I'd say Destroyah. It's production values were very good for a Japanese movie of the time and Destroyah with his devilish look is one of my favorite Godzilla foes. I would love if the Legendary Monsterverse uses that monster as I would love to see him redone today with modern Hollywood effects. Also loved how its plot tied back to the original and wrapped up all the previous movies storylines in such a satisfying way. Probably Toho's best Godzilla movie after the original

Bro you're completely right about this being the best era. Best stories, best effects, best acting, best music. Don't get me wrong the first Mecha Godzilla movie will probably always be my personal favorite just because its the first Godzilla I ever saw as a kid so the nostalgia is strong but this era is objectively better. The previous era was outright silly with their fights played off for laughs. This era took itself completely seriously and that elevates it.
Who hates on the Heisei series? Most consistent Godzilla, a continuity, a real ending, and a consistent tone, with some room for certain films to go lighter or darker, as needed. All the films are upper tier among the Godzilla films, with the exception of Spacegodzilla (easily the worst of the bunch). Yeah, the fights are less like brawls. It is probably more realistic that way. Let's be honest, Godzilla's body isn't exactly well-suited to hand-to-hand combat. LOL
What I really love about Heisei Godzilla is the character he was given. He's much more animalistic compared to his later Showa counterpart, but he had qualities that displayed that he was more sentient than he let on. Ishiro Honda never liked how Godzilla lost the theme of the original as time passed, the monster became less of a symbol of humanity's own destruction & more of a hero to children, and the Heisi series mostly continued that trend.
Heisei is the best, especially in terms of design + overall mood and tone. My favorite Godji suit is Heisei as well, specifically the Biolante version.

