You should be able to do both because both will give you more control of the sound. There are times when you’ll use them but together, or one or the other, or neither. Anything you can do to fine to your sound is a good thing.

@@greggh I am strumming it and hitting it unless I am playing a riff that misses it intentionally.
Is there slide for the soprano ukulele?
For sure, we have a lot of slide lessons for standard tuning, meaning you can play them with the soprano no problem.
