Thank you for this! I had no idea that this pen came in so many different finishes. I'm a 1999 buyer of the pen: I recall purchasing it in Minot, ND at a major chain retailer. Mine was the red and black finish. I did eventually give it away, but more recently purchased an all black Indian model that you mentioned. I think this is a better pen than Parker's Vector or Jotter models. I'd love to see them bring this one back.
I agree. Better then Vector or Jotter. And I remember it was fun to check the store I used to go to, in downtown Lisbon regularly (and ask for Parker catalogues) to see it any new variation was released...
A great collection! Some of these would be nearly impossible to gather now. Especially the one from Brazil. That's a gem! However, it is still not the complete collection. I have a full metal version of the pen with checked (engraved lines) cap and body which is fully gold plated. Not custom made. It may be a prototype. I have no way to share the image with you, or else I would have.
Thank you for your input. And sorry for the late reply. I see there is a gold colored one still being made in India and I noticed there are a few more variations I don't have. I think the collection is complete as it was shown on the catalogue by Parker in Europe. But I think there were a lot of variations and experiments that are hard to find and to really know which they are. This model was a missed opportunity by Parker to make something popular and collectible as the Kaweco Sport or the Lamy Safari.
The jotter is ok but you can get these pens on ebay and they are far superior to a jotter, they are not expensive really unless they are the more collected colours.
@@matthewbeddow3278 Thanks for the info Matthew. I know Parker has been around forever and I'd like to get one, but I don't know much about the different models.
@@gadgetstop321 Well Parker pens generally all write & write well . Depends on your budget the sonnets are nice pens but are more expensive than the base model which is a jotter . The IM model is nice , the Urban , the fronter & the reflex I would suggest have a look and see which you like. If you want to go vintage the 45's are pretty reasonable price wise and perhaps are my favorite all time pens . You can also get a decent Parker 51 for around maybe $70 usd up to hundreds for mint condition. I hope that helps.;-)
@gadgetstop321 I agree with Matthew. There are much better Parker pens than the Jotter (and the Vector). I completely agree with Frontier, 45 and even the 25, if you like the very particular design. I need to start reviewing those nice pens.
Hi, how much money would you evaluate the twilight model ? What's a reasonable price for this one, nowadays ? I have it in a gift box paired with an unused bottle of ink from France and inside the pen there is a parker twist converter, the one with the red ring inside of it. Pen and converter is used but in good condition. Only the grip has some tiny signs of peeling, there aren't any scratches or other signs of use on the body. Thank you in advance!
I don't really know. I think the pen for itself should be around 35€. But if you find someone that is collecting the variations of the model and really wants that one I think it can get to higher prices. But that is hard to predict... If I didn't have it I could go up to 100€. But that depends on so many factors...
At school we had to write in fountain pen. You’d find untold amounts of Parker jotters like rice grains in the playground or left on desks at the changeover of classrooms ..I had Parker 25’s, 45’s, jotters, vectors, 15’s. Favourite I think for writing is the 25 - thick, weighted nicely and mature - it had a different design in the 80’s when I had a few. I took them for granted but loved to open my blazer where the upper inside pocket had 5 different Parker clips for 5 different pens .. Parker are so consistent for writing - I feel really good inside when in close to my Parker.
I agree that Parker is a good brand. Sometimes they are not very creative, but many times they are and they make good, reliable writing instruments. The Parker 45 is one of my favourites. Cheap, easy to use and to deal with. And they can still be found in very good used condition for just a little money.
Sorry for the late reply. These have bigger diameter and a different bigger nib. The old Jotter was from a lower level. The current, larger jotter I think is the market equivalent to the Frontier.
Thank you Paulo. Fantastic collection of one of my all time favourite pens . I need to put all mine together because i don't really know what i have, for sure i have some of the translucent including the black which is not translucent but is missing a nib and feed (which i've not been able to get) , i have the red and black model of the two tone ,the green of the translucent , i believe the purple coloured translucent and the last two also i have both , i think i have some duplication also because i used them at work for a long time. They are great pens they write beautifully and you are right they deserve more love and if available now in some new colours set at the right price they could give Lamy a run for their money. Thanks you for sharing a wonderful collection . :-)
NIce collection. I got mettalic grey, burgundy, translucent black, two tone green and black, solour shift dawn, white. White wersion was made in us in Janesville is short series, model number is FP16, i know it because i get in orginal plastic box inside paper. The uk wersions section rubber descend, but us is better made. I think that pen u got from brasil isn't two tone white and grey, it is another wersion, or modification
Nice to know that there are other collectors of the model. Some of my Frontier are made in UK and some are not. Why do you say my White and grey is another version? In fact I don't even know how it should look because I never saw it in any official catalogue, the same with the demonstrator. Have you? Every information would be very useful because I really want to know all there is to know about this model.
I don’t have any catalogue, when u search white and black or grey and black parker frontier u should see it look similar to other two tone frontiers. In us were made to 2000 when the factory was closed. In my opinion demonstrators were made in us and they were pre production speciments. In my country(Poland) two tone blue and black is hard to find. My first frontier fountain pen were white, I bought two brand new stock, and I want to collect all colours in brand new stock. I also don’t know why white wersion isn’t mentioned anywhere and someone at polish fountain pen forum said that called to parker and they don’t have any information about that
I was gifted a translucent green Frontier when I was younger by my grandfather. Unfortunately I have no idea what happened to the pen. I would like to try and get a “new” one again. I can find loads of new green rollerballs. Would the green section from a roller ball fit on the grip section of a fountain pen?
