I do like Ludicolo on a team with a Swampert. They cover each other’s weaknesses well. Water is just a type that can be paired with most of the other types.
For us older fans, Donphan will always be remembered for being the fifth Johto pokemon we ever saw in the anime behind Ho-Oh, Togepi, Marill, and Snubull thanks to its battle against Ash in the first movie.
In my last playthrough of crystal I actually did out of my way to stay up long enough to catch a Phanpy since I had decided before the playthrough even started that I had wanted to use a Donphan
I will say as I recall it didn't actually do a whole lot until after it evolved but after that yeah, it was plenty worth it since it doesn't even take terribly long to evolve.
I also can't stand having multiple same types on my team. it's also starting to develope into needing to have a team of pokemon, ALL with different colors, which means I can't have a purple poison type and then add another purple colored pokemon

Here's the thing about the fishing rod in Kalos: you can't get it unless you Surf across a body of water, so you probably already have a water type you are using whether it is Greninja, Lapras, Blastoise, Golduck, Gyarados or others. So it's not like you can just hold off on getting a water type until you get the rod.

I could've sworn Kalos also had the Lotad line in the waters. Though unless you can fish it out, you'd probably have a full team of 6 by the time you can even encounter them since different Pokemon are everywhere in those games.
"Lanturn is lacking in the battle department" hoo boy are you missing out. Lanturn in HGSS beats all of Lance's 1st team BY ITSELF, and with help defeating Venusaur, took out most of Red's team at LEVEL 59 (for record, his minimum lvl is in the 80s)
@@Matsuna13 It's got Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Signal Beam, Surf/Scald depending on game and decent utility moves like Stockpile and Toxic/Thunderwave. I'd say that's a pretty stacked moveset
In sword and shield you just have to go to the fishing spot outside nessa’s gym and fish ( is really easy to get a chinchoa I would know I fished one up first try )
Donphan is a very overlooked Pokémon. In the Pokémon Handbook it says it’s Normal type... When you find it in Kalos it says the location is unknown in the Dex...
@mandjtv I'd like to issue you a playthrough challenge you might find interesting. The premise is you have to breed all six members of your party in one copy of the game, and put them into a new save file. The rules are you play through the game as normal until you unlock trading. You must trade in the hatched pokemon at 1st level (or 5th if done on an earlier game(, and play through as normal from that point. The Pokemon you choose cannot be a member of any of your Playthroughs you have posted online (it's up to you if you apply that to ones used in your own time). You must give each pokemon four egg moves and are not allowed to teach over said egg moves. When you breed your pokemon you are not allowed to grind for perfect stats but are allowed to use whatever parents you have access to and grind for the moveset you desire. Another thing, you must breed the youngest form of the pokemon (an example if you choose Mantine you must hatch a Mantyke if playing gen 4 or later). You are allowed up to two extra pokemon which are solely to be used for HMs (if necessary) and are not allowed in battle. Beyond those two you are not allowed to capture anything blah blah blah the point of this challenge is even if it may not pose an insane difficulty it allows you to use pokemon your otherwise never use and the biggest issue is the preparation it allows you to actually use pokemon on your team that you otherwise never have a chance to use. It may not be what everyone is looking for but it also provides a chance for you to get creative with your team.

#1 Any Eeveelution
Use an eeveelution become a god
Andrew Wittenberg Breloom is amazing
I use Breloom. Breloom is nuts
Whenever I’m missing a type: that’s when Evee joins the crew
Wow it's incredible that you have never used an eeveelution before. I mean they aren't exactly the most bulky, minus maybe vaporeon, but all of them are well designed and absolutely adorable. Glaceon's cry is probably my favorite cry of all time. Speaking of eeveelutions, has Michael ever done a video in regards to eeveelutions yet?
The only pokemon that have never used at all in anyway for any reason is simisear. and I dont want to, I love pansear but hate Its evo
Also I love the Pack Attack idea, do more of it
11:51 Shield has the Lotad evolutionary line at route 2, and it's very useful, being a Scorbunny/Raboot/Cinderace user.
I could've sworn Kalos also had the Lotad line in the waters. Though unless you can fish it out, you'd probably have a full team of 6 by the time you can even encounter them since different Pokemon are everywhere in those games.
I JUST realized Donphan is a tire.
never used a Machamp, Alakazam, Ludicolo, or Magnezone
Alakazam is a unit why didnt you use one
@@genericname2593 I just could never trade with anyone 😂 I haven't used most Pokemon you have to trade to evolve actually.
@@yakuzamoons same here
To this day here's my reaction when I see a Pokemon with a trade reaction.
Ahh man What Leve...oh......Ah Shi....😂😂
I want an Alolan raichu and i rarely ecounter a pichu. And when i found it, i already had a grubbin
@a random guy I looked for that fucker for half an hour and it was a pain to raise. But once it evolved into alolan raichu I regretted nothing
Lombre can be found in Kalos you know, though it's after 6 badges
you can get chinchou in SwSh before the water gym, netting you an easy electric type to sweep the entire gym with.
Mikey: Greetings, Poke-fans!

I used it and usually ran Surf, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt and signal beam
I have used Lanturn a few times and it is good. Not many coverage, but one of the abilities, Lightning Absorb is great.
@@Matsuna13 It's got Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Signal Beam, Surf/Scald depending on game and decent utility moves like Stockpile and Toxic/Thunderwave. I'd say that's a pretty stacked moveset
@@WhimsicottTCG Quite a good move pool, but I normally use special attack moves and a bit of stat boost
@@Matsuna13 Those are all special moves. Stockpile is also stat boosting
Kind of sucks that some Pokemon are just not available on playthrough teams... Trade evolutions just suck
Miror B. Colosseum theme: Yeah this is alright..
Miror B. Gale of Darkness theme: slaps
How dare you. Miror B is an almighty God. He made a team of 1 pokemon work and he made it work well. Besides, have you seen his dance moves?
You should do an Pokemon Talk episode with those plushies in the background. They could be Boy Scouts or adventurers or something.
I would love a video series on the most impractical pokemon to use on a playthrough team for each game.
In sword and shield you just have to go to the fishing spot outside nessa’s gym and fish ( is really easy to get a chinchoa I would know I fished one up first try )
Before the game came out.
All I got were arrokudas
I caught a basculin after 30 chinchous. I was trying to get an arrokuda but I couldn't fish one up.
R.I.P Pack attack
Michael: "I have never used a Ludicolo."
Michael after the 2nd MBF: *cries happily*
A human being nice, but let's be real. Tango was the best
Never used: Golem, Gengar and any of the remaining trading evos...
golett
same.
Gengar is power, machamp is good
I've never used golem tho
simão mateus except in sw/sh bc you can catch them
*In the Background*
New Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game confirmed! 😂
IT'S BEEN 3000 YEARS
Donphan is a very overlooked Pokémon. In the Pokémon Handbook it says it’s Normal type... When you find it in Kalos it says the location is unknown in the Dex...
You and Lumiose Trainer Zac uploaded this type of video at the exact same time😂 Talking about the Pokémon you guys have never used
Rippen_Crippen they might have talked to each other about this
Can you make a video about your favorite memories from each pokemon game? It would be really cool to hear them:)
Freaking title card: Mr. Groth? I don't feel so good...
Edit: What the f#%k happened to the title card?!
