The certainty of which he answered Hedera being in the top 5 was solid, and the seeming ambiguity about the Pay Pal decision makes me put my tin foil hat on in wondering if Ethereum and maybe other crypto's will need to be supported or enveloped by Hedera to meet future green emissions standards.
As the industry matures platforms like Eth will be completely unacceptable due to their energy consumption.

Thanks for asking those questions. Those were questions that I also had and couldn't find anybody to share and ask. Things like why is PayPal building on ETH, I also can't think of a reasonable explanation. I'm waiting for the time bitcoin and Ethereum collapses so hedera can have their market share. Plus mass adoption, this project I believe can go to multi trillion market cap.
BTC and Eth aren't going anywhere for at least a decade.

@@sterlingcampbell2116 the problem with BTC is that is POW and ran by a few unknown individuals. People only want BTC because they want to trade it by dollars in the future, not because it is the best store of value, because it's not. It is slow, very slow, it's lightning network is a joke apparently, so it can never go to mass adoption. When and if BTC reaches that 1 million $ per BTC, people will only want to sell, no newcomers will get in the network, better start a new one where smaller investors can have a better opportunity, once BTC will not be the payment solution of the future. I think the book "The Bitcoin Standard" formatted people minds that BTC is the only solution for the future of money, but money need to be transacted in small amounts as well, and I only see HEDERA prepared for this at a native level. The max circulating supply of HEDERA, the fraction of an HBAR, everything seems to be thought from the start for a worldwide usage.

hope you are doing well.
Could you please explain me the reason for a company or institution to build in a public network using BAR for instance instead of a private network where they keep control and it is not using the native token to work? I believe that in the future Hedera will outperform but the native token will perhaps used by some small companies or individuals for small projects and it won't have a strong impact in the Hbar price. It is fair to understand that maybe huge companies and institutions will use Private Networks in Hedera ecosystem, so the competition between DLTs in the public network will be huge and Hedera does not have the same attraction in this field like Solana, Ethereum, Polygon,... So I'm a bit concerned by Hbar which I believe won't be used ar a large scale. Do not hesitate if you have time to contradict my words in order to clarify this point. :) I wish you a good day, My regards, A Hbar holder.
one reason is for their data to be transparent and verifiable by everyone, for all the concerned parties involved. if it is a private network, that trust is less.
I was under the impression that you can't use the network without owning and spending HBAR. Am I mistaken in this
Hi Julie, thanks for the question, huge companies require both private and public ledgers, forgive me but something I think you’ve missed is that you ca men have a private or public network on Hedera but both require Hbar to transact. I hope that answers your question and concerns. 👍🏻

FWIW, One of the founders, Mance Harmon, has said more than once that the shift from private to public networks has increased from a few yrs ago.
One would think the Governing Council, comprised of organizations that might want to keep IP or proprietary data off of a public DLT, could eventually provide a roadmap or standard for others to follow that would alleviate concerns regarding their private information on a public network.
Would that not be part of the governance of the network?

@mwalkerwilliams Max, I do have a view. I suggest hbar is superior software, yet we seem to lump in with crypto. Maybe he feels bitcoin , like myself, is inferior to gold. So we can have bitcoin in the long term diverge from hbar by way of example. That may be 10 years away. Bitcoin is not software.

The reason Paypal is using ETH is because you have access to the Ecosystem and the largest amount of customers and least amount of risk not having to use bridges etc. Not to mention the Enterprise ETH Alliance is a powerful group to allow a justification of using Blockchain at all.. Tech is not the most important thing for Corporations.

Great video, thank you. Can you elaborate your meaning of “ the higher the price, the more secure the network”? Does this only pertain to the fact that it would take more money to influence the price fluctuations?
The only way a bad actor could take control of the network is to own more than 34% of the total tokens, the higher the price, the harder this is to do 👍🏻

Can you ask about the governing council needing 250mil hbar? Thats $14mil at current prices.
As the network usage rises and hbar rises so will the cost of becoming a council member, making it a greater and greater barrier to entry.
Not to mention those first council members you got will now be approaching their 2nd 3 year term, so they'll be dropping off.
Doesnt seem sustainable. And doesn't seem like you're gonna fill all council positions any time soon...
Early GC members didn’t have their term start until 2019/2020. So some do have their first term coming up
After watching a couple more videos, i think the members might not start to rotate until after all 39 seats have been filled.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
@@johnnyjohnjohn4216i recently dug into this having had the same concern and you're correct. The "timer" doesn't start until all seats are filled.
I believe the amount required to operate a node is 100m Hbar not 250m but I could be wrong about that, either way it’s a relatively small amount to the GC members, who collectively account for 1 out of ever 22 dollars in the whole worlds GDP!
If a new GC member were to struggle with that amount (can’t see how) then they could always get a loan of Hbars from the Hashgraph Association.
@DWK33 it wouldn’t be a loss to lose some of the early guys.

great Interview. I was interested in the section re Elon Musk and XRP. Maybe a reason for xrp being considered is because it has been utilised and developed primarily as a payments & settlement asset and the network has been established over the past 10 years. Also thanks to the SEC, XRP is the only digital asset with legal clarity. How the other DA's get that clarity from the current administration without being sued is anyone's guess.
It’s a crazy situation in American for sure. I’m not convinced XRP do have clarity, we’re yet to see if the SEC appeal. I’ve seen high level court cases go through up to four appeals before a final decision is made.

Great video Max!! But can anyone explain the whole hbar price and the fees paid in usd. If hbar price increased and what not doesnt that mean that businesses will buy less hbar? Thanks
You do have a point there. I usually know what to report to any fud about hbar (not saying you fudding, I feel you are not.) Because if the price of hbar is $1, and they need 10000 transactions then they need 1 hbar. If the price is only $0.10 then they need 10hbar. I hope someone can tell us more here. The only thing I see is if they need to buy $1million worth of transactions than that should move the price regardless, not too sure though.

You are correct. A higher price means less hbar are needed to satisfy the transaction count for a particular use case.
But, like the comment above stated, the amount of money needed to satisfy a particular use case will remain the same.
If 1 million dollars are needed to process transactions for a use case on a monthly basis, 1 million dollars will be needed whether the price of hbar is $0.06 or $60.
@@TrainwreckAt so the 1$million is for the fees, and that is a fixed rate. Fees are the same even if hbar is .06$ or 40$.
@@jaya.1610 Correct, the native layer transaction fees are fixed and users can reliably forecast costs. So, a user wouldn't care if hbar is $40 because it would cost the same amount to use the network as if hbar was trading at $0.04.

The brutal truth is no one knows what is and what is not going to pump or what the future holds…you do provide some value but it’s wrapped in a cloak of sponsors, ads etc…picking individual crypto coins is tough -cause most obviously go to zero over time, when compared to Bitcoin as an investor ..there’s very few TH-camrs who are actually honest most are exploiting their audience for their person gain and that’s unfortunate!! As long as they keep dumping their free tokens on the retail there's no future for HBAR (as an investment)
This is literal nonsense because no one is dumping anything, most Hbar on the market is from retail or grants and secondly because other projects continue to actually dump tokens on their ecosystems and many of them have ATHs far higher than Hedera. Eth has an unlimited supply and an all time high of over $4,000!!

Naive comment. They're not dumping. They're following releases on a schedule like 95% of all successful cryptos. The rate has slowed and will continue to slow until 50b is released.
