with him and offered some insight into his history.
I truly believe this is where it starts. We need more people like him. It gives me hope ❣️

It's worth remembering that an organization held a meeting (video was recorded) in January in Granbury, Texas with elected officials present (who were not pushing back) advocating for the death penalty from the point of fertilization (before even implantation) for practices ranging from the morning after pill to IVF and regardless of rape, incest, or age.
That organization is spectacularly ignorant of how the human reproductive system works, and more importantly they fully believe that every fertilized egg results in pregnancy despite the fact that 99.8% are usually flushed out by a woman's menstrual flow. Fairly certain the elected officials were being polite (it's a thing here in Texas) by hearing them out and promising to look into it.
Nothing is gong to come of this because you'd be basically criminalizing the human body. Not to mention, if they're Christians (or at least pretending to be), they'd be disrespecting the creation of their God. Not of course that that ever stops them from opening mouths and inserting feet up to the hip.
Would it be possible to name that organization? It'll help the rest of us in keeping an eye on them and how much influence they peddle among politicians.

We've been hearing a great deal about women's choices and rights in the US, but what about those of American men? If contraceptives for women are banned, then it should follow that vasectomies should be as well!
