- BMW G310R & BMW G310GS Speedometer features explained with details. BMW has done a good job with the Speedometer layout on the G310R and G310GS. The Speedometer on the G310R and G310R gets the basic Odometer and two trip meters. The Speedometer gets features like digital clock, digital rpm meter and fuel gauge. BMW has gone ahead and provided the G310R and G310GS with average fuel consumption and current fuel consumption read outs. Both BMW G310R and G310GS Speedometer gets engine temperature readings along with estimated range in km. The left and right side of the Speedometer on the BMW G310R and BMW G310GS have indicators and warnings lights which this video explains in details.

the unknown sensor is the gear shift indicator. it turn up when u are at 10000 -11000 rpm and tell u to upshift the gear.

That explains why I've never seen that weird little symbol on the instrument panel of the G310GS. I've only hit the rev limiter once, when a possum crossed the road in front of me at night. I grabbed the clutch while applying the front and rear brakes. I was using the front brake and didn't have time to let off the throttle, so pulling in the clutch lever caused the engine to rev and bounce off the rev limiter. I didn't see the symbol on the dash, but I wasn't looking!
I had the 24hr format before first service in BMW service center. Post that it has been switched to am pm format and even the consumption changed to kmpl instead of ltr/100km. Also the mileage meter is inaccurate. CB300R has perfect accuracy.
yea exactly the range displayed on the console is highly inaccurate and erratic. At times when i ride 1 km it reduces the range by 1 KM but sometimes it reduces by 6 KM or 10 KM. Quite disappointed with the quality of the sensors and ECU on the bike.

Thanks for the informational video 👍 Seems you are extracting a nice fuel efficiency! My general tank range hovers around 300-320 kms.
Once I let the tank dry up when the console mentioned that the bike had fuel for 25 kms only. Then I filled up 9.5 ltrs. So I believe that even after the distance to empty reaches 0 kms there might still be some more kms left, but that’s something that shouldn’t be experimented with 😄
The console doesn’t directly show the fuel efficiency within a trip/tank full but one can find it by looking at distance to empty and adding it to kms travelled in Trip 1 and then divide by 11. It’s quite close to the actual fuel efficiency that I calculated using tank to tank method.

no TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) on it.. and yes the tires are tubeless

Yes. The G310 instrument panel can display imperial or metric units.

if the speedometer has language setting option then set the language to English (US) instead of UK.. this should solve the 24 hr format

Press the button to cycle through the menu items (top of the display). When you reach TRIP2, press and hold the button until the display reads 0.

458 km is 284 miles. I usually get 180-200 miles of range on my G310GS. It has a 2.9 gallon tank and is capable of 71 MPG according to BMW (205 miles) but I ride mine like a hoon and get closer to 60 MPG.
How do you make the speedometer backlight turn on? I bought a BMW G310 GS recently and I don't know why there isn't a setting to adjust brightness.
I think the backlight is on all the time. The LED backlight has a light blue hue. You can't see it in the daytime, when transreflected sunlight provides the display contrast. The LED backlight is only needed at night.
Recently upgraded my brake in r15v4 currently using rcb 17mm master cylinder is there any chance to upgrade my stock 2piston caliper to 4piston caliper for better feedback?

As they are sharing the platform don't expect much difference in the Apache RR310 & BMW G310RR. Overall it is great for customers like us who get to choose from a street, race and adventure motorcycle. I wish more manufacturers do this in the sub 300cc segment in India like Kawasaki, Honda etc are doing abroad.
The white one is the redline indicator. When you redline the engine, it will turn on

12 hrs clock will be set by service centre by connecting the obd port

What’s the best and cheap option to get the service msg disappear?
I have the MotoScan app (paid app) and one of the supported BlueTooth OBDII port scanners. When I do the annual maintenance, I reset the service interval time and mileage which clears the SERVICE indicator on the instrument panel.

I am looking for a good LED pair, probably from an OEM. The KTM indicator are shorter in length when compared to the stock indicators.
