Sir I want to do salt spray testing in accelerated mode as it needs to be tested for 750 hours. Please guide

      Hi Sudhansu,
There isn't a one size fits all acceleration factor.
The duration for the test will depend on the frequency of exposure to a salt fog environment.
For instance if you have a system that is supposed to last 10 years and based on research and analysis you have determined that the system would be exposed to 360 hours of salt spray during it's operational life, you could run a 360 hour test to evaluate the life time exposure and effects of salt fog.
Ideally, you would want to continue and determine when each system will fail.
Also, look at running a cyclical salt fog test which can accelerate corrosion for certain materials.

@@tomreshtesting sir, what are the stresses that can be considered for acceleration in salt spray test. I have the product to withstand 750 hr of salt spray. I want to reduce the test time.

Can we use arrhenious equation for elevated temperature in salt spray test , and accelerate the test.

Yes, you can apply an Arrhenius equation for the temperature component of the salt fog test in order to increase the reaction rate, but it purely depends on the exact intent of the test and what you are trying to activate chemical change for: the coatings, substrates, e plating, etc.
