I’ve been using the G1 for tons of my pro video and photography work for the past 2 years. I’ve been super impressed and it’s probably my most used lens. I’m excited to check this new version out!
For photography, I only need 2-3 stops of IS for extreme low light photography. Get my shutter speed down from 1/200th to 1/50th, ISO3200 instead of 12800. I dont need tooooooo much smoothness if I'm not going to be doing video.
Would you say the 28-75 G2 & 70-180 G2 is a better combo than getting the 35-150? I already wider lenses (16-35 GM, 20 G and 35 GM lens). I am more of a video shooter than photo (70%-30%) and I was wondering since you have tried all these lenses, which one would be better for event & sport videography? Since the 35-150 has more and heavier glass elements but the same focus motor, would it be able to keep up with sports like basketball on an FX3 or A7IV?
cool video! and yet, what is your opinion, which is better to buy - ZVE1, or FX30? I used ZVE1, I liked the dimensions, I didn't really like the case and grip, but I was more concerned about the lack of a second slot for the card and questions about heating. how much will I notice the difference in the picture on the fx-30? how much more noticeable is rolling shutter here? I really like the look, cooling, 2 slots, but it makes APC-S think... What do you recommend? at night, in general, I do not take off
I have both. Depends on your goals. For vlogging and lowlight full frame. ZVE1 IS A BEAST. FX30 is good too for the dual slot and fans. For cinematic work or professional work. Since I vlog more on social I use zve1
I’ve used the G2 for 2 concerts so far, bought it used “mint” recently and I’ve found it quite convenient to handle. However I can’t assign any functions to the controls via the Tamron app. It just allows me to select options to “hold for 1 second” or to “press”. When I tried AF MF with 2 switch positions, it didn’t change at all. I’m using my A7C first gen. Should I contact the Tamron support? Any opinions ? Thanks!🤔
Hi @@KenseiAkatsu I started to record my teams soccer matches and will probably buy a Sony ZV E-10, would you recommend the Tamron 70-180mm 2.8f G2 or the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS (SEL70200GM) lense, regarding the recording quality (+ maintaining autofocus while zooming in and out) etc. I would love to hear your thoughts :)
Can you please advise, I can't make my mind between this lens the Tamron 70-180 g2 and the new Sony 70*200 F4 macro lens. I'm thinking to get the Sony but the F4 is making me hesitated as I do a lot portrait as well. But I like the idea of getting sony glass as it performs much better with Sony camera of course. How do you see it. Thanks so much for helping me out.🙏
It might be an interesting coincidence: if you was in the Fujikavaguchiko at November 26, 2022 I might have seen you photographing an indeed interesting view of Fuji over some small supermarket with white lightning store sign well harmonizing with the mountain. I saw a Japanese guy very similar to you and with a similar style clothing holding the Sony (may be FX-3 or FX-30 or may be even other model...) standing on the opposite side of the street. I thought to myself: "this is indeed a good view he found and I would like to take it too", but I couldn't afford to wait for you since I had to catch my bus to Tokyo and I went by. If it was you, I think it is remarkable, since I discovered your channel absolutely accidentally and didn't even recalled that moment. Only after several videos I watched on your channel I suddenly though on it. May be the world is indeed so small that it is possible. However all the best with your creations.
Hey kensei I just wanna say you are amazing and keep up the great work. I have finally saved up a decent chunk towards my dream of video production and content creation. I was wondering If you think this option is still viable in 23 going into 24. Planing on buying Fx3 with 24-70 gm II , 50mm 1.2 gm. I have about 10k budget gave or take. would you go this route still or a different way?
Kensei, I love your work and especially your way of making videos. I have a question about the film settings on my Sony A7 IV. Do you have a particular setting that you use and can recommend? For example XAVC HS 4K, 50p, 100M 4:2:2 10bit? And what shutter speed and aperture do you use? My problem so far is that my videos are jerky and not sharp enough. Best regards from Germany
Awesome video as usual. BTW, does anyone know how to change the IS MODE(normal/active)? From the utility software? Thank you for helping me, if you know that!
Great! Can you make a Step-by-step on what to learn after buying a camera for beginner video content creators. From editing, to color grading and ideas of filming.
this jittering when panning is not acceptable, i saw it in other review, i thought that was some error but you admit same thing, looks like gmII is the one reasonable purchase, thanks for video, as always good stuff
tamron silently just droppend this shit.. but now I can finally tell people why tamron lens looks good. its the highlight thingy that makes it look like a cinema camera. but the tamron 17-50mm f4 really shook me because I had just bought the tamron 17-28mm f2.8 and I reach home to see this lens and was like... faaaaaaaak. then I see the f4 and I was like meeh. I am still waithing fot the 17-28 to be updated so that I can sell my to get the newer one. I found the picture quality and the AF to not be as good as my tamron 28-75 g2. mostly the AF
Well since this is basically the same prized or even more expensive than the original tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2 they had for canon and nikon dslrs, and its pretty much on par, the 70-200 having way better optical stabilization, makes me sad about the pricing. It sould be cheaper.
Hello bro i have just started as a wedding photographer i have sony a7 m3 and i have 28-70 f3.5 - 5.6 and now i am a bit confused which lens to buy 35mm/85mm or should i buy tamron 70-180 f2.8 bro can you please suggest??
Beware of that lens!!! I have that lens and wanted to warn you all that it performs very badly at f2.8 at night. I love shooting cities at night and the lens has HUGE astigmatism or coma (idk). When you shoot some street lanterns very bad artifacts pop out. It could be seen in your test if you moved it a bit slower. I am thinking about selling it, but the only thing holding me down is 67mm filter. I dont want to buy new filters for sigma which doesnt have such artifacts. Besides that it is very well done lens with nice weight and price (when you grab the cashback). P.S. It was sent to official Tamron service center in Poland (Proclub Warsaw) and they contacted Tamron, and they told itbis by design. I think it may be factory issue that they want to hide not to loose fortune.

I heard dust issue around the glass in G1. Have you test the G2 ?
You can convince me to buy any lens, it's a true gift and talent.

Which tele lens do you think is best IS for handheld shooting? Thank you❤
I maybe have missed it, but how was the stabilization on ZV-E1 Active Dynamic and this lens? Also, is it par focal?
I loved the G1 and I'm surprised at how much better is the G2. Beautiful images especially bokeh.
Great Video as always, Mentor.
Please, don’t forget your post production color grading video breakdown for beginners

How does this lens compare with the Tamron 35-150 as far the quality of the glass is concerned ?
Thank you for making this video Kensei
Sounds exciting, hopefully the 35-150 f2-f2.8 will have Lens IS soon. ✊😅 Cool vid as always.
I love that lens but soo freakin heavy for me haha. How heavy will it be with IS lol
Yeah...but it will be so heavy no one will be able to pick it up. 😂

Have you done a video of best lowlight lens and lowlight video setting for Sony camrea? 👀
I really want to see you review Tamron 18-300mm for APSC someday 😆😆 seems like a crazy funny lens to try.
Thanks for this review. Help me make a good decision!
What computer do you use to edit your videos?

man all these third party lense companies really stepped up their game lately.

For third party lenses it should have been cheaper than 1300. I would rather pay a little more and get the Sony 70-200 2.8
Dude
The Sony one is almost 3000$
