    I fought it melee. 1) It's a Golem so you'd want to go in with a Colossal Weapon/Colossal Sword as those have huge strike damage. 2) You'll only do real damage on the glowing yellow parts, in this case the wrists. Anywhere else is a waste of time 3) Be patient, wait for it to strike, then move in while dodging to position yourself where its hands end near the ground. Get two hits in on the glowing yellow parts and back off immediately. 4) Repeat 5) Slash weapons, like Katanas, do less damage to armoured enemies.

      Easiest strat I found was to just go for the legs with Flame of the Redmanes. If you stagger it once, the fight is over. You riposte and then start using the Flames again while it's getting up. It will fall back down again before it has a chance to attack and the cycle repeats. It took 3 Flames of the Redmanes for the first stagger iirc, so you just need to survive for like 6 seconds and then it's gg.

      There's Miyazaki's idea of "the easy mode" half the VG press pester him about : *put a pillar next to the OP enemy for the player to catch a break. But put the OP enemy on a tiny arena next to a death ledge to make it a simple yet fair fight* ^^

    He was supposed to be a guard for the fort above, like how castle Morne has its archer golem, he probably was a creation of the nearby magic town of Sellia to help with the war by guarding fort Faroth, for how it ended up down on the ledge behind the forth, you can assume that the massive dragon Greyoll, before she was affected by the rot, probably tried to nest in front of the fort, the golem probably didn’t like that and tried to get rid of them, only to get slapped off the cliff by the obviously much larger dragon, which can be evidenced by why you find him flat on his back and rather unresponsive to you until you get extremely close or attack first, also, the archway you can use to get down when coming down has damage that looks like something had smashed through it, and not that it was naturally crumbling.
    It’s a shame you wouldn’t have been able to fight him above, like some sort of fort guardian field boss, but obviously they wanted to go with something more exciting, like a massive crippled dragon.

    I usually kill these golems pretty easily with the spectral lance ability on the clayman’s harpoon ( does a good amount of dmg to enemy’s poise ), throw a few spears at them and they’ll topple down allowing me you to do a “visceral” attack to their chest, the golem enemies seem to take a lot more dmg from these “visceral” attacks than most enemies so it’s probably the best way to take them down.
    I also use this same spear against dragons, soooo much fun to throw spears at their face’s causing them to topple down for a visceral to their faces XD

    focus *his left* wrist with your biggest attack(s) while he's offline, quickly move on to the right wrist while he's standing up and hit him there too. if he's still going strong, give him a jumping or charged heavy attack on the leg to finish the job, and bam you've knocked his ass down before he even summoned the lasers.

  • @DisgruntledDisabledCombat_Vet
    @DisgruntledDisabledCombat_Vet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I beat him the same way on first play through. NG 7+ he takes longer to kill and I’ve tried out dark hole which works if you don’t move and all 3 taget you. Other than that carrion retaliation helps reflect a beam dmg, and you need to be patient with him. His weak spots are only on his wrist’s. Either you use a max range caster build to hit his wrists while he’s attacking, and then nuke his wrists when he falls down from his attacks. Or dual pulley crossbow with hybrid build. Ranni gear, rot/poison talisman for ap,Alexander’s, and bot Melina’s talismans. You’ll burn him down in 10mins, if all 6 arrows hit per shot. I would even use the shabriri aoe madness for the nice AP boost. If I can beat him with nude two shields on my first NG run, you got this. The problem is people don’t realize until later that his wrists are his weak spots, and everything hits hard when you catch him getting back up. He’s got the same move sets, except those not so accurate beams that seem like a CC design to keep you trapped, not able to play aggressive the entire time.Just need to learn not to get greedy, when landing hard hits on wrists before the lasers pin you down, and then he 1hits you thru the pillars lol. I’ll also use the black knife to give him a hp debuff to make killing him faster. Sometimes I’ll summon the albanuric archer on the tree to dps him while I kite him around waiting for the stupid lasers to start, before I turn around and get aggressive with attacks while I can. I wish there were more bosses like this golem who might’ve been discarded while they created the game, because he’s guarding just a rune. He only gets up when you go near the loot by his right arm or attack him. After I got the AOW I ran around him hoping i would get a spell n his weapon, but things get really fun when you buff him up with crystal darts. I’m glad they made his hit box weakness on his wrists. He’s a great mini boss to try different builds on to see what your burst dps adds up to, and what combinations of buffs do the best burst damage. I never tried hitting him with the bewitching to make him friendly, that way you can kill him without any resistance. That’s if he really wasn’t coded as a mini boss that was supposed to help fight the boss, or they had some other use for him that got scratched, or possibly DLC update. After killing all of the bosses and finding areas that are partially made, but aren’t completed, and there’s no way to get to that location underneath the clouds. Also the hidden walls that appeared after exploring locations and Ghazi wheeling everything until something opened up. I’m sure they will add what happens after your first play through. With all the changes that happened based on your choices, and which 5 endings you got, and quest lines you didn’t do which they make those quest lines that we missed, and/or never completed become the new endgame bosses. Since we removed all of the powerful guys. Plus the games rich lore can make us play before everything went to shit, or continue to where we left off, and what the consequences we have to deal with since we got a certain ending. This game would be great if they let us coop the entire story, but we all decide our own outcome or stay with the group, and actually let people play a tank class with a healer. I was hoping each race we picked had its own perks to push you to build around it’s races bonus trait’s for and make team pve coop based on the builds we created. I’ve got my caster build and during coop I’ll keep up commanders buff up for the AP/DEF buff with erdtree group affinity dmg negation, hp hot, and highest healing group spell on my bar while playing. Then swap talismans around to make my casts at max speed, and have the buff/debuff shabiri spell to temporarily pull agro off everyone, then let the person tanking snap on the talisman to re grab agro again.
    I did notice that if you have 3 players and juggle the shabiri spell or talisman the enemies get stuck in changing agro animations if timed correctly, and they won’t attack while getting hit by ranged casts. Sometimes the bosses do their special move where you need to dodge, but most times they’re about to do an attack, and stop to turn at who equipped the talisman. if you have someone lay on the ground with the spell buff on, they don’t get hit while the other two juggle the talismans and all 3 rotate doing dps. The best part is when you find a great cheese spot and equip the talisman, the other players just need to dps slowly because sometimes the boss won’t recognize the person in the cheese area with the talisman on, and the other two players are trying to burn the boss down by going all out, and it causes the game to not recognize the person in the cheese spot in game. So when the other two die, the player alive that’s hitting the boss will count as dead though alive, lol.