I will agree with most of your assessment. Of the three series of Godzilla movies Toho made the second series is definitely the strongest for most of the reasons you describe such as it stronger continuity and the fact that Godzilla himself is well realized. Its worth noting that I would say the 2014 Hollywood Godzilla movie feels most inspired by the Heisei series as Godzilla similar to the Heisei series is portrayed as a force of nature neither good or bad. Something that is destructive in the way a hurricane is destructive but not driven by any malice. In terms of the complaint of the monster fights being nothing but beam wars that is mostly due to technological limitations. The Heisei Godzilla suit is much better looking than the ones from the original series but as a consequence the actors in those suits had limited mobility making more dynamic fights hard to due with the budget limitations of Japanese movies. Given how hot it must have been in those suits I gotta give those guys props for going through it
Tanaka himself always considered the Heisei Godzilla as the most definitive version of him. Also Godzilla wasn't official dead in GvsMGII. That was debunked thanks to Official Japanese Toho sources.
GojiBro Davidson Nah. Godzilla was just a vegetable. That’s not death. But I’m sure Godzilla’s regeneration factor would have regenerated him after a while. Also Rodan’s energy only enhanced it further giving him a more powerful regeneration factor. Allowing him to instantaneously regenerate any injury he suffers.
@@Shadowrulzalways I'm arguing more that because Godzilla couldn't move at that moment, SMG2 had a chance to kill him if it moved fast enough;retract and refire its harpoons into Godzilla's skull and destroy the brain that truly matters.
GojiBro Davidson No destroying the brain will not truly kill him. Godzilla’s cells can regenerate by themselves. Just one cell alone can grow back into a new Godzilla. This has been a confirmed fact for years. Godzilla can only be truly killed by destroying all his cells on a molecular or atomic level or by draining his energy completely. Which SMG isn’t capable of doing. Why do you think the oxygen destroyer and the meltdown killed Godzilla? Or why the Anti-nuclear energy bacteria nearly worked? LOL Seems you don’t know much about Godzilla.
@@Shadowrulzalways I'm pretty sure that applied more to Godzilla 2000, not so much Heisei. He did have a healing factor, but it didn't appear to be as good as 2000, FW, or what GMK was apparently able to do. Course I'd say it's better than Showa, Shin, 2014, and especially Kiryu series Goji. Also, was this said in the movie, or in a magazine/interview? It's been a while since I watched it, but if it's in there, than I'll accept it.
I agree with a lot here, Heisei is my favorite, and my all time four favorite Godzilla movies are Mechagodzilla II, King Ghidorah, Destoroyah, and Biollante. The complaint about the fights is something I've never understood. Except for SpaceGodzilla, I think the films had plenty of physical combat. I liked how whenever they fought physically, there's weight to their attacks, and they fight as if they're ferocious giant creatures. There's plenty of memorable moments; King Ghidorah strangling Godzilla, Godzilla lifting, throwing, and tail slamming Mechagodzilla, the whole Rodan fight, Godzilla's fight with Battra Larva, Destoroyah's horn katana and prehensile tail, and a lot more. The bulkiness of the suits made Kawakita come up with creative ways to have the monsters fight up close. Mechagodzilla was also a beam and missile spammer in the Showa series, so that complaint about the Heisei one is very hypocritical. I also do thoroughly enjoy beam battles when under exciting direction (which I find in Omori and Okawara's films).
That's how showa fanboys work, they say heisei is overrated but they Also always being d*ckriding And being fanatic so of course showa is the real overrated lol
Heisei Godzilla is definitely my favorite design. Some of the best movies too. I just wish it had gone on longer. Edit: I think the single thing that made this Godzilla so iconic was the fact that, as you said, he got to keep his edge while still remaining the hero to root for. And since he is presented as a force of nature instead of a conflicted human like batman or superman, it doesn't spoil his charachter.
I grew up in the 90s and with the exception of 85 all the rest of Godzilla films I heard about I couldn’t see. I saw a new segment about the Godzilla vs Ghidorah controversy. I flipped my shit when they actually showed a brief clip of the film. I couldn’t believe they were still making Godzilla films in Japan. To me the last time I saw Godzilla he feel into a volcano and died.
I remember when I was atleast 5-10 I had watched mostly showa era, then Biolante was definitly a big deal for me because had been updated visually. I have yet to see a couple of them from the heisei. I do remember when I was little and godzilla had fallen into the volcano I cried lol. But I think I'm at that age where just rewatching all of them would be good.
Hesei was definitely my childhood...for years they were the newest Godzilla movies I could get. After Godzilla 2000....Megaguirus and GMK didn't debut in the USA until premiering on the sci-fi channel in 2003. So there was a 3 year gap where G2K was the newest film in the US, and there were 3 mythical movies released in Japan that nobody got to see......and the Heisei series was as modern as the movies got. The continuity and heavy screen-time of the monsters, as well as the colorful palettes where vivid laser blasts were spammed constantly just made them aesthetically pleasing to my young mind. I had a ton of the Trendmasters toys as well :)
I remember recording Megaguirus and GMK on video tape when they premiered on the Sci-fi Channel because I wouldn't be able to rewatch them again, at least not until they came out on dvd years later.
Up From The Depths Likewise. I watched those recordings so much that when the DVDs came out, I was easily able to spot the 'new' scenes the movies had....meaning scenes that were edited out for time on the SF broadcast.
@@trazyntheinfinite9895 they did a great job putting emotions and intelligence in the Kaiju. I loved when God Zola comes back and rises from the water and has a face like "yo what up let's fuck shit up" and theres another time godzilla put a face on like "fuck you. I'm King, Ghidora...I AM KING!"
I had a complete headache and brainfeezs watching this nonsense . I went back to this series as comfort food! and even Godzilla earth or 2014 , or 2000.
Heisei is definitely my favorite era. It has my very favorite movie in the franchise and has most of my favorites in the higher teir. My biggest complaint is that only one was released in the U.S. I didn't watch Mothra vs Godzilla to Godzilla vs Destroyah till 1996. It was easy to get the bootleg movies in NYC back then.
I started with the Showa Era before the Heisei but quickly fell in love with the Heisei Era. Godzilla's design along with the more serious tone (initially) was so impactful on me as a child.
I never really thought about the other monsters in the Heisei era. Your right. They all have good reasons for being there. Each movie built off of the other, where in the Showa era, all the monsters just appeared for no reason.
