Thankyou guys so much for watching and a special thanks to my sweet handful of patrons! See y’all next weekend for state #16!!! :D
Thank you Gina!! What fitting song for this particular video. Miranda Lambert is one of my all time fav singers. You have a definite knack for making everything absolutely exciting and comforting. Thanks so much for sharing 😊
What a beautiful time of the year to go for a hike in Virginia! Going 'home' always has its pros and cons, but generally the longer you're away, the more nostalgic it gets when your return. Obviously you enjoyed the visit, but then you are almost always happy and positive. Just a wonderful personality! And you sure do cowboy boots & white shorts proud!
WOW, that was hard ! Before I could type a comment I had to dry the river. May God Bless you Gina for all the compassion you have for your father, and God Bless Melvin, and both Gabe's. I just love you and your videos, thanks
Thankyou!! ❤🙏
Hey you, now I know why you are such a foodie 😋, hometown has so much good food, I will try a Milton someday,i love ❤️ all those ingredients. And that Bacon St Bagel 🥯 looked amazing 👏, even taste better now with the new wrapper, lol 😆. The hike 🚶♀️ and views from sharp top were stunning. The Mexican food looked incredible 😲. Your house 🏠 looked like a wonderful place to be a kid growing up. Loved 😍 Mel's garage I can tell they were such special places in your smile! Your making Dad proud 👏 Gina every moment of your life. Peace ✌️ until the next one!
Okay..that was a nice touch to close a chapter with Miranda’s best song ever…
Such a touching moment when you took us back to where you grew up. I wasn't expecting that! The places I remember from my childhood in West Virginia and San Diego are no longer there. You're fortunate that yours are still standing. Thank you for sharing.
I've watched this video many times today and cry like a baby takes me back in time in my life. It was so touching to see you at your house and putting your hands and head against it. You are an inspiration to many people out here. Your father is looking down and is so proud of you.❤
@@Eric-rn9zl this is the sweetest comment. Thankyou ♥️♥️♥️
My dad has been gone for 33 years and my mom for 14. I saw your face and could feel your sorrow. Your parents did a great job. You are an amazing soul! As I told your mom once, I m here if you need anything.
It’s so refreshing to hear you sing 🎵 I’m enjoying your channel 🫶
@@UnWindDaily2 thankyou! 💖
You amaze me with every new video! Safe travels. I'd love to drink a margarita with you!!
I've actually been to Lynchburg VA, My parents uprooted from California for less traffic. I stayed in Cali for another year or so, but ended up doing my Army schooling at Ft Lee ( now known as Fort Gregg-Adams) I visited them once when they lived there, and saw Ronnie Milsap play at a local church with a small orchestra. Charming small town.
I’m glad the algorithm dropped your videos in my TH-cam path. After discovering you in your Alabama visit, I am working my way through your travel videos in chronological order. They are great; I appreciate your brave and positive approach to life. Speaking as a dad, I’m sure your dad would be very proud of you.
@buzmcg thankyou so much 🩵🙏
@ you’re welcome!
That was so touching Gina! I just started watching your videos about two weeks ago, and I'm already addicted lol... What a great video and what a great tribute at the end!! I love how you love your dad, you are such a lovable caring person with a great personality one can't help but love you!
I am in New Hampshire and saw when you are in Vermont and Massachusetts, I grew up in Boston actually... And I wish I didn't miss you then
Hey kid, it's Jeffrey From WV again. Still trying to raise my grandkids to be like you. Loved this video. I understand what roots mean. The home I was raised in was built in the 1890's. After my parents passed, I was able to buy it. It's where I'm raising grandkids. Keep being you. Love ❤
I just found your videos and your such a joy to watch. I love listening to you and watching your creativity. You inspire me to want to travel! This video was beautiful… my mom passed 2 years ago as well. The grief is hard, sending love!
I only found your channel a few days ago Gina and I’m so glad I did. I started kinda in the middle of your videos and only just now learned of your backstory. I have a two beautiful grown daughters and a grown son and you remind me a lot of my youngest daughter. You are one beautiful soul and your dad must have been an amazing person to raise such a strong deep hearted young lady like you. I grew up in Toronto and you mentioned you’d been there. Well I still live in Canada a couple of hours north of Toronto and I hope if you ever come back this way, you’ll look me up. I am so sorry for your loss Gina, but you are one strong cookie and your dad would be so proud of you. Can’t wait to catch up on all your adventures and follow along with you on your journey. Stay safe, stay brave, stay strong!
Wow best vid yet Gina, from the amazing views, food and then the last stop at your house and dads shop, the tears were rolling ❤

