This turned out great!! The tiny tunnel lights! The miniscule chains! The gems and bones! I really enjoyed all the nerd content (got worried at first when you said Shelob was in Moria 😳 but I should have known to trust your dad's lotr knowledge 😎). It was really fun seeing how active Nope is in the big, enriching space! Thanks for always advocating for better animal husbandry 🥰🕸️
Thank you. Nope does see to enjoy the extra space. She's been doing a lot of excavating the last few days. I guess the burrow dad made for her was not quite right. lol
That is just the best name for a spooder. I too am scared of tarantulas, but the Blue Bottle Green is so gorgeous I might be getting one eventually. Good thing we don't need to handle tarantulas much if ever! LOVE themed enclosures!!
My mom is like you as far as the spiders go, and she cannot imagine keeping one. Honestly, neither can I, but thanks to exposure via other tarantula keepers, Lucas the Spider, and other arachnid related content, this past summer I did not freak out when I discovered a jumping spider using me as a tree on more than one occasion! Not to say I was exactly happy, unexpected spider is always Bad News, but I was able to remain calm enough to safely remove the spiders and put them elsewhere unharmed BEFORE doing the full body shudder and flailing, which honestly, is all I ever wanted when trying to conquer my fear. You did awesome in this video! Keep challenging your fear, and you will eventually gain enough mastery to suit your needs. Nope is a beautiful ambassador animal, and she has definitely grown since we first met her. I think the enclosure suits her perfectly! And while there is no proof or evidence of their presence in the mines, honestly, there is no reason why at some point in history some of the Mirkwood spider colony could not have moved into unused portions of Moria, and only Gollum would ever know for sure... at any rate, it looks amazing, 10/10, would move in if I were small enough, lol.
huh, i wanted to update my leopard gecko home to something lotr related, so since shire is my favorite place I thought id do that, although little smaug living in shire is very wrong. But now i think i should make that smaug cave from hobbit... and a humid hide can be a mount of gold, hehe
I absolutely love this video!! My bestie and I have a reptile room. I am the snake lady. She is the gecko girl. Now all of a sudden she has 15 tarantulas and I’m like NOPE!! You can take care of that shelf all on your own!!!!
I still have some baby Dumerils Boas and Macklots Pythons for sale. You can email me at the address in the 'about' section on my channel page for more info. I am able to ship within Canada.
Praying mantises are awesome! Crazy intelligent, and they act it. I'd say if you want to get into keeping bugs, they're a pretty good start. They also usually live only eight months to 2 years in some species, so they're not a super long term commitment if you find they're not really for you. Also... Never say never! Three years ago, tarantulas were at the top of my (perhaps fittingly named) "Nope list" and now I have one... And want more. Kept a couple little beetles once and.. I dunno. Something clicked.
I don't think that's too much of a concern. Except for the glass, which she's recently decided she likes to climb, the surfaces are all very rough giving her lots of grip. The enclosure is only 12" tall, she's about 3" long now, so even if she slipped from the top, it's only a few inches of drop before she hits the 5" of loose substrate to cushion her fall (most of the 'rocks' on the floor are actually made of foam). With a lot less substrate, she actually would have had a bigger fall from the top of her old enclosure that she'd been in for the last 2.5 years.

I immediately went 'that wasn't in the mines of Moria!' 🤣 The enclosure turned out awesome!
I think so too!

Well done staying calm with surprise spiders. I know exactly how you feel in those cases!

That could work. Ooooorrrr you could imagine it's Smaug''s cuter, derpier cousin who settled in the Shire and made friends with the hobbits?

I feel that!
@@AllCanadianReptileGirl I feel like you should make the trip to Tinley in March so I can meet you! ❤️ lbvs
I love Nope so much, you should definitely make more content with her. she's adorable!!
she's something... I don't know if adorable is the word I'd use, but she's something...
Ok now thats one of the most bad ass enclosures i think i have ever seen .great job Dad
It turned out really well, I think!
I love this enclosure. I do not understand your arachnophobia, but I am also terrified of clowns, so I will never judge.
To be fair. Clowns can be pretty creepy too. No judgement here either!
That's a fantastic build!
Awesome enclosure! That would win ANY build-off! Great job to both of you. Keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍
Nice enclosure build. I like how it gives hiding space and its design. 🙂👍🕷
Thanks, I think it turned out great!
@@AllCanadianReptileGirl you're welcome
The Lord of the rings references were on point 👌
Hey there, wondering how we see what snakes you have if any available for sale? Thank you in advance!

I will not get a tarantula. At all. May be a Millipede. Maybe. I don't like bugs at all. I think pre-mantis are pretty cool though.

New subscriber (referral by Paleo Analysis). Excellent video.
Welcome aboard!
Great video guys. I'm just scared that she will fall from hight and hurt or kill herself