I'm 57 and grew up watching the showa era, many of them on the big screen. And a number of them are among my very favorite Godzilla films. That said , the heisei series became my favorite. I love Kawakita and satsumas vision of how Godzilla should look and behave. and in spite of the overwhelming difficulties in cranking out a major film every year, (with nine major visual-effects productions done in only 6 years) the vast majority of the imagery is outstanding. I love the continuity, the music is excellent across-the-board. And the fact that the narrative is linked for all the films, all of which give us to me the most consistent and best series of Godzilla films.
Huh, Heisei was disliked? I really didn't know that's a thing. I started from the late Showa series and my most favorite design of the character was millennial, but Heisei was still what I think of first when I think about Godzilla.
I really loved the continuity of the heisei series. Long form story telling there that I really appreciate. I love all eras and incarnations of the characters but the heisei is my favorite (and I grew up with the showa series).
I'm curious as of where I should start I want to watch a era all the way through but I want to watch one with all the kaiju in it which should I watch for that ?
The heisei definitely had the most emotion with its storytelling. I remember as a kid genuinely being fearful for little Godzilla when Spacegodzilla was trying to attack him and how he runs towards Godzilla to protect him. I grew up with millennium series but I gotta say that it doesn't hold up that well to me. It feels way too short and they didnt really have continuity between them if at all which each movie essentially being a one off story
As a newcomer fan who's only seen the original film, the 2 legendary pictures, Shin Godzilla and the Netflix Trilogy, I really find this video inspiring to continue on this franchise, I hope I get the same entertainment I got from the previous pieces of media I consumed.
Easily my favorite era, the interconnected stories is something sorely missed in the later Millennium series. The effects are top notch, music is great, characters are well written and engaging. All the classic monsters are at their best in my opinion, and all the new monsters are welcome additions to the mythos. Heisei represents everything I love about Godzilla.
I was thrilled when I saw the re-designed Godzilla. Also the moving away from some of the more child focused films. I absolutely agree, the Heisei series is and will always be my favourite!
I think most of the best films are out of the Heisei series but as a whole, the Heisei series is the best in terms of long term story telling and definitive streamlined version of Godzilla. I really agree with pretty much every point you brought up and I really like your balanced and fair opinion. I'm subscribing and I think I'll check out your other videos now. I wanted to watch the Heisei series with my wife and you just reminded me of why this series is the one that came to my mind. Keep up the good work.
Your intro in this video almost perfectly described my own introduction to the Heisei films. My parents bought me the Official Godzilla Compendium which I re-read so often I practically memorized it at one point, and I saw the still images and read about them only to be disappointed not to have them. The only difference between you and me is that I convinced my parents to record most of them on blank VHS tapes during a marathon on AMC's MonsterFest, complete with intros by Roger Corman. We only bought professional copies of the ones we missed, lol. Although I love entries from all three eras, I've always thought the Heisei era was the best, with Godzilla vs King Ghidorah being my personal favorite, even if it is rife with plot holes and continuity errors. That's why I'm anxious to hear Blunova's thoughts on them, because he constantly refers to them as disappointing. The only one he's analyzed in detail is Destroyah, and admittedly, he did bring up some great points and made me re-think my own opinion of that particular film. He has yet to elaborate on the others, though.
As a huge Godzilla film the heisei series had some serious bangers. That moment when Godzilla's son died right in front of his dad, only to then be revived by his dad dying in front of him, really goes to show the emotional quality of those films. My favorite's for me will always be the classic films of the showa era, but goddman heisei had some great stuff.
Y'know, I never understood why SpaceGodzilla gets flak. His design is great to fit his story, powers and aesthetic, he has some staggeringly impressive powers, and his intelligence and malevolence made him a remarkable threat for Godzilla and humanity in his movie.
I think many people see him as kind of a clone of Godzilla with lots of crystals, nothing more. While he looks pretty cool, I’d say he’s my least favorite monster in the Heisei series.
I am 46.... so I grew up with the the showa era...but my favourite wra of Godzilla was the Heisei era. I loved that the movies all connected. I loved the design. I loved the mix of suit and animatronics. Many of thexr ees adoms you list are similar to mine. I was very connected to the VHS fansubbing community...so I got to see the Heisei films about a a couple of months after they were released in Japan...so I didn't have to wait as long as you. I also don't gave a problem with beam spamming... I liked it...and I thought it made sense.
The heisei series has consistency, something that the showa and millennium series can't say. It all feels connected. Though that could be seen as a negative that the movies aren't as out there, I really enjoy these movies.
Heisei is probably my favorite as well. Biolante is my most favorite Godzilla movie by far. This era had many of my other favorites (Return, Destroyah, Mothrah). I agree with everything you said. He's an antihero and a force of nature.
I love that Era for the 'unstopable force of Nature' theme that Godzilla has going. It comes very close to the newest Godzilla 2014 and KotM which are my second favorites!
I’ve gotta agree with you OP, Heisei is my favorite too. I grew up watching these, and my favorites in the series (Space Godzilla, Versus Destroyah, and Versus King Ghidorah) are from this era as well. My great great great grandma made a point to record these for me every time they played on Sci Fi back in the day, and I’ve still got the VHS tapes floating around. Heisei Godzilla makes me think of fun times with my grandma and some of the best storytelling of my childhood, 10/10
I grew up watching all the original Godzilla movies growing up as a kid but the Heisei series was the best. Legendary obviously took a page from these movies in making the story an continuing arc
First Godzilla movie that I watched was Godzilla 1985. We watched it in my old house and I remember sitting on the sofa next to my mom and dad sitting on the floor. I cried when Godzilla fell into the volcano and I thought he died (I was 10). 24 years later I still love Godzilla and love what they're doing with the franchise. Glad there are so many other Godzilla fans around the world!
Heisei baby all the way. First G-man movie I ever saw was heisei. My good ole buddy phil. From the Philippines 🇵🇭! His dad had so much cool Asian stuff!! All the Godzilla movies at the time were among said stuff. That day definitively changed my life forever.

