Runnick stun sucks, but runnick as an engine is just as bad. Free bodies , draws , deck thinning, the cards are board breakers and interruptions, banishing the opponents deck before they even have access potentially winning on the spot banishing the outs or important combo pieces, and even a win condition in time. Not at all fair to deal with and that’s just the engine. Good luck dealing with whatever deck they’re ACTUALLY playing too
To be fair runick and their variants are all hard once per turns and I'd you negate hugen that's still a minus two making them have to somehow combo out to waste another hugen if they want their field spell. Then you can negate the draw. Also they only have two cards for interruption that they have to draw or already have. I play a runick variant and I got better at knowing how to play around them. Surr getting banished sucks, but in this format a lot of cards are one card combos so that one piece can result in full combos still. Kashtira still does it worse since they lock your zones, snipe your extra deck when most people run 1 copy, banish your graveyard, and they can just snatch so many cards pretty fast while being able to play under shifter. That's pretty rough. Also draws are weaker than searches and those draws can easily be bricks.
To this day that was the reason I hated mr4 a lot. We had so many cards for hand ripping and it was so stupid. Orcust before mermaid was banned did that a lot and it made me tilted lol.
Runick stun was the reason I used to hate runick in general. After I tried it myself with magical musketer it made me find the deck fun and less annoying to play against.
To me the decks that take over your turn or go on a several minute board set up (particularly link decks that summon 39 times before your go) that take so long you could mow your grass before they're done. Then when you board wipe them in response to they scumbag behaviors they rage and leave or just go all in on negates to stop you from playing the game to such a degree you become a silent observer. Kaiju, labrynth, and runic are all decks I will immediately surrender the microsecond I see one of those cards in their deck because I'm not about to put myself through a 30 minute session of frustration since I know there's a 0% chance I will have any fun playing against them.
I know its new, but im honestly hating melodious variants since their removal can't be interacted with. Then they can stop you completely with a bagooska, apollo, and the other fusions if needed.
(Edit: Sorry if there are any inconsistencies with my comment as its been a while since i played, and i likely changed field spells dependong on what happened at the time) Also idk how this would weigh on the annoying scale but i made a combination of toons and egyptian god slime for a deck. EGS for damage as well as protecting any gods i have, and toon kingdom so i can use Toon spells and traps which is REALLY helpful depending on what your opponent tried to do. Had a game once a whole ago where i managed to do over 500k damage to my opponent because he gradually gained attack from his lifepoints being increased because of a flint combo he had going, and then i casted Shadow Toon which pretty much killed him in one hit as i think his life points were very close to what he had for attack, the main reason i was safe from him was because i had "gravity bind" and an obelisk the tormentor as well as 2 Egyptian god slimes and mound of the bound creator, on the field, then once he was close enough to 0 i poked him directly with obelisk for game. A little bit of setup but its hilarious to watch the plays that can happen of your opponent has not much removal.
What about kashtira it used to be overused on master duel but I rarely encounter it now but when it was used, omg it would banish your cards easily and summon levels 7 like they were level 2 Monsters
Kash in MD is been banned to the point where it's not functional as a pure deck. However Unicorn is extremely annoying and the deck actively punishing for interacting feels worse then combo deck boards or fossyl dyna + whatever floodgate they have at least to me.
I think rata said ir best, "will the fire fist player please finish their f***** turn already" likely not exact but close enough. Waiting an extra two minutes to play on my turn massively pisses me off in MD.
Runick Stun is by far my most hated deck. Snake Eyes is just too consistent but not unfair. I feel like with some hits in the ban list it can be a fun deck to play against.
I don’t hate any decks. I hate players who think they are good for copy and pasting the deck that everyone else is playing. And the Toxicity amongst the players is what had me quit. Nothing like asking for deck advice online to get told just to get a “good deck”
Well unfortunately, that is also a side effect of when komoney establishes META stagnancy in the game itself. When a group of meta archetypes, ends up winning many tournaments from Locals, YCS, regionals and worlds, it not only throws the archetype usage in tournaments off balance, but it also creates this toxicity effect which psychologically impacts the players, into buying the deck core itself thus resulting in the copying and pasting effect. This in turn also increases the amount of people into using the deck primarily because of two reasons: one the deck itself is the only thing that can keep up with the pace of the meta or two primarily just solely because the decks win ratio is the highest compared to the others, which results in the toxicity you mentioned which is a kill switch. Long story short: if meta decks popularity and stagnancy remains and no actual appropriate countermeasures are provided, I can ensure within 5-10 years from now Konami is going to lose popularity in one of their most heavily invested assets: yugioh.
