Im its a beautiful locomotive i remember as a child when it came through knox indiana in 1996 it was going through my home town and my grandparents took pictures of it going through knox indiana but at that time the pictures wasn't good quality and the locomotive was going too fast high balling through town to get any good pictures but i wish 611 would go through knox indiana again so i can retake the pictures again
Now that whistle is how a steam loco whistle should be. Beautiful locomotive.

Totally agree. Loud, deep, and powerful. And it clearly sounds like “whoot, whoot”!
Krista Foster I’m sorry but by 1996 Norfolk and Western 611 was in the VMT cold and dead there’s no way in 1996 you saw 611 under steam
North Carolina Transportation holds bittersweet memories for me.
I've not seen a cab on a steam locomotive that luxurious before.
I’d much rather be addicted to pulling the whistle on a steam locomotive than be addicted to something else
Oh my gosh...I'd pay BIG MONEY to do this! AWESOME 👍😁
Nice work on the whistle. On my run in 2016, I was too damn excited, and didn't concentrate on the whistle like I should have. Next time.
What an amazing experience you must’ve had! Video was great!
I wish I could’ve videotaped myself doing the same thing last year! But for some reason they didn’t allow it :(
Is he ever gonna take his hand off the wistle
I was here September 1st. I didn’t drive but I got a cab ride
How long is a cab ride
We need to talk sometime lol I have a bunch of questions to ask you I'll be at the Strasburg Railroad for the 611 events
I'll be there as well, but I think I'm gonna be relatively busy, but if you see me, feel free to say hi.
He was wearing an Amtrak shirt.
How much was this
no clue, but some places let you drive for a couple thousand
@@northernrailphotography i think they charge 611 for it
When I did my engineer seat at Strasburg it was just over 900, depends on the RR and what VMT come up with