I was born in 1998, but I grew up watching the Hensei series and loving it the most. I completely forgot everything about Godzilla after I grew up. This video brought back a lot of nostalgia and how much I used to love Godzilla as a kid. It also brought a great sense of recap, as I forgot whatvhappened in these movies. Thanks for the great video.
This series is the one I have always loved. I had The Return of Godzilla and I think I saw GvsB when I went into a video store- that right there was my first time seeing the artistic cover. I sadly couldn't get ti but I learned about it and the rest of the heisei films on this one website. Forgot what it was called.
After the 54 movie this was the first Series I watched because of your great video. Thanks for the recommendation because this was a great ride for a Godzilla virgin like me! :D Greetings from Hungary! ;)
I was a kid in the 90's, and a lone Godzilla fan throughout all that time - I knew no one else who shared my fandom without my introducing them to it until I was in my 20s. You're absolutely right about the amount of Godzilla paraphernalia that was available at the time. I still have my battered copy of the Official Godzilla Compendium around somewhere, and I recognized every piece of merchandise you showed in this video, much of which I had received as Christmas gifts. Between all that stuff and TNT's MonsterVision the 90's was a fantastic time to be a kid/preteen and love Godzilla and monster movies. Also, imo Godzilla vs Biollante is easily the best movie from the Heisei series, with 1984 and vs Destroyah behind it.
love the vid, subbed!I discovered the Hesei series when I was about 12? I had to special order them from the video store. I think they brought the best looking physical suits which directly translated to millenium until it became CG. So good, especially love 1985, biollante and destroyah.
I hear ya, brother. The Hesei series has a special place in my heart too. I remember at the same time the Trend Masters toys coming out and the Dark Horse comic series and I DEFINITELY still have that book, even though my issues of G-Fan from that time are long gone😢 Above all I think that Godzilla design is my absolute favorite. I used to LOVE drawing it.
I pretty much agree with all of this, particularly the nostalgia part. My grandma got me the last 5 movies as a Christmas gift right as I was starting to get into Godzilla (had only seen Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, Godzilla 1998, and read some of the books), and it's probably one of the best gifts I've gotten to this day.
I'm really glad to have your videos to help me understand all aspects of Godzilla. I've wanted to dive into franchise for years. But have been so overwhelmed. This era has been recommended to me as a great place to start. And so I am absolutely happy hearing your views on the era!
Godzilla 1985 was the first japanese Godzilla i watched, i was born in 1998 so when really young i loved the 1997 american Godzilla. But when maybe 9-10 i got a dvd collection of the heisei movies which just blew me away. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah was my favorite but burning Godzilla is still my favorite version of him.
Huh. I always felt that the Heisei series was just generally agreed to be the best. The monsters looked amazing, there is continuity from film to film even among human characters, and it had an ending. Watching this video today was the first I've ever heard of Godzilla fans not liking it. That's news to me. That's insanity.
Heh. Nah, there's always been a big divide between (usually, but not always) younger fans and (usually, but not always) older fans in regards to the Heisei vs Showa era. I think the Showa series, specifically the 50s and 60s, is the superior series myself. Heisei has some films I really love, but it also has generally the worst good/bad movie ratio of the three eras.
I’m 37 and the hesei is my favorite era. I was fortunate enough to find a vendor in early ‘95 that sold boot leg VHS for the films not currently available over here. It was great stuff
showa has always been inconsistent at portraying godzilla's character and development. However, Heisei has solid character writing for godzilla that he'd put to shame human characters in films
Dude, I enjoyed your commentary on the Heisei Godzilla Series!!! And, even though I grew up during the Showa Era of Godzilla!!! It was the Heisei Era , that swayed me over, with the look and design of Godzilla!!! My favorite Heisei movies were, Godzilla vs. Biollante/King Ghidorah/ and Destroyah!!! However, I did not know anything about the Heisei Era, until I visited Tower Records and came across the book of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah special effects with the film poster version of King Ghidorah wrapping his body around Godzilla!!! And, the cover art just had my mind super blown!!!
I like Showa Godzilla and Gamera the most, i haven't seen the Heisei Ultraman series though... Only seen Ultra Q, Ultraman 1966 and Ultraseven, which are all Showa series. But as for Godzilla and Gamera i have seen all of them many times, and Showa is definitely my favourite, but i love all of them.
I really liked how you made a point not to make any era of Godzilla the "objectively" the best era. Though the Heisei series is my favorite as well I think fans too often get caught up in this notion that art can be judged objectively when it really can only ever be judged objectively no matter how badly you feel about some of them (1998). Great channel, subscribed!
I find it unfair that the majority of fans like to single out the Heisei series for its faults the most, when all the other eras can be considered equally flawed.
Just found your channel. Always nice to find more GFANS. I watch pretty much every Godzilla film almost every year. Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II is one of the top 5 Godzilla films ever. That being said, a lot of American fans issues with the Heisei films comes from their first and sometimes only experience of the series being the Americanized versions. They just edit to much out and change too many details, and the Heisei series suffered from that. The Heisei series also suffers from too much human plot separate from the monster plot. But not so much that its bad or annoying like the recent Godzilla King of the Monsters
I mean everything you explained and pointed out they are very valid points one thing I did enjoy was the fact that Godzilla was just indestructible and yet a protector at times and the fact we got to see baby Godzilla grow into a full adult Godzilla at the end of the series
Filip BPG amen. I appreciate the Showa era for what it is and for keeping Godzilla going, but Heisei and New Millennium is where my bread is buttered. I have all of them and rewatch with regularity
I never knew Heisei was so contested, tho it is definitely my favorite, since the first Godzilla movie I actually sat & watched in totality was Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.
The fact that in this day and age, people have to make a disclaimer of their opinions says so much about the current world we live in. It’s honestly kind of sad. We’re allowed and entitled of our opinions. If people don’t like other’s opinions, they should make their own judgment without the need of a disclaimer.

