I am excited that McGuire has shown he is serious about defensive improvement. I think Wood is a good hire and if he can accomplish what he did in Houston for us we’ll be in good shape.
I was at the TCU game and we gave up 14 points on 2 big plays. Our D played relatively well until the 4th where we had 2 meltdowns that killed us and cost us a spot in the Big 12 title game.
That’s what Wood will limit and has proven to limit at previous DC spots for him. They won’t be perfect, but his scheme limits big plays pretty dang well
Way off topic but speaking of DC, any information on Cambridge? He wasn’t available for the last game and might not be available tonight either based on GMC’s presser this week.

You may habe touched on it, but #1 quality of Wood is his ability to be versatile. He has run multiple schemes and been successful at all of them.