  • @fronatomy6280
    @fronatomy6280 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First time beating it. It wasn't particularly hard. Quick Melee Strat for this boss: If you have Bloodhound's Fang or stronger weapons, you can stagger him for riposte with repeatedly well timed strong attacks at its heels. This strat takes a bit of time and effort but it still works and is less trickier than going for the weak spots at its arms. You can easily lose poise damage you built up from the repeated attempts and taking too long at hitting its arm weak spots. The floating beam attack locks on to your last positon and stays there so it can be easily evaded once it's "beaming" and you can also use the pillars to block them and minimize risk. If anything, it's just a buffed up standard golem with a new ability. The hard part is getting there. I lost 20k+ runes trying to get where he was and died too many times before because platforming in Elden Ring is something I have a hard time getting good at. What's worse is its rune yield of 5k+ (New Game) after killing it makes the whole boss fight kinda not worth the trouble. Getting the golem down there was a bad idea in my humble opinion. Effort and Risk =/= Reward, sadly. My advice is, if you want to get this guy for the sake of completion, make sure you've spent all your runes on whatever as you can easily lose a shitton on the way down.

    I spent more time trying not to die from fall dmg just to get to him...he was a pain especially since area was more compact than usual boss areas.

      I love when people use RoB on Mohg…..the 🤬ing LORD OF BLOOD.
      What they don’t realize is everytime you proc blood loss on him you give him the buff that makes his attacks stronger from being in the vicinity of blood loss.

    Bait the attack where he brings the halberd down and both hands stay on the ground for a beat, unleash everything you have on his hands, I found fast hitting weapons such as occult claws (I’m assuming you’ve levelled arcane judging by the weapon you’re using) with bloodhound step ash of war equipped that way you can get in and out without taking damage. Also best not to lock on as the camera messes you up when you get close. As long as you get your positioning right and hit the lava section near his hands you’ll see his health just melt away.

    The beams only seek you until they are fired after that they remain still and keep firing where they were shot. The little circle beams he does.

    Anyone that has ash rain of arrows knows he's there, just took him out with rock sling , took a while though, melee would be a different story.

    Seems like my build is too OP. Double Giant Crusher on NG+1.
    Went in, got the riposte before he even got up. After that 10% health left. Two more jump attacks, done. He didn't even do a single attack.
    Maybe I should try it with a sword one day for the challenge.

    Bruhhh, I am straight up STUMPED on what this dude is doing just lurkin over the ledge way out in the straight up CUTTY cutts of BFE Caelid. Like no joke when I found him I thought they had just forgot to slap his boss healthbar at the bottom of the screen or somethin. He basically fits all the criteria of a mini boss fight that I could ever think of; #1. While sharing the basic Wrist-Only Golem model he has moves in his moveset that are completely unique to him and him alone. #2. His weapon he uses is unique, speaking of does anyone know if the weapon is farmable? #3. He lies at the dead end of a location that is not easily accessible. #4. Is a total bitch to fight unless over-leveled. (especially in this case considering the area you are able to fight him in is basically just a representation of his attack range) Sooooo as far as the description you gave him as Caelids secret boss ima have to say…..Dude, Word.