the main thing that makes me spite a deck is said deck playing during my turn. for example dark world being able to hand loop you for 2 during your turn the second you play a card
Talking about annoying decks, do you think dinomorphia can still stand in today's meta? I recently picked up some of those and can't tell if they are any good
I mean it did have some tops prior to tempai's release. It's not a bad pick for today's format. If you know how to pilot it and spend your life points wisely, you should be able to steal games. Again, the life point disadvantage can also be used against you. If they some how manage to out your board and you're low on life points, you're dead. If you get into time trouble, you're low life points can cost you the game. I had a fair share of dinomorphia, and it's really annoying to deal with it
I think it's a great rogue pick that can steal games. Rogue as in if you take in to a local tournament I'm sure it could catch the other decks off guard. However it is a trap deck so you want to go first all the time. It's got good recovery that your opponent will have a tough time to break the rexterm and the followups that come but some decks can. Getting impermed can cost you the game if you gamble hard on the rexterm pass ,unless you have the dinomorphia sonic . However, its possible to get shafted by a double imperm so *shrug* if you can throw a psy end punisher in there such as the likes of a P.U.N.K. Dinomorp deck can do,it does help going 2nd and going first as well. Punk dino is actually ridiculously strong as well. I feel because it can bait our hand traps easier so that you can play 1 engine on the other. If youre able to open up and play both engines, then you're off to the races. Emergency teleport is a full combo for punk if they ash that ,you go normal summon dino girl search the trap full combo rexterm
I've been given nasty comments for winning with Metaphys (without Shifter or floodgates), so I've come to the conclusion that players will hate every deck they lose to. Then I began to use floodgates because I'll get hated no matter what 🤷♂️
Tenpai is not that strong, the field spell protects only at main phase 1, they need to go into battle phase to be effective, they are fair as far as i understand, now i know people will find a way to flood gate with them by combining something into it.
I love playing branded because i feel like i invested correctly. I got to play a good deck for 2 years. I hate how it will eventually get shafted because of GPN.
@@dissidiamaniac460 Kinda feel they should shaft the puppet instead (even though they likely won't) or they'll just ignore it. Probably as long as it doesn't win any events / isn't a threat to whatever the current set is trying to push then it won't matter to Konami. All that matters to them is their bottomline.
@@MattOsheaYGOYou gotta check out some builds lately bc I'm running into some friends that run kaijus, shifter, heat wave (FUCK THAT CARD), and a bunch of other degenerate options to break boards
Most decks aren’t really hated people just hate constantly going against it. That’s the real issue is that everyone wants to use the winnings deck which is OK but it floods the game so bad it gets annoying.
Yeah I get that and I agree. It’s really annoying if you’re going against people who basically play same deck over and over again. For me I play semi-casual or rogue at most because there is no stagnant BS with Meta Decks, and there is more variety of archetypes to compete against instead of a one-sided BS like meta.
@@randombadchannel8700 not really I play Pokémon & MTG & it’s not no where near as repetitive as YGO. Konami puts the these competitive decks with every card being a searcher for something. How can players who want to play with their favorite deck and cards (non meta) deal with that every duel. You can pull out your best combo and then a meta-deck will literally be playing on your turn Snake Eyes literally pull full combos on your turn. One time I forgot it was my turn lol . we all want to win, but who wants to do it with card They really don’t want to play with. They just use it to win with it so not satisfying
I personally like the Runick cards. Just out of curiosity, are the Runick cards themselves toxic, or is it the pairing with floodgates and generic cards?
I love Floowandereeze, Lab is cool, Branded help me get my OTS win and I loved Runick at first, but the stun version made me hate the deck. I like playing Snake-Eyes, but hate that it was more expensive than a car note.
