Wow, I didn't expect my little reference to this crazy video to inspire you to such a detailed debunking! (Thanks for mentioning me in the description, but you linked to another video, not the (fake?) monks doing fake kicks, but an indian karate black belt going for a really dumb world record - also a dubious one imo, what do you think?) Anyway, keep up the good work!
Yo man! I'd love to do the shared live/interview/podcast collab thing soon, when are you usualy free to do stuff like that? Lets keep in touch and figure out the time and date etc. 💪✌🙏
@@onemanstampede9881hi! Would you be open to a shared Livestream tomorrow at 12pm Cat, for me it's an hour earlier so it's perfect, if not, then maybe the day after? Just chat about martial arts, Mizner haha, our backgrounds etc. Let me know🥋🙏
Dude you did it... You aligned your chakras and focused your chi and now you have indestructiballs. You keep saying "this is kung fu" and I keep saying "No it taint" Okay so how do we do it for our throats and eyes? If we did that we might have a chance to beat off Jon Jones!!
@@onemanstampede9881 Hey I was total dick to you in the comment section of the other video. Ironic then that this is the first video I see of yours. Pun intended. I apologize. I see your point and think we largely agree. Now I'm gonna go watch you cosplay Nina Williams (giggity)
@sasoriko my dude, don't worry about it. It's the internet, everyone holds their opinion dearly including me, maybe my comments may have seemed condescending. Glad we are the same page, it's just some of us are just paranoid enough to spend a lot of time on last resorts😂. But the jacked John Wick hyperbole got me 😂 especially as I am a fat man with a slight limp.
@@onemanstampede9881 Well join the club. I'm old and injured from years of training. Your comments were good. I just have a different perspective on combat and define a fight as consensual violence like a duel. Once I stepped back and understood what you were saying where fighting means you have to struggle I agree totally. At the end of the day it's just words. I appreciate you taking it in stride my dude. Now really though I saw you on cam man throwing people like a Tekken character . You're not fat you're just storing chi 🤣.
None of the kicks in this video had any real power behind them, and none of the monks (nor you) showed any skill in taking the kick. There is a way to do this with kicks that have real power, but it's a parlor trick - useless in combat. At most, demonstrating it might dissuade others from wanting to fight you. With the help of a friend trained in muay thai, I learned how to take very hard groin kicks with little/no discomfort many years ago, and I've taught a few people how to do so. For a little while, it was a fun trick to freak people out, and I didn't have to fake it. My muay thai friend also learned it, and on a few occasions we went back and forth, alternating who kicked and whether we were kicking from in front or behind our target. Good for laughs, and it prevented at least one bar fight, but otherwise it's impractical.
I think you missed the point of this video: of course no one showed any skill in taking a real ball kick here, and that's exactly what Nick wants to demonstrate - the "monks" just fool their audience, taking these fake kicks does not require an "iron crotch", as the crotch isn't hit at all. It would be interesting to see your method of taking a real groin kick - perhaps you feel like making a video about it?
This took long for me to reply to. I guess you missed the point of the video, as it was a breakdown of what the monks where doing and making the comparison to pro wrestling. It was by no means to show how to do it better. I would also like to point out a contradiction in your statement regarding the kick you know 'it's a parlor trick... but it's not fake', it's either a trick which implies it's fake and creates the illusion of a kick to the groin or it is not a parlor trick but a proper kick to the groin, it can't be both.
@onemanstampede9881 What the monks (and you) demonstrate in the video is fake. There is, however, a real version of this. Just like pro wrestling and real wrestling. If you only saw pro wrestling, it would be easy to conclude that wrestling is garbage and make videos about that. I think the goal of your video is fine, but your demonstrations and explanations are somewhat lacking both in context and quality. However, if you want to debunk more "Chinese monk" nonsense, check out the books "American Shaolin" and "Secrets of the Vagabonds". Both will give you plenty of material to make videos about, especially the latter.
@jasonerickson1753 I can definitely agree about the quality of the video as I did a cheap green screen, and I have room for improvement. Indeed the demonstrations are not perfect but the concepts of the tricks are laid out for everyone to understand, it actually doesn't need a lot of detail and the demonstration should be performed in a way that people can easily see the similarities. But if you think I met the goal then that is what matters as that is what video is about as it it just entails what the monks were doing can be broken down to cheap tricks. However you are adding 'context' that isn't needed to breakdown specified cheap tricks to make people believe in the power of a martial art. Criticism about my performance and not argueing over my points can be seen as ad hominem to some. But I will take your recommendation on the book, it may be an interesting read. But if you have a link/video real version of this then please share it.
Damn! This channel deserves sooo much more views and subs...👏👏 big claps for the humor and editing! Not jelous at all...😅

The world record is just the same as the first kick. Can literally see the feet hit the butt cheeks.
