That was my home when I wore a younger man's clothes. When I dream of Town this is the place I dream of still. Broke my heart when I passed it for the first time after it had been demolished so thank you for the wonderful memories in this video.

Excellent, moving tribute to Town's history. My father took me as a young child in the 60's and held me up so I could stand on the bar of the rail to see the game. I remember vividly him saying, as we walked up the many steps to the stand on my very first visit, that when we get to the top I was in for a surprise; he was right, the pitch took my breath away it looked like a snooker table.
My other distinct memory from that day was that on leaving, the crowd was so large that I literally got carried through the exit gate with my feet off the ground for some distance, but in an orderly manner. Great memories!

Thank you for showcasing the theatre of my dreams.
All because my grandad had 4 grandsons and 1 only granddaughter & he took her/me to every home game, giving a 7yr old girl her allegiance, wonderful memories and the greatests friendships I would never have had.
      30.4.94 was a sad day indeed 🙏 💙

I’m not a Huddersfield fan but I really enjoyed this. Loved the photos. Very evocative of the periods. Happy memories of my team, Nottingham Forest, playing at Leeds Road.

Memories flooding back of us penniless kids climbing into the ground over the wall in the 70's at the 'Chicken End'. Pretty easy if no one was about. You usually had to wait 5-10 minutes into the game, by then the turnstile staff had gone to watch the game and you could just jump over the wall. Also of being outside the big blue gates next to the Cowshed waiting for them to open at three quarter time letting people out but also allowing us urchins in to watch the last few minutes of the game for nothing. I don't know if they still allow that sort of thing. Been a while since I tried. Many a time we watched a match from Kilner bank as well. Great video. Brought back a lot of memories. Simpler times.

Fantastic photos, thanks for posting. My earliest recollections are from 65-66 season (not much pre-World Cup) when Town went close to promotion to Division1 ,finishing 4th behind 1.Man City 2.Southampton 3. Coventry City. After the excitement of our World Cup win I became a regular ,often going to the Reserves games on the alternate Saturdays when first team were Away. It brings back 1000's of memories, not all good ie when Arsenal beat us 3-1 in 2nd leg of League Cup semi-final and I was hoping to overcome the 3-2 deficit from 1st leg and get to Wembley. Went to Blackpool End of an Era game with son and wife and we followed it up by attending the proper LAST EVER game on Friday 13th May 1994 Town Reserves 6 Middlesboro Res 3 , we even managed to nick a bit of turf . All the best, thanks again.

Although I only watched town at the stadium in it's final 4 years, I still have great memories of the place.

This is the best Yorkshire history channel. My family had a market garden in Leeds for about 200 years until we sold it in the 1970s. But we always supported Huddersfield, not Leeds...😆

Nice, but you should have include a picture of the plaque in the retail carpark that shows the centre spot of the old pitch

Went to Leeds Road a few times watching the Clarets. Fine ground and I think our Longside was designed by the same architects who designed Huddersfield’s. Great memories in our then second division promotion season 1972 👍

I once caught a Peter Jackson header in the Cowshed. I remember being a bit miffed at the time because it didn’t go in. Now it’s a fond memory.
