প্রথমবার নোবেল কমিটিতে সত্যেন্দ্রনাথ বসুর নামে নমিনেশন আসার পর নোবেল কমিটি একটি বিশেষজ্ঞ কমিটি তৈরি করেছিল। সেই কমিটির রিপোর্টে লেখা হয়েছিল:
“Although Bose’s work of 1924 has been an important contribution, but it is not so distinguished as the work of other physicists. Thus it cannot be rewarded with a Nobel prize.”
আমরা সবাই জানি যে, নোবেল কমিটির প্রথম বারের পর্যবেক্ষণ, যেখানে তারা বলছেন, সত্যেন্দ্রনাথ বসুর কাজটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হয়ে ওঠেনি -- সেই পর্যবেক্ষণ আসলে ছিল সম্পূর্ণ ভুল। কারণ ,
অচিরেই দেখা গেল যে বোস-আইনস্টাইন ঘনীভবন তত্ত্বের উপর দাঁড়িয়ে পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের নতুন একটি চেহারা উঠে আসল, গবেষণার একটা সম্পূর্ণ নতুন দিগন্ত উন্মুক্ত হল, একের পর এক বহু বিজ্ঞানী এই তত্ত্বের উপর দাঁড়িয়েই গবেষণা করে নোবেল পুরস্কার পেয়ে গেলেন।
আজ এ কথা তো দিনের আলোর মতোই পরিস্কার যে, মরণোত্তর নোবেল পুরস্কার যদি দেওয়া হয়, তাহলে বাঙালি বিজ্ঞানী হিসেবে সত্যেন্দ্রনাথ বসু নোবেল পুরস্কার পাবেনই --- এ কথা বলার কোন অপেক্ষা রাখে না।

কোভিড, ওমিক্রণ -- এসবকিছু এই নতুন বছরে নিশ্চিহ্ন হোক।

Very good video, but think of it that only Nobel prize is not the criteria for recognition, today Sathyandranath Bose developed such thing that works for the space research, and the recognition of Boson worldwide more valuable than a Nobel prize.
So sad.No need to give Nobel to Great Scientist like Sattyendra Nath Bose.

On hind side, it is the lack of foresight of the Nobel Prize committee to see the far reaching horizon of particle physics that denied SN Bose from receiving the coveted prize.
The Nobel Committee works according to their own rules. We should realize how it works instead of declaring 'lack of foresight', i.e. you are being judgmental. Pl read my reply above, why we should realize how it works instead of feeling the pain.

But that does not mean or imply to limit the human mind to explore and investigate the impact of the scientific discovery that may (or not) hold potential in the future for greater benefit to humanity - that's why I stated "the lack of foresight".
Both prof J C Bose and S N Bose were supposed to be Nobeluarate. There must be some politics.

Acharyya Bose has been very very Indian even by his research without any help or backing from European Scientists( especially British), therefore he lacked lobby. Even Dirac proposed 'Boson' and that was accepted by all but Prof Dirac could have nominated him for the prize but he did not. Only nominations from not so visible Indians could not impress the committee members.

আইনস্টাইন বোধহয় বোসের নাম recommend করতে পারতেন না, দুটো কারনে। এক বোস-আইনস্টাইন কন্ডেন্সেশনে নিজের নাম জড়িয়ে আছে। দুই থিওরিটার ব্যবহারিক প্রয়োগ হয়েছে অনেক পরে। বাকি যারা recommend করেনি তাদের কারন টা বোঝালেন।
যেটা বুঝলামনা তা হল বাকী যারা বোসকে recommend করেছিলেন তাঁদের যুক্তি কি ছিল,

The video reveals the truth only around 5 minutes into the video, acknowledging that the Nobel Prize depends on EXPERIMENTAL WORK, neve on theory alone. Secondly, a dead man is never given the Nobel Prize, which gets repeated around 6:40 mins. We Indians should STOP giving undue importance to the
Nobel Prize itself. Many of the works which have been awarded the Nobel Prize have and will be forgotten. We should delight in the fact that NOW after so many years scientists all over the world have already acknowledged Satyendranath Bose's contributions to physics. Please note that Albert Einstein was awarded the prize for the Photoelectric effect, and not for his numerous other works which were theoretical in nature.
Thus Einstein himself was aware of how the Nobel Prize is given, and correctly did not forward Bose's name, as he himself knew from his own experience. You should not blame Einstein or anyone else. One famous Indian physicist, M G K Menon, recounted in a Bose Institute lecture in Calcutta that he had personally tried to convince the Nobel Committee about S N Bose but met with the same answer that purely theoretical works were never rewarded unless verified experimentally.
