“HUSSband!” I swear, that was bloody brilliant. Seeing Van Alden in scenes so comedic (Like the “Why must it always be pandemonium?!” scene) reminds me of all the comedy that Jaws did in Moonraker.
She IS Norwegian. The men are tough, and so are the women. Nice bunch, though, it you don't piss them off. Same can be said for most Scandinavians and Northern Europeans.
They should have preserved Van Alden's life, let him be a respected gangster with Sigrid faithful to him and pleasant with his childrens. It would have been a great add to the scenario, the ex prohi who became Al Capone's buttonman. They fucked up his character and made him look ridiculous with a ridiculous ending.
It’s funny, in the first season, Eli and Nelson were two of my least favorite characters. But by the time of the 5th season (and even sooner) they became two of my favorite characters. Loved how they evolved over the show’s run.
No doubt mueller/nelson is one of my favorite characters and tbh i think he was the craziest one out of all of them even if he didn’t torture anyone he went psychotic and no one even knew

Eli fled to Chicago from Atlantic City after he killed the federal agent. Mueller had fled there a couple years before after he also killed a federal agent, when he was still an agent himself. Mueller ended up in Capone's gang by freak chances and then after getting established he took Eli in to work with the outfit. Sigrid is my favorite female character in the series. Went from a nanny to pretty rough and tumble lady. And all while never losing that precious accent.
