The palettes you referred to as calligraphy ink are actually Japanese watercolors. I have some of the Kuretake, and i lovebthem. They are more opaque than watercolors we are used to.
Hello! Thank you for the clarification! I know some of them were watercolors too - but I really didn't know. I'd like to learn more :) Thanks for watching & the comment~
It’s so hard not to buy a ton of stuff. But I have no consistent income at the moment! So I must *restrain* myself! Thanks for watching and commenting! I’ll definitely be doing more art store tours in Japan :)
I've been planning my trip based partly on a map of stationery stores with exclusive fountain pen inks (map curated by TH-camr The Wet Pen) so to be surprised with a store that wasn't on his list (probably missed it because it's an art supply store) is bringing me joy. That warm brown on the top shelf is totally my jam.
There’s tons of art stores in Japan that will definitely have ink for fountain pens too - consider looking into some others too! My art teacher told me that Kawachi Gazai is the biggest store here (Osaka.) just in case u wanna give it a go! And I agree I almost bought the brown one :)
I knew it was a feather duster since it was written in English - but it was a bit mysterious to me for what. So thank you for the explanation! I hope no birds were hurt in the production of those brushes...
Interesting shop that it's all about cat 😊❤ but I love it manu kinds of painting to choose also frame is plenty! I'm surprised because not all shops can have it all!
I feel like (so far) in Japan there is a wider range of different kinds of paints that I am unfamiliar with. Quality I thought was the same but I was just back in Seoul and bought wood panels - and they were way lighter and cheaper feeling than the ones in Japan (but also cheaper.) I haven’t been to enough stores yet in Japan yet to give a thorough answer- I went to all in Seoul (about only 2 big ones) whereas there are tons of art stores (in comparison) in Osaka
It was a cute small store and I loved it. But my teacher has recommended some other stores for "largest" and "cheapest" - So more to come :) -eventually..... Thanks for watching & commenting :))))

Oooh, I want to go to there! 😂 All those art supplies would be awesome!!!
It’s a cute shop! Lots of stuff for “non artists” too. But my teacher tells me there’s a big art shop so I wanna check that one out!
😯 I would be buying all the Japanese art supplies! They have some of the best quality it’s a really cute 🥰 supply store 🏬

Agreed! I have found my favorite brushes - just regular calligraphy brushes!

I love this store! 😊 I've been so often that they now remember me 😂🥰
That’s sweet! It’s so cute! If it were closer to me and not so darn hot right now I’d stop by more often!!
I remember going to this shop last year! I want to go back
I know it's a very lovely shop! I will definitely be going back.
The big feather duster thing is for brushing away eraser dusts, often used by mangakas

It’s a really cute shop!!! I think it’s definitely a smaller art store in Japan- I’m excited to go to some of the big ones!

Great video! How is art shopping in Japan compared to in Korea? Quality, selection or price wise?
