Zero they are €2000. It’s not bad for all the time that goes into it. Also the value is still there after you buy it, I just mean the secondary market for them is still high.

Each one has to be hand built and hand tuned by a craftsman taking lots of time! They can't be built by machine or by Chinese factory labor.

Looking at how it's done, dropping it from enough height would be a somewhat expensive way of losing the tuning.

Was watching blacklist on Netflix. Decided to take a break to eat dinner and came across a handpan video on FB. Came to TH-cam to find another handpan groovy number to listen to for later. Came across this video instead and forgot to get back to the very interesting Netflix series. I was so engrossed in the process of how this sublime sounding instrument is made by this amazingly talented man. Specially how handsome he is and how pure his happiness is with what he does. I am totally crushing over him rn.❤️ His sweet smile made this video so worth my time. Thank you.

Of course the player, the maker are amazing but just look at the editing, directing, cutting, sound engineering the unsung heroes, the ones that delivered the reality and feel, the unfinished and finished in a very playful, smart and beautiful way. You are the talent behind the talent.

I've always wanted these so badly, but the hard process just to make one of these is incredibly astounding. When I do have the money, I'll buy one, one day. Along with a tuning hammer, start hammering away on things in the stores, parks, poles, tune a dent out of a car, you name it. There's so much that could be done with that tuning hammer and other objects. Make a steel roof over the porch, with hammered in notes. So when it rains, the notes will play too.Just softly.

Probably the best almost-random TH-cam click of 2019 so far!
The fascinating process of making such a thing - into which MUCH more work than I imagined seems it must go - and the... how to phrase it... mystical, almost mythical sound you can get if you have the skills to play it... oh, man!
As soon as I saw the processes and the workshop and the tools, I thought 'this must be a rich man's toy', and then someone made reference to 'three thousand', so I guess 3k Euros or thereabouts.
Worth every single Euro/Cent... if you can spend that kind of money on an instrument, I am sure.
The hours, perhaps even weeks at a time, I would lose to this if I had it and could play it.
I haven't found an 'instrument' this fascinating since I first tried (and failed) to play a didjeridoo.
I would still love to learn how to play a didj', but this... this seems likes it's on a whole new level of... of... of... 'absorbing me' as it were.
Now I want to check out several things related to this.
I saw his gadget (phone?) measuring the (insert technical phrase here) when he was tuning the pan.
What was he measuring? I can grasp the idea instinctively, but I cannot put into words.
Something about Hertz or frequencies or notes (beyond me).
I guess I should now watch more videos about this and perhaps more importantly about musical theory / sound.
Please give me links or key-words to search if you know them, thank you.
Thanks for a really great video.

Seriously, although I have literally (and I do mean literally) no ability to play music, no theoretical or practical knowledge of music, and not a single musical bone in my body, I am going to think carefully about ordering one of these.
Are you (Numen Instruemnts) the maker/man in this video?
I guess you'll have a website, so I might know the answer to that question before you see this.
I ride motorbikes, and at 10% the cost of my latest toy (Yamaha Tmax 530DX), I feel confident that I would get as much enjoyment from one of these as I get from a bike.
You may receive an enquiry from me in an email soon to tell me what I need to know before committing and ordering.

@@HardIsEasy I couldn't agree with Roberts comment more, I was curious to see the making of a hang drum, even though I already knew it was just beating metal into shape and at 24 minutes long I thought I would just be bailing out before hitting halfway. But watching this was a magical journey, the music, the making, the editing all just come together perfectly and I watched the full 24 minutes entranced. Seem like a great bunch of characters too.

Guys, that is just too freakin' cool. What a gorgeous sound. Somewhat similar to the steel drums of the islands, but definitely with a unique and different timbre. Talk about VALUE ADDED! ;-) Bird sounds are ridiculously good.
That tone comes down so quickly with each strike, I'll bet you have to get really gentle for the very fine tuning. And it seems kinda like the measure twice, cut once idea. As in, I've cut it THREE times and it's STILL too short. ;-)
