I think Chamayou is one of the Greatest Artists in our generation!
I love his appropriate use of the pedal and solid posture uncommon to pianists of this generation. Of course, the music and the program as a whole was very well done. ❤

Ouch! You are using this music wrong! It is usually prescribed for sublime transcendence. For a mild headache you can use something else...

Thank you for posting this recital. Bertrand Chamayou has given us superb CDs of music by Liszt, Schubert, Ravel, Franck and Mendelssohn, as well as a recent one of Debussy chamber music. Let's hope that there's some solo Debussy piano music in his future plans. And I wouldn't mind one of Saint-Saëns's music as well! :)
You forgot about Chopin, Skryabin, Rakhmaninov.....

Was Saint-Saens a great pianist? This was a fabulous program full of exquisite pieces, by the way.
He was one of the very best actually!
Not only that, but this type of playing (Chamayou, here) is absolutely in the style and tradition of Saint-Saens and a 'French School'.
Look for a video named "Saint-Saëns plays Valse Mignonne". You'll be amazed.

As someone with basically no knowledge of classical music I wonder about the comments here comparing great musicians. Isn't it just about enjoying these great sounds rather than having some kind of competition?
Yes, I completely agree with you. I guess it's just human to try to compare whatever we can however little sense it makes.
It can be very interesting to compare these artists, a comparison doesn‘t need to elevate one above the other.

Which came first for Franck, this little suite or his dreamy Symphony?
The Prelude, Choral and Fugue was composed just 4 years before the Symphony. 1884 and 1888.

The magnificent musician-pianist makes the likes of Horowitz and Gould look like amateurs.
I wouldn't go that far, wouldn't compare him to pianists of earlier times. However, what about Daniil Trifonov, and others?
