New Caledonia then lost to Tahiti in the final. In the Confederation Cup, Tahiti lost 1-6 to Nigeria, 10-0 to Spain, and 8-0 to Uruguay. Really put NZ football into perspective.
Something I can't understand: NZ battles a lot with this teams, but then, if they make it to a Confed Cup or a WC their performance is much more decent, however it's not like that if these smaller teams like Tahiti, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands or Fiji have a chance.
huge hope for the future :) Since australia leaving and the last ofc cup I knew it will happen one day... unfortunately for all new caledonian, tahiti got the final word. but oits amazing and I hope that we will one day go to world cup final. :) If new zealand can we certainly can too!!!! allez les cagous, et bonne chance aux vahines pour la confed cup!!!!
Wow!!! I`m in shock!!! it`s amazing the way they wins the match whit personality and soul! Regards! from MEXICO! just for the record... the uniform of NC it`s like of my favorite`s team of soccer here Veracruz :)
@@thehandleisuseless look, i know 2014 was a terrible year for Brazil but today Brazil is passing through a Reformulation and have a New Generation of players, believe me, Brazil is strong now
it was a historic victory for New Caledonia and an embarrassment to new zealand, but victory would be better if he had won the title but lost to Tahiti the same selection that catch everyone in the Confederations Cup 2013 and the World Cup playoffs 2014 I'm in second place again and lost both games to new zealand, but are to be congratulated for it seems that football it is evolving slowly
Wow, congrats, New Caledonia. Incredible, we'll see Tahiti or New Caledonia at Confederations Cup! I hope any of these teams will manage to advance to World Cup too =)
will start the month of March 2015 with that play off with 4 weaker selections, then started her group phase in October 2015 and will until November 2016 provided with the final
How did these guys get a draw with Italy in 2010?? LOL! They can't even beat New Caledonia, who are probably worse than Faroe Islands and San Marino!!!!
i disagree. Its very good for us in the pacific. im new caledonian but extremely happy for the tahitians. its the main sport in my country and we have had no chance against australia and new zealand for decades. its a bit like a few years ago when i heard things like 'australia reaching the last 16 of the world cup is bad for football' . being australian too I think it was one of the best thing in football i have experienced.
@GustavoCLa I disagree with you, I like it with there separate confederation because it allows teams like SOL, PNG, FIJ, VAN, and NCL to win a few games and make them feel like they aren't that bad.
just adding content to my comment. New cal and tahiti are huge football nations in the region with a long rivalry. when i was a kid in the 80s I always remember this rivalry during the pacific games. however we were always trashed by australia and new zealand which were then non football nations. So just because you believe we are subpar compare to other federation winner, how in the world is it bad for football if we are fair winner instead of new zealand?
New Zealand are lucky this tournament doesn't determine the World Cup qualifier. Merely advances 4 teams to the next round. Though I agree with that, groups should determine World Cup qualifiers, not one off matches. But Tahiti or New Caledonia will be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Brazil and Spain and Uruguay at the Confederations Cup as Champions of Oceania.
And New Caledonia could win to New Zealand again in the OFC Nations Cup 2016 if it wasn´t for the butterfingers goalkeeper of New Caledonia that gave the pass to New Zealand
It's bad for football because there at least 100 countries in the world which have better football teams but that won't play in the Confederations Cup because they take part of other confederations. New Zealand going to the Confederations Cup is not good neither. All these teams should play in Asia to deserve it. Australian reaching the round of 16 was a good thing because they had to beat real teams to reach there: Uruguay (qualifying), Croatia, Japan, so I respect it. No shortcuts.
Well done to New Caledonia but I don't think anyone in New Zealand Football actually thought about this tournament! 5 games in 10 days [yes they all play the same amount but no aclimatisation to 39 degree heat and humidity], terrible pitches, terrible referees with dubious decisions! What other team is subjected to this? What happened to home and away matches? The dice were totally loaded.
Go dance your carnival and don`t gloat. It`s just an underestimation, nothing more. Sure it won`t happen again. But anyway New Caledonia was good and deserved this victory, we should recognize it.
To compare the conditions of play in this ridiculous stadium with the conditions of play in NOrth or South America is ridiculous. Regarding referees, they're terrible everywhere.
oh well..... there is the world cup for that.... 90% of the time no ofc member will take part .... but for the fedration cup you need a ofc winner participant. and only one per fede...
Один хрен, "киви - намбер ван", так всегда было, есть и будет))) На Чемпионат Мира попадём мы, а не Новая Каледония)) Кстати, поздравляю тебя с победой сборной России над Чехией - раскатали по полной, молодцы.
I love the atmosphere, it's really unique. I'd love to visit an Oceanian Cup game one day.
Respect to New Caledonia! From Argentina!

They may be not the best teams, but I enjoy it when everyone is so happy when scoring a goal! Respect from Germany

That stays in the history ! ;)

I'll answer my own question. The song is here:

You shouldnt be talking with justin beiber in your profile

weird!
and the finish by new Zealand was poor it should have been 4-2
New Caledonia or Tahiti playing in the Confederations Cup is bad for football not good. OFC should be merged into Asia.
Shut up idiot, ur just mad that your little new zealand lost.
lol if mexico loses to n nealand.....