I've heard the comments about not having enough physical combat in these movies. I don't agree with them. Why? Because all of these kaiju Know they have beam attacks. And as these kaiju are mostly basically just huge animals in some ways, wouldn't it make sense for them to attack their opponents or defend themselves in the safest and most efficient way? Any one of these creatures would be freaking out at the possibility of some other huge creature getting close enough to rip their throat out. Why not spam beam attacks and hope your opponent dies from that before they get close enough to cause physical damage and possibly kill you? I honestly never understood why Godzilla, King Ghidorah, or any other beam toting kaiju in the Showa era rarely used their beams. Just didn't make sense to me. Why not try and kill your opponent from far away? It's a no brainer. Duh. lol.
Agreed.Beams make fights more colorful, bombastic and visually interesting. I hate when they turn the Kaiju fights into slapstick, also for more physical combat they'd have to make the suits slimmer and thin Godzilla is something I wholeheartedly despise.
Very good video. I can’t say whether I think it’s the best, but it’s certainly the most consistent and iconic era of Godzilla. You’re right in that they got his approach of villainous anti-hero down perfectly, as well as his personality, and the use of classic and introduction of new monsters is a near perfect balance. That said my issues start when the movies begin to be produced and released yearly, and the high water mark of SFX set by G84 and Vs Biollante trend down to more....I guess power rangers level, sparks flying and day-bright sets all over the place. Still I think it’s not just a great era but one of the most important for cementing Godzilla’s iconic status.
Here's how i rank the heisei Era best to worst. Godzilla vs Biollante (1989) 81% Godzilla vs Destroyah (1995) 75% Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla (1993) 68% The return of Godzilla (1984) 64% Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991) 60% Godzilla vs Mothra (1992) 46% Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla (1994) 38%
Godzilla vs Biollante holds a special place in my heart. I watched it on VHS when I barely knew any English as a kid, but the language barrier did nothing to stump my enjoyment of the film. Now as an adult, I enjoy it more so now that I can appreciate the technical aspect of it.
The Heisei era is objectively the best one. Biollante, SpaceGodzilla, Destoroyah. Can't argue with that. Showa is objectively the worst. Kindergarten crap.
So you're saying Mothra vs. Godzilla in 1964 was hot garbage? King Kong vs. Godzilla? Invasion of Astro monster? Just because the effects are "dated" that doesn't make everything bad.

