Anti freezing tip from Norway (-8 degrees here at the moment): Merino wool camisole, wool socks, wool pantyhose, wool coat, wool hat and wool gloves. Can be made to look somewhat stylish if you find the right ones, but more importantly, helps to keep you well and alive. I wish you warmth, Ame. The sun will return. It always does.
Yes! Good thin wool is very comfortable and soft against the skin, not itchy. And it's shocking how warm it is. I had a thin wool jumper and I always found the insulation ability so impressive.

If you have space for it, you could buy a mini tabletop oven. The element inside is about 1500W, so your inverter needs to be 2000W+. It would use a lot of battery capacity. Vienna is famous for sausages (apparently called Frankfurter wurstl), a boys' choir, and an opera house.

Hi Ame, some tips.
Nothing worst than feeling cold during winter - it's a catalyst for seasonal depression. Try these. They all work very well.
1) heated vest (the ones which use usb power, usually include a pocket to keep a usb battery bank). One charge lasts most of an evening, and if you have two batteries then one can be charging while the other is being used. Any 10,000mah battery bank should work.
2) a usb heater. The ones which look like a big pebble. Slip one in your pocket.
3) they also do the little heaters (similar size to #2) which are powered from lighter fluid instead of a battery. They pack a punch. I was toasty outdoors in sub-zero weather.
4) electric blanket. I'd be lost without one of these at night.
Treat yourself! An investment for your mental health.
Rohan gear you can't beat it for style and warmth
Number 3 would be lethal inside a closed van.
Number 4 is not possible without mains power.
@@carlfenger Not really. The fuel powered ones use a minimal amount of fluid and while in use they are not actually on fire - the fire is just for the first few seconds to get the process working. If it's safe to keep inside clothing (which it is) then being inside a van wont change much.
With the heated blanket. They don’t draw that much power. Similar to an energy saving lightbulb on the lowest setting, which is all that is needed to make a difference.

Problem is that attitude tends to suggest people should choose vlogging for a living meaning they want to kick back, sit back, and live in a semi-vegetateiv state when they could find the working world, like I found, is the best place to find peace. Living an 'in your face lifestyle may be fine calling it laid back is as much a ruse as any child, who does not want to grow into the world, instead pawning themself as a grown up, seeking donations to an obviously extremist narcissist life style.
There are ways to be onself w/o sharing 'the demons that every living, at least intelligent beings just an easy way to fund a nomadic, I don't trust adults, lifestyle, rather than learning to live in a world where one may need help someday if the car is broken down.'

Winter and time change as we have in the US is always a challenge for me.ugh. So I get it Amie. Hey, remember that Kerig I had for the perfect cup of coffee? Well it blew my power box. The power box recovered after about 2 or 3 days of solar charge, but now I am putting together a proper power system. Luckily I have help from a friend who lives entirely off-grid...will update when finished.

Hi from Canada! I definitely feel you with the seasonal depression. Im just counting down the days till spring😅🌸
May I suggest an electric blanket for those nights in the colder parts of Europe. Much more effective than a hot water bottle and a Gigi to keep you warm in bed. They are not too power hungry. They consume about 80W of max power and after about 10 minutes they are nice and toasty. If you want you can keep it on at a lower setting, about 40W or so, to keep you warm during the night if it's really cold. Just an idea...

I cannot believe its like only 38 days to Xmas!! 🌲 I try to deny its autumn as well and still wear light clothing and start freezing to death, then when it gets real cold I cave in and change to winter gear. Ame don't worry there's a lot of us out there who go through seasonal depression. I can't stand winter time, it's to dang cold out and gets dark way to early. I get cabin fever pretty bad. I would really go insane living in a van like you do. It seems like it would be really claustrophobic. I don't know how you do it Ame. Hats off to you girl.

Thought I was gonna skip watching you this Friday and catch up later in the weekend then I found nothing to watch so I tuned in. I am still a fan and feel the same way when I see one of my own children . I dont really miss them till I see them and then when its time to go I feel good about that too. I know that someday will come when there will be changes to this lifestyle and I they are not always what you may expect in life but they all happin for a reason and you will keep going remember that. Have you seen the long hotwater bottles? About the entire length of my torso, long & thin. My dear van loving friend bought me one from B&M. She called it something rude 🤣 It was a life saver last weekend - busted diesel heater, 2 degrees C at night. I slept like a baby. Getting up was trickier but there's always coffee!
Maybe a break from van life is needed.
