    Thank you for doing this. It really helps. I bought my car two months ago and the seats are beige and now stained. So I need to change the seat covers to a darker version. Thanks again.

    I got my seat cover but didn't stall it yet, toyota was charging me for $500 more dollars to stall it, that's a lot of money, I will try to stall it, thank you sir for the video, I hope we can do it.

    Thank you Phil for showing the installation. I was wondering if you ever got seat covers for the rear seats?

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I didn't. Nobody ever sits back there so I don't need it.

    Why did you cover the oem seats? They are very nice looking. The fit isn’t good. I wouldn’t put them in my RAV4. I enjoy your videos.

      Mostly to catch the dirt and occasional spillage of coffee. I agree the OEM seats are pretty nice, but I've lived with seat covers for that past 10 years on other cars so, old habit I guess? 🙂

    Thanks for your detailed review! Did you consider leatherette seat covers for your Prime? I will pickup my prime SE the end of November and have been researching covers that look more like leather as that didn’t come with the SE trim obviously. I haven’t been successful in finding any that are made for the RAV4 prime itself though. Your video definitely helped highlight the pros and cons of these seat covers in general. It probably won’t ever be an exact, perfect fit, but if it looks nice and is livable I guess that’s what matters. Interested to hear if you’re still happy with your seat covers.

      No, I didn't. If be interested to know if you get them!

      Did you end up finding any other covers you liked? I just got my prime and need some myself

    • @maaike3259
      @maaike3259 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@e7thstar I never did find seat covers that I thought were going to look good. Katzkin is probably the best option as they install for you but they’re very expensive, and they remove the existing cloth altogether. I wasn’t prepared to make that large of a change. 9 months into owning my Prime and I don’t really mind the cloth seats.

      @@maaike3259 thank you for your reply. I do think the black cloth with red stitching looks nice, but I guess I'll have to settle for some cheap ones to protect against passengers. I'm afraid of the seats getting dirty more than anything :[

    hey Phil. great video! did you also purchase the rear seat covers? I am currently in the market for covers

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, just the fronts. I think I've had back seat passengers maybe 3 times in the last 16 months! No pets to sit there either.

    I would remove them and return it. You did good job on this video but those seat covers no go.

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, they aren't the best covers i have had, but they're ok. I might get new ones maybe after another year or two. Thanks for watching and for your comments!

    You might have the issues with heated seats and air bags?

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have slots on the sides where the airbag is on the seat back. Haven't noticed any real problem with the seat heaters (yet). Thanks for watching!

    Ok what about the bench rear seats?

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No one ever sits back there, so not going to happen for me.

    How does your driver side seat cover cope with the adjustable seat tilt? My seat cover (from Caltrend) doesn't have any elasticity so I cannot use the seat tilt function with my seat cover! Does Cover King have a solution for this?

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      David, mine doesn't cover the seat controls - I tucked in the left side of the seat cover behind the control panel. No issue with seat adjustments.

    Did you end up losing the front pas seat rear storage space

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't recall any storage space on thr passenger seat... where exactly?

    I have the car and same color like yours. I my seat heaters are not that warm to begin with compared to my previous BMW X5. Have you tried the seat heaters with seat covers? Do you get less heat with the seat covers on?

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! I haven't tried the seat heaters, and last week it was so warm (80's during the day!). I'll check it out tomorrow and get back to you!

    • @PhilsDIY
      @PhilsDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I tried the seat heater today - it's COLD in L.A. today. I felt the seat heater is ok for me. I can't say for sure whether the cover affects the heat transmission but I'm guessing there probably is a little bit of loss of the heat transfer. But overall I'm happy with it.
