With that much setup and things to keep track of, it really feels like this would've been better off as a video game instead of a physical game, especially as it's solo-only.
@@FosukeLordOfError I do agree that the tactile element is an enjoyable element of playing physical board games, but it does get diminishing returns as the complexity ramps up, especially when you're the person having to keep track of and maintain all the elements.
I love to see more good solo board games. Sometimes you just can't get people for a session of something for a while and this can take the edge off, or sometimes just to do something else that doesn't require looking at a screen.
I wonder if it would've worked better as a co-op game instead of a solo one. Like scrap or alter the Ally part of it and have a hero selection. Like let one player pick Batman who is really good at X, and another player could pick Nightwing, who is good at Y. How the later book sections pan out might mean it wouldnt work but a Bat-Fam pandemic game sounds kind of fun
If you're up for more solo games, I full heartedly recommend giving Final Girl a look, which is a modular one player game where you can combine film boxes to mix horror themed killers, locations, and the final girl characters themselves. If the horror theming doesn't interest you, there's also Hostage Negotiator which uses much of the same game system but removes most/all movement but has a campaign mode and the theming of being a hostage negotiator in high tension situations trying to save as many hostages as you can.
@@X-SPONGED YES! It came out a few years ago but I think it might get a re-release for the series and I think it would be cool to have Mordecai review a game he’s in
Yeah I hate games that use these flimsy tokens that generally adds nothing to the game but take up additional board space, this game looks and feels very ascension-like but I think I generally hate games that take too long to setup and explain the rules. Good board games are those that you can mindlessly pull out your back pocket and play on a small table the rules being so simplistic you don't have to make a big mess on a table to enjoy a game.
Well, it sure does look "fine". The gameplay loop seems interesting, the aesthetic and art is really nice, I love the way it plays out a "Batman versus the world" setup where he's beset on both sides by criminals and cops alike. But as I was watching you explain the game, I found myself thinking "wow, this seems like such a bitch to set up", and then you said not only exactly that, but then you zoomed out to show how much goddamn space this thing takes up. Good lord. I don't even know where in my house I'd play this. The game seems cool but it also seems just a little bit too fiddly for, like you said, not enough fun. If this game was like an 8-9/10 guaranteed good time every time I racked it up, yeah sure I'd deal with the setup, but I'm not gonna clear out a whole room or big table and spend all this time meticulously setting up tokens and cards for a mid time.
I've had a game reviewed before. I just reached out to SungWon's listed email and eventually got in touch with him to get an address and send our game.

Moving things in physical space can be fun too
@@FosukeLordOfError I thought that too until I played Magic in person with a +1/+1 counters deck 💀💀💀
@@hardfoil I mean I love digital adaptations and play a lot of that, but I also know people that really like the physical interactions.

@@EmporerDragon also fair. I’m pretty pro digital adaptation, but think it’s cool when it can be done physical
I don’t think it’s a solo game if batman has Justice on his side

I do love how you explain the rules as I get easily distracted or confused so thank you for the clear explanations!

Thank you for filming content and keeping us entertained!
I see you like Legos there’s a pretty good Lego set called the office based off the TV show
Even if you're not much of a comic book reader, I would highly recommend the animated movie for The Dark Knight Returns
But not the Killing Joke. Stick to the book for that one lol
TBF in both cases the comics are far superiro, but yeah the killing joke is a special atrocity @@UltimateChallengeKit

I like the whole review, really gave a good overview of all the mechanics. You had some good insight
Like the new background setup
I'm curious to see what Sun Wong thinks about the Animated Series board game.
I love this game already! If only I had friends...
It's a solo game though?
I think with Gordon as a “companion” this should totally be a Two Player co-op game 😅
Sungwon, lovely background music for this! Wish I knew what it was
I believe it is from the latest Animal Crossing soundtrack.
to me, a non- gamer, i find thaat a single player board game is a bit of an interesting idea.
The board reminds me of Unmatched...
That is a BIG ol' box...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it would be a good idea to review the Lackadaisy board game! would it?
There's a board game?!??!!

I clicked on this because I thought I saw my favorite map movement and range stuff for a board
This looks like an awesome board game experience, I'd love to try it out if I got the chance
Yeah, doesn't seem like my type of game, but I do like the BATDICE.

Is there a process to get into the queue to have a game reviewed?

Thanks!@@skyelarsen8172
I need a huge-ass table to set up this game or heck just go ghetto and use the floor of your room, lol.
Man return to ham aslume 🙀
Your Arkham is showing
amazing video and stuff
looks ok, but I'm not much of a solo player for board games

This doesn't seem very fun TBH. Thanks for the review.
I don't think I could ever play a solo board game.