I hate when every card in a deck adds or floats........so they basically never commit anything and still somehow have like 5 + interruptions Also I don't understand why people hate on trap cards......setting traps doesn't take 15 mins like combo decks and the interruptions from monster combos is basically the same as traps tbh but worse because they can attack for game
@@randombadchannel8700 bruh how does this make any sense, so ur logic is, it's ok to "hijack" (interact) with ur opponent if it's a monster board that took 15 mins to set up........the time it takes "hijacking" a turn is the same between monster boards and trap boards, combo decks just take longer to get there Please explain to me how activating a couple of trap holes 🕳 takes 15 mins? O,o
@detective_0267 1st this is more just why I see some people feel about certain trap decks (I am indifferent towards them). Also labrynth very much combos on your turn.
@@randombadchannel8700 lab definitely is cringe for being able to combo turn ZeRo but I feel that's a problem with their monsters ban that damn clock 🕒
Floo never was much of a problem with me and I beat them easily with rogue decks like fiendsmith musketeer runick (it's a 60 card build i made) and galaxy eyes bystial horus (new support). Theyre only strong bc of shifter. Tenpai can play under shifter while having a million hand traps, board breakers, shifter itself, kaiju, and heat wave to easily otk you back on their turn.
What makes me hate a deck even more is the fact that it's completely unfair to play against. Flo and branded are ok, one Ash or Drole and they can't do anything else. Decks like SnakeEye or Rescue or Lab, can play with a third of their Deck filled with handtrap, have multiples one card combo and you'll never have enough ressources for stoping their play. For playing against few decks you HAVE to play Floodgates, i always got a Royal decree for Lab/Traptrix/Dinomorphia/Eldlich or Imperial Iron wall banishing decks. Old school decks were more balanced and just are Rogue now.
Yeah, I actually do like Branded as a deck (outside of Branded Fusion and that Gimmick Puppet Lock crap that they should seriously get of. Otherwise, Branded is a very fair Fusion Deck that has its own flair and encourages interaction) along with Ishizu Tear. Those decks are really strong Fusion Decks that require alot of skill to play while encouraging interaction. Most modern decks don't do that...
That is one of the main reasons why I play Branded, it is what a meta tier deck should be. Powerful, yes, but well designed and not so broken that it is nearly impossible to deal with. I feel like my victories are actually earned.
I hate labyrinth because in yugioh turns are meant to be interactive like ash, imperm and all that, but Labyrinth plays through your turn even if you won the dice roll/ coin toss and it's hard to get rid of
My two primary decks are Lab and Floo, I will never change 😎. Think it’s worth mentioning while I totally understand the frustration with Floo and even Purrely, they are great budget options and I think that is important to remember when ranting about decks. For some folks those might be the only viable options to play the game they like. Tbh if you spend long enough on the internet you’ll find someone who will hate any deck. Play what you want, have fun.
Most hated deck is the one which is slow. The only deck which does this is Stun, Runick or the worst Runick Stun. Floo is still quick and is still beatable, but with Runick or Stun u just have to draw the out or just surrender.
I hate Mikanko. It an awful feeling to see your board get hit by a kaiju or lava golem. The monster cards are cute but are not targetable when equipped, and then the fact that damage is done on you instead of your opponent when they attack is insane. I would play my cards and feel good about my turn thinking that I'll have a good interactive game with my opponent, but then I lose to a simple mikanko otk that doesn't take a lot of work to pull off which leaves a bad taste. Even without the double edged sword, you can still expect to lose quickly.
(Runick)The banish effect is so anoying like if you play something like Earth Machine it can literaly destroy your deck completely and it's a bonus effect meaning like you can start you turn normal summon you monster they negate or destroy your starter and even if you have extender like they can randomly banich a combo piece with make you deck now unable to combo. PS: Kashtira was not mention in this vid but i personaly hate kash some much like it feel some unfun went they banish one of your monster face down. Also went you play rogue against snake eyes it feel just impossible to win(it's impossible to win) but like went you play 12 HT in main dedicated so much space and snake eyes is just like ok i will full combo anyway your like what ?
Ppl need to stop complaining about the Tenpai field spell. It's the only reason its even able to be played in the meta at all. Without it the deck would be terrible. And it's a wanna go second deck so you can prepare for it too. literally stop 1 card of Tenpai's and they fall apart. I get so sick of playing 3-4 hand traps into the broken ass decks like Snake-eyes and they still make a halfway decent bored and I get ashed once with Tenpai and cant play then the snake eyes player complains if they lose. Funny how people can play the most broken tier 0 decks and then complain about something else being broken when they lose, gtfoh.