I love hiking Sharp Top, especially in winter! Some nice waterfall hikes just down the road too. I live about an hour away and frequent the BRP in that area.
Bless your heart Gina, i know your dad looks down and you put a big smile on his face. You are always his little girl.😊
I've passed by your home so many times going to see my son and his family in North Carolina . Enjoyed your video very much . 😊

@@EdwardCuplin you are too kind!!! 🥹 thankyou!! ❤️
I drive past Melvin's at least once a week and have for the past 16 years. The collection of vehicles that y'all had there was something else and I was always curious about it. This little glimpse into who owned the property was amazing. Thank you for a great look into the area we have come to call home (granted, there are a few other places we would have picked for the local eats ;-) ).
@@awaicul oh yes he used to have hundreds of cars back there! It really was something else 💙 there are definitely a handful of more local!eats that I would’ve loved to feature but for the sake of keeping the video not too long, I just picked a few. What are some of your favorites??
@ Someone mentioned the T Room already. I was thinking a burger from the Cavalier or pizza at Rivermont. Some Ice cream from Outside the Cone. We are fortunate with so many great little places around here!
I lost my father earlier this year and just found your channel (this video) today. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
@ ahhh I love rivermont pizza and the cav!! I just have a fondness for La Caretta. Been eating there since i was born haha. And I’m sorry to hear about your Dad. ❤️🩹 loss is the worst. I’m glad that you found my channel though and I hope that you continue to enjoy the little weekly adventures 😁
Thanks for another one G! I love our home state. That was a really beautiful way to end the video.

Amazing looking food, and those Autumn leaves. You have such a positive energy, it translates so well to these videos. That ending was a really touching tribute :)
Thankyou so much!! 😊💕 I couldn’t believe the fall foliage this year in VA. I don’t remember it being this colorful growing up and even some locals have said the same thing. Guess I got lucky! 😁🍁🍂

Try Tapatio (Walmart). Have you been out to The Maple Syrup festival in McDowell/Monterey in Highland County? 2nd and 3rd week in March. McDowell VFD has Trout (Local), Ham, and chicken dinners and across the street breakfast. By the way that was a sweet dedication and visit back home. As a Dad myself I can only pray my daughters see me in the same way. You're doing good lady, keep rocking it!
I’ve traveled through Virginia on my occasions in my life. The diversity of the vibe across the state is something that people usually don’t get. People up by Richmond and DC seem so uptight sometimes but the women of the Blue Ridge just make me feel better being around them. Worked in Grundy for a year and I’ve never met better people.
Hey there Tiny Nomad, just discovered you a few days ago. You've been to two of my favorite places in the last couple of weeks, Peaks of Otter and Hanging Rock. Inspired me to get back out there. Climbed Sharp Top last week, took a nasty fall on rocks and wet leaves on the way back down. Tore up my right arm, busted my left shoulder and head. Still, a great day on the mountain! Headed to Hanging Rock this week!
@@rfreeman61 omg!!! Im sorry that you got hurt! That sounds awful! I hope that you heal up just fine 🙏 enjoy hanging rock and be careful! 😅
@@atinynomad No biggy, gonna be fine. I love your life style, I worked too many years at a job that nearly killed me! My Honda CRV might take me everywhere I wanna go!
@@rfreeman61 that’s a great car, I bet it would!
Watching the way you describe food (I'm watching the bagel segment, right now), I could almost get on a plane from Seattle and head for Lynchburg right now, just for a Milton's milkshake with a Bacon Street Bagel. Thanks for showing us your home, Gina (beautifully edited).
@@kenhoward3512 Thankyou for watching!! Glad you enjoyed it 😁❤️

