I love your five in five series, especially for games I've never heard of. Thanks!

Thanks Kevin! Liz and I are both pushing for more war games in the top 100 ;)

Great review, Mike! I love '65 and Mark Walker did a great job with it.

Excellent review Mike, thanks! Been waiting for this one. Glad you mentioned the Solo aspect by itself, and also the 2 handed play for “full” value. Question about the 2 handed play..... is there any hidden elements that would be tough to do playing 2 handed style solitaire?

Yeah, it’s similar to playing Combat Commander 2-handed (if you are familiar with that). When you move, the enemy might op fire you (if they have a fire card in hand), and when you shoot at them they might play a reaction card.
What I used to do for combat commander, and what could work here, is I would shuffle what was left in hand into the deck when a trigger came up, deal an equal number of cards, and reveal them, performing op fire when it made sense. Or heck, you could use the solo deck, with its random ops fire chance, and just apply that to the hand you aren’t playing. Problem solved ;)

One Stop Co-op Shop - Excellent ideas! I am a little familiar with Combat Commander, but don’t own. I got into “The Last Hundred Yards” Tactical system instead. But sounds like you can then use the solo cards for 65’ to at least help the 2 handed play a bit, as you mentioned.... that’s cool!
And just a quick mention here, the game “Combat” by Compass games is also a solitaire Tactical system! I’ve been looking at that too. Expensive, though! It’s got a high rating on BGG! Thanks Mike.

I haven’t tried any compass games yet, but I’ve heard some good stuff. Thanks for the recommendation.

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm planning my top 20 solo wargames video for some time in the next month.

First we had flying frogs and now we have flying pigs? Madness!

I am certainly confused by all the flying mascots. Get your head out of the clouds!!