I still fail to understand how is snake-eyes good; every single time i fought against it i won, Easily, so far you stop flamberg, you won so snake-eye= waste of money
Runnick stun that's the one i was trying to think of o and Dark word y because of the hand luop taking forever with the dam combo and unless you D shifter them yeah good luck you may as well scup
Small snake-guys Trashtira Floowanderthesenutz Commerynth Braindead Supershittysamurai Runick (couldn’t think of a name for this one) Numeron (this one too)
Ive beaten my friends runick stun with my unchained evil twin. we go back n forth i dont recall the W/L.. the deck is lame because it doesnt require that much piloting. Youre stalling with bs backrow or a floodgate monster, and youre using the runick cards like Imperms to clog your opponent out the game . I just big brain them by letting his own floodgates lock him out of making good choices with his cards. If their EMZ is clogged and you dont affect their field to where they GET to unclog it,then i can stall you out too buddy
Idk man floo feels kinda bad in this meta, a couple decks can already play shifter so that card is gross but thats not floos fault. The board feels easy to break, it usually has 1 MAYBE 2 interruptions depending on opening hand and it bricks.
That’s exactly the problem is with meta decks and archetypes. The decks in general will become too stagnant for any tourney including YCS, regionals, and locals; next thing you know everyone will playing the same BS over and over again at least 25-50% of participants will be playing that deck or archetype. What Konami should do in this case is to develop more support or retrained support for any of the older decks to make them at least rogue tier or non-meta, and utilize that as a fulcrum to balance the ratios out so more variety can be established, cause otherwise the way I see things it’s just gonna become a killjoy or a turn off switch 5-10 years from now.
I personally think they need a format rule change to deck building. For example, if they adapted a similar ruling to domain format, then a lot of tier decks wouldn't exist in the way they are and be as bad, for example they could also fix the issue with main deck boss monsters by doing this
Runick I swear I wish it would get banned every single card. Like sorry maybe I'm entitled and yes to some degree the game has definitely devolved into not letting your opponent play but while other decks might need to draw the out I can't draw the out If you banished my top 6 cards and all 6 of those top cards WERE MY OUTS. Whenever someone plays runick against me I just tell them they got it. I won't be disrespected of my time and possible enjoyment to come out and play the game just to get paired against a runick player? It's actually the most disgusting felling ever I'll take my 45 minutes and play on my phone than play that toxic match up
I play Snake Eyes Runick lol it’s not handtrap heavy but the two work together in an unholy matrimony I love being a part of. I’m a huge Runick player and playing the two feels really good
Don't forget Tears and Kash. Tears that high-rolling play on opponent's turn pos of an archetype that should never have been created in the first place. And kash with that annoying fenrir and unicorn with boss monsters that zone lock, so toxic.
Furthermore, I play a variation of Branded, and I refuse to run the gimmick lock and Sanctifire Dragon. People who run the gimmick lock are so cringe 🤮
Alright, I gotta ask. What exactly is your intro? I swear I hear “What’s Fo Shigga? I’m Matt here.” And I thought, for the longest time, you were saying “What’s up? Matt here.” And then I thought you said your name but why the “what’s” in the beginning. I’m legitimately confused what you say for the intro. I need clearing up, please 😅 That being said, decks I’m tired of and no longer wish to duel against and will almost always scoop on Master duel: Tearlaments, still. So much milking and chaining. You can play someone else, I don’t want any part in it. Labyrinth because they can pop a card in my hand before I even play a card and they also take forever to play.. At this point, Fire Kings. It’s not as much advantage one guy in my discord plays it and ONLY plays fire kings, he doesn’t even try playing anything else for fun so I just don’t care to duel against them. I’m cool with Kash and Floo even though Floo gets annoying at times but if I go first then I’m usually golden and can stop their combos. Kashtira is a necessarily evil and I’m all for it. Exosister pissed me off at locals the other day but I also didn’t play the right hand traps and he got me good with Nibiru and Gozen so it was fair, he was just the better player. Don’t hate the deck atm.

(Edit: Sorry if there are any inconsistencies with my comment as its been a while since i played, and i likely changed field spells dependong on what happened at the time)
Also idk how this would weigh on the annoying scale but i made a combination of toons and egyptian god slime for a deck.