I'm not hungry, I'm feeling a bit under the weather, been trying to finish this bowl of oatmeal with almonds, walnuts, pecans, honey and raisins. After watching you enjoy your bagel I feel inspired to finish it! Hope your travels are always happy and safe... 🙏
I hope that you feel better soon!! That sounds like a nice hearty bowl of oatmeal 👍
@@atinynomad It's always good, but man, a drive to Lynchburg for one of those bagels seems so worth it! I'm taking notes.
I was born in Forest. Assuming that was the La Carreta off Wards rd, my great grandparents used to own some of that property. I think the house was right around where the cracker barrel is now.
When I came across your channel a few weeks ago I said she gotta be a Virginia girl and subscribed and I've spent many days adventuring around Lynchburg and the river although not from there but Virginia bread!! 😊 if you haven't already try old rag mountain it's an all day event but the views from the top are what I live for. Hope to see more and as already said your a beautiful soul and never let the world change that. Happy trails

I didn't know you were from Lynchburg! I grew up in Bedford. When you start the drive to the hike, the store on the right has some of the best jellies you will ever try. I haven't been to La Carreta in forever and do miss it. I go fishing right there at that bar whenever I get the chance!

You can go home again...until you can't. That was well done and hard hitting. How have I been to Peaks of Otter a few times and not done Sharp top? Good food is also usually a matter of time and place. Just dropped by my dad's this morning. Milton's milkshake: on the list.
@@TheJhtlag awesomeeee! 😁😁👍👍
The first time I ever hiked sharp top I underestimated it a little bit, 16 years old with a flip phone and no flashlight. It got dark on me and I didn't think I'd ever get back down lol. You are right, Lynchburg isn't that bad. I moved away once for a year and I couldn't stand being away. I came back and I don't think I'll ever leave again. I pass by your dad's truck every time I have to go to Charlottesville. I actually found a recreation of it on the game farming simulator. I use it a lot lol
Richmond raised. Used to go to Lynchburg for day trips . Humpback Rock Trail!! 😰 If you go left from the parking lot there are nice dispersed camping 😊

@atinynomad thanks followed on insta too, in Virginia when I was looking at accommodation it seems flats and complexes etc didn't seem that much more to rent than than house sharing was that true for you?
@@JGSHD yes Virginia housing and apartments can be much less expensive depending on the location you’re moving to. Northern VA will be very expensive but central VA is where I’m from and much more reasonable. I had a beautiful loft apartment downtown by myself for $750 a month. I’m not sure what the Newport News area is like tho.. never looked into it!
This makes me want to film a hometown tour video. Hope you're doing well, Gina
Hi Gina! Hope all is well.
I was wondering from where your accent was. I was going for South Carolina or Kentucky. So, you are from Virginia.
Have you considered doing a livestream?

I went to school in Amherst Virginia at job Corp not far from Lynchburg it was a beautiful area
Good ole Lynchburg. However I was sure you were going to get a cheesy western, but it was a great surprise that you went to LaCa.
@@AaronNotTodd I did think about the T room and of course I have love for that place but I really have just not enjoyed their food much at all in the past few years I’ve went. The quality just doesn’t seem up to par with what it used to be when I was younger so it wasn’t something that I wanted to put on my channel. I’ve had cold food there and very rude service at times as well. You don’t get that at my beloved LaCa. It’s definitely a Lynchburg icon though that’s for sure haha
@@atinynomad yeah I can understand that, I will say I never really went there for the food, it was more of the shit talking fun. LaCa never disappoints
