    So this video was awesome for helping me to figure out why my fancy vacuum suddenly stopped working. It turned out to be the first problem with the dirty filter. But I just wanted to add a few comments from my own troubleshooting.
    1) If you are trying to diagnose which of the two problems it is, disconnect all of the accessories from the vacuum unit. If the problem persists, it must be the filter.
    2) If, like me, waiting for the filter to dry out is unacceptable, and you'd rather spend the money for a new filter on blackjack and strippers, you can restore life to it very quickly by blowing compressed air through the filter. Make sure you do it outside as every piece of fine dust you ever vacuumed will come flying out.
    If you don't have an air compressor like me, you can pick up cans of compressed air at any electronics-y store. You could also try whaling on a bike pump for ultimate low cost cleaning.

    This was the third video I watched on this problem and the one that solved my problem. A small piece of plastic wrapping material had been suched up into the vacuum head and blocked the air flow. Pulled it out with shears, got the other stuff out and presto! it worked. Thank you so much. It's good to find someone who knows what they're talking about. Five stars!

    Thank you so much for this video! I had checked the filter, and looked inside the head, but couldnt see anything. When I removed the head, though, I found so much! It must've started with a leaf, and just kept piling up from there. I would never have saw the mess without your video. You Rock!

    Wow, thank you for this life-transforming video! I gave literally no thought to ever changing my filter because it didn't look dirty. But, low and behold, when I put a new one in, not only did it stop the pulsing, it suddenly was sucking things up better than ever!

    After owning my V7 for several years on my third battery, I was shocked to discover this pickup design. It's an accident waiting to happen. Also discovered that Dyson designed this pulsating feature to prevent the motor from overheating and sefl destructing. Great video!:)-John in Texas

    Thank you, sorted my problem. I tried everything all but the filter as I recently washed it. Gave it a wipe over with a dry cloth and happy to say it's working fine now.

    Thank you for the video. I have watched others trying to figure out the pulsing problem. I cleaned the filters and still did the pulsing. I put one of the small attachments on and no pulsing, so after your video, figured it must be the suction port. I looked at the underneath side and it needs cleaned. Praying that takes care of my problem. I was already looking for a replacement vacuum.

    What if the pulsing only happens when ANY attachment is added on. Vacuum sucks fine on its own but as soon as I had any of the attachments, it pulses. I've cleaned every attachment. Could it be a connectivity issue?

  • @taylorfradsham1691
    @taylorfradsham1691 ปีที่แล้ว

    So what happens if you cleaned the entire vacuum, and you waited 24-48 hours for the filters to dry and it works fine with the top filter alone but it won’t work as soon as a put on the back filter? I have nothing attached to it.

  • @drmaasden
    @drmaasden 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I didn't know about that filter. (REAL men don't need no stinkin' instructions!!🤣)
    I thought the battery was causing it, and got a new one. It was better, but it still pulsated on high speed.
    I wasn't sure what the blue thing was. I thought it might have been a filter, but it didn't look dusty or dirty.
    But I pulled it out and rinsed it under the tap. The wash water didn't look particularly dirty, but once I put it back in (I didn't wait for it to dry), away she went!
    Pulsing cured, and MUCH quieter.
    Anyway, I don't think the drying step is necessary.

      Same here. I spent $35 for a new (knockoff) battery. My wife went to use it and did the same thing after 20 seconds of use. I actually took the filter apart so that I could get better flow of water through it. The water was very dirty. I'm waiting for the filter to dry. I put it on the register so I won't have to wait 24 hours.

    ok so, my filter is clean, nothing is clogging the tube, without attachments the vacuum is fine , it only does that when the roller and tube are connected, if I connect the roller without the tube is fine, if I connect the tube without the roller is fine, but both together it does not work.