@@randombadchannel8700losing combo pieces is annoying but Kashira is nowhere near as bad as it was before. Rip Ariseheart
@@randombadchannel8700 I have seen unicorn used in decks that have little to nothing else to do with Kashtira.
I think rata said ir best, "will the fire fist player please finish their f***** turn already" likely not exact but close enough.
Waiting an extra two minutes to play on my turn massively pisses me off in MD.
Definitely think recency bias on Snake Eye, I would put full power Kash as like three or two and remove Snake Eye.
"If you play traps, you are the problem."
@@photomgamer6253 That was very very well put!
the main thing that makes me spite a deck is said deck playing during my turn. for example dark world being able to hand loop you for 2 during your turn the second you play a card
It do be like that. Dark world player here
Agreed it's a dog shit mechanic and I wish I could rip up every deck in existence that let's you combo off during an opponents turn.
Hand ripping sucks!
Dogmatika stun is more hate then snake-eyes fire king. Snake-eyes fire king is balanced and can stop very easy.
I've been given nasty comments for winning with Metaphys (without Shifter or floodgates), so I've come to the conclusion that players will hate every deck they lose to.
Then I began to use floodgates because I'll get hated no matter what 🤷♂️
Tenpai is not that strong, the field spell protects only at main phase 1, they need to go into battle phase to be effective, they are fair as far as i understand, now i know people will find a way to flood gate with them by combining something into it.
i play master duel only, my hated decks are : floo, kash, tear and lab
The greatest offense about snake-eyes is that is truly fun to play and to navigate all the possible lines.
snake eyes sucks. there's just no stopping the engine unless you have like 5 hand traps ready to go.
I love playing branded because i feel like i invested correctly. I got to play a good deck for 2 years. I hate how it will eventually get shafted because of GPN.
GPN?
@@DutchThriceman gimmick puppet
Feel the same way about lab. Been around for a while. Gets the novelty of traps. Waifu bonus. Good enough for me
@@dissidiamaniac460 Kinda feel they should shaft the puppet instead (even though they likely won't) or they'll just ignore it. Probably as long as it doesn't win any events / isn't a threat to whatever the current set is trying to push then it won't matter to Konami. All that matters to them is their bottomline.
Tenpai is quickly evolving to be one of the most hated decks because of those reasons you listed lol
Next time I make this video it'll probably be there
@@MattOsheaYGOYou gotta check out some builds lately bc I'm running into some friends that run kaijus, shifter, heat wave (FUCK THAT CARD), and a bunch of other degenerate options to break boards
@@galaxyvulture6649 oh I play the deck 😅
I know the stuff they run
After couple days struggle I decide to join the dark side snake eye is amazing, fun, and totally fair😂
Sadly that's just the nature of competitive games.
One time I forgot it was my turn lol
. we all want to win, but who wants to do it with card They really don’t want to play with.
I hate when every card in a deck adds or floats........so they basically never commit anything and still somehow have like 5 + interruptions
Also I don't understand why people hate on trap cards......setting traps doesn't take 15 mins like combo decks and the interruptions from monster combos is basically the same as traps tbh but worse because they can attack for game
Because people don't like their turn getting hijacked. The 15 minutes just happen on your turn instead and people don't like that.
@@randombadchannel8700 bruh how does this make any sense, so ur logic is, it's ok to "hijack" (interact) with ur opponent if it's a monster board that took 15 mins to set up........the time it takes "hijacking" a turn is the same between monster boards and trap boards, combo decks just take longer to get there
Please explain to me how activating a couple of trap holes 🕳 takes 15 mins?
Where’s tear at doe?
I hate labyrinth because in yugioh turns are meant to be interactive like ash, imperm and all that, but Labyrinth plays through your turn even if you won the dice roll/ coin toss and it's hard to get rid of
No where near as bad as full power tearlement
@@lz9275facts
I was so glad to see Purrely mentioned in this list. That's my #1 hated deck for sure.
haven't used them yet but i was thinking snake eyes and lvl horus
I hate Mikanko. It an awful feeling to see your board get hit by a kaiju or lava golem. The monster cards are cute but are not targetable when equipped, and then the fact that damage is done on you instead of your opponent when they attack is insane. I would play my cards and feel good about my turn thinking that I'll have a good interactive game with my opponent, but then I lose to a simple mikanko otk that doesn't take a lot of work to pull off which leaves a bad taste. Even without the double edged sword, you can still expect to lose quickly.