I agree 100%, and me too! I love the Biogoji suit the most.

Given how hot it must have been in those suits I gotta give those guys props for going through it
Not to mention they willingly get blown up sometimes filming scenes
I think the Godzilla in Final Wars had a good balance of looking good and being functional.
Heisei: Heath Ledger
Legendary: Joaquin Phoenix
Tristar: Jared Leto
The Heisei Era is my favorite Era of Godzilla as well
Tanaka himself always considered the Heisei Godzilla as the most definitive version of him. Also Godzilla wasn't official dead in GvsMGII. That was debunked thanks to Official Japanese Toho sources.
True, though I think one could at least argue that SMG2 had him dead to rights if it wasn't for Rodan.
Yeah, the Rodan fight might be one of my favorites in the series.
That's how showa fanboys work, they say heisei is overrated but they Also always being d*ckriding And being fanatic so of course showa is the real overrated lol
@@cardiocain2122 exactly
Heisei Godzilla is definitely my favorite design. Some of the best movies too. I just wish it had gone on longer.
Edit: I think the single thing that made this Godzilla so iconic was the fact that, as you said, he got to keep his edge while still remaining the hero to root for. And since he is presented as a force of nature instead of a conflicted human like batman or superman, it doesn't spoil his charachter.
Nostalgia aside, the Heisei films have the best writing, acting, and the most bad ass and powerful version of Godzilla.

I love the way that the Heisei series looks.I have been trying to recreate it in my own Godzilla fan films.
You're correct, we feel nostalgia for what we watched while growing up, the Godzilla of the 60's is where my heart has stayed.
Best things about the Heisei Era, starting with 'Return' and concluding with his death in 'vs. Destoroyah'
Agreed!
Definitely the best Godzilla design, good balance of awesome and scary.
After watching KOTM I felt old godzilla movies set up an amazing path to follow for the new American audiance watching the monsterverse

I completely agree. I personally like the Heisei series the best. My favorite from the Heisei era is Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II.
As a newcomer fan who's only seen the original film, the 2 legendary pictures, Shin Godzilla and the Netflix Trilogy, I really find this video inspiring to continue on this franchise, I hope I get the same entertainment I got from the previous pieces of media I consumed.
You need to watch them, there miles better than the modern godzilla movies
I agree with you - the Heisei series is also my personal favorite era of Godzilla, at least so far.
Megumi Odaka (Miki Sagusa) is so incredibly beautiful. I honestly get more excited to see her on screen than Godzilla.
I always loved Godzilla vs the terminator
Otherwise known as the middle 20 minutes of goji v king Ghidorah

I agree, I really love space Godzilla. I honestly love his design
I truly love the Heisei Era of Godzilla, it add more depth to character.

@@KaijuKing42 Agreed. The heisei series had a great start, but went downhill after biollante.

showa has always been inconsistent at portraying godzilla's character and development. However, Heisei has solid character writing for godzilla that he'd put to shame human characters in films
Dude, I enjoyed your commentary on the Heisei Godzilla Series!!! And, even though I grew up during the Showa Era of Godzilla!!!

Speaking of nostalgia, Playing that commercial for the toys really pulled my memory emotions. I still have my Mecha King Ghidorah in my apartment.
Godzilla vs Biollante (1989) 81%
Godzilla vs Destroyah (1995) 75%
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla (1993) 68%
The return of Godzilla (1984) 64%
Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991) 60%
Godzilla vs Mothra (1992) 46%
Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla (1994) 38%
I mostly agree with your list, though I'd rank King Ghidorah higher. And I have a soft spot for SpaceGodzilla.
Same, I love Spacegodzilla's theme for some reason
Godzilla vs Biollante holds a special place in my heart. I watched it on VHS when I barely knew any English as a kid, but the language barrier did nothing to stump my enjoyment of the film. Now as an adult, I enjoy it more so now that I can appreciate the technical aspect of it.
The Heisei era is objectively the best one. Biollante, SpaceGodzilla, Destoroyah. Can't argue with that.
Showa is objectively the worst. Kindergarten crap.
Godzilla vs mothra was showa too and it was very good
So you're saying Mothra vs. Godzilla in 1964 was hot garbage? King Kong vs. Godzilla? Invasion of Astro monster? Just because the effects are "dated" that doesn't make everything bad.
@@garagefirestudios9802 It's not because of the effects. It's because Godzilla was depicted like Barney in most of these films.
Bc of your channel and having the same love for these movies that I do, I’ve bought as many as I can get and now I’m finally getting biollante and it’s literally the only one I’ve ever seen
