    Just a tip you can buy some vegetable glycerin online to add as a lot of people recommend online . It is also recommended using distilled water instead of tap water. Hope this helps .

    Thanks. Came in great for this covid19 times when all soaps are sold out. I am recycling my bath and body works dispenser. Bought castille soap about 2 years ago and never looked into how to dilute it. Very very happy to use it now.

    Followed this exactly with Dr. Bronner's lavender castile soap. Works perfectly! Just ran out, so here I am again to refresh my memory re the order of things. Thx for your clear description. I appreciate your sharing this with all of us!

    I just made this with peppermint castile soap and it smells AMAZING and foams GREAT!! By the way...I reused an old Bath and Body foam bottle, that I had on hand, and it doesn't hold as much as the bottles you purchased. I put in 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup castiles, and it overflowed JUST a little when I put the pumper on. Next time I'll just go a couple tablespoons shy of a cup of water. Thanks for this recipe! I love using castile soap!! I have the citrus scent on my "wish list". :)

    • @butterflyforeve
      @butterflyforeve 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy the unscented and make your own scents using essential oils. I also add jojoba oil to make my hands a little happier from all that handwashing

  • @butteryum

    I love dr. bronners. If the recipe calls for 2oz per batch, you can make 16 bottles of foaming soap from a 32oz bottle of castille soap (not 8).

    I put jojoba oil and essential oils in my homemade foaming hand soap and I use distilled water so it doesn't get nasty.

    I love this Noreen!! We are the same way with hand soap, 1-2 bottles a week. I have a couple bottles of Dr. Bronner's at home. Though I don't have the citrus variety. I'm gonna run out and buy a few foaming hand soaps from the Dollar Tree and refill them with you recipe when they're empty. You just saved my family a ton of money. Thank you!!

    I add vitamin E oil, fractionated coconut oil and an essential oil to my hand soap with castile soap and distilled water so that it doesn't mold or mildew in the container. We go through it but it can still get nasty within days if you don't have an all natural preservative.

    As a soap maker, I hope you are adding distilled water. Too big a chance of mold unless you use distilled water. But I assume you are using it quickly.

    • @noreenskitchenchannel
      @noreenskitchenchannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This container of soap will be gone in less than a week. The instructions did not specify to use distilled water. I have used filtered water as I do for all my cooking and projects. I did not make this with the intent of selling it nor did I make it with the intent of storing it on the shelf for a long period of time so I am fairly certain that mold will not be an issue. Thanks for the comment.

      sueb raschio not all natural, chemical free Castile hand soap with foamer tops you cannot. You can however buy crappy chemical laden non foaming hand soap from the dollar store. Your choice. Nobody is forcing you. This is informative snd you do what you like with that information. The bottles are an investment. You reuse them instead of tossing them in the trash. You should do what is best for you.

      sueb raschio not to mention all of the other uses for the Castile soap. Castile soap is an amazing cleaner for windows, wood, counters, etc, and you have to use very little Castile soap to water ratio. if you consider all of the other uses it is cost effective and natural