Bro just out here taking Cali Effect’s thumbnail template
Yeah i hate branded and floo with all my might.
However, i hate Spright Runick more than the Stun version.
What about Voiceless of the voice decks
Runnick, shifter decks and snake eye. Other than that I like the format.
That 1 deck that summon bilzilion monster on their first turn and summon that 4000ark dragon
I hate dark magician, blue eyes, swordsoul, and fallen of albaz and I also hate all the spam deck that are out there
Is tenpai on that this list the deck is super oga bronkga. Runick stun is something different man that deck is annoying.
Only villains play Kashtira
Funny because the kashtira boss monster is a villain lore wise
Remember everybody, Floo unscrambled spells out Fool lol
I still fail to understand how is snake-eyes good; every single time i fought against it i won, Easily, so far you stop flamberg, you won so snake-eye= waste of money
I'm laughing at players saying snake eyes is the most hated or best deck 😂 I never lost agenst it
Runnick stun that's the one i was trying to think of o and Dark word y because of the hand luop taking forever with the dam combo and unless you D shifter them yeah good luck you may as well scup
Darkworls easy. Droll them. They can't draw

I'm a little surprised you didn't list mikanko
tbh since Isolde's ban, i really mind mikanko
Ive beaten my friends runick stun with my unchained evil twin. we go back n forth i dont recall the W/L.. the deck is lame because it doesnt require that much piloting. Youre stalling with bs backrow or a floodgate monster, and youre using the runick cards like Imperms to clog your opponent out the game .
I just big brain them by letting his own floodgates lock him out of making good choices with his cards. If their EMZ is clogged and you dont affect their field to where they GET to unclog it,then i can stall you out too buddy
Kashtira made me not want to play the current format it made me play plant tengu and goat format
Idk man floo feels kinda bad in this meta, a couple decks can already play shifter so that card is gross but thats not floos fault. The board feels easy to break, it usually has 1 MAYBE 2 interruptions depending on opening hand and it bricks.
Floowandereeze, swordsoul (formerly), yubel, and fire king snake eye/pure snake eye are the decks i hate playing against
fire kings is not the problem sir it's snake eyes is the big problem plus right now fire kings are not doing good the engine is struggling
@codywellsbigdog5908 I like fire king tri brigade. Not as high ceiling as fire king snake eye but it's still pops off and is way cheaper to build
Every popular deck is very annoying to play against
That’s exactly the problem is with meta decks and archetypes.
@@photomgamer6253 This is sad but true...

Eldlich the Golden Lord deck.
I like branded because I play lab lol
Snake eyes #1 runick #2
Sky Striker purely because of Widow Anchor and its non-OPT bullshit
I personally think they need a format rule change to deck building. For example, if they adapted a similar ruling to domain format, then a lot of tier decks wouldn't exist in the way they are and be as bad, for example they could also fix the issue with main deck boss monsters by doing this
I love floowandereeze. One of my favorite decks of all time next to mystic mine burn.
It's actually the most disgusting felling ever I'll take my 45 minutes and play on my phone than play that toxic match up
Why do people complain about cards and decks? Everyone has access to every card and deck so instead of complaining, join the meta
If they can't afford the cards, then they can't join the meta. Not to mention it gets very tiring seeing the same cards over and over again.
Horus right now because everyone is rinsing that deck and it's fucking annoying to go against in master duel
Like I said when I see snake eyes I end the game
Fucking labyrinth in master duel i hate their chain links 😂
Furthermore, I play a variation of Branded, and I refuse to run the gimmick lock and Sanctifire Dragon. People who run the gimmick lock are so cringe 🤮
Alright, I gotta ask. What exactly is your intro? I swear I hear “What’s Fo Shigga? I’m Matt here.” And I thought, for the longest time, you were saying “What’s up? Matt here.” And then I thought you said your name but why the “what’s” in the beginning. I’m legitimately confused what you say for the intro. I need clearing up, please 😅
That being said, decks I’m tired of and no longer wish to duel against and will almost always scoop on Master duel:
Tearlaments, still.
