This elephant was captured in the Mathale Kiula area had destroyed lot of houses and killed several villagers. The wildlife authorities had to struggle for nearly 4 days to capture the animal. Later the elephant was released to Kaudulla National Park.

i don't think this as a great handling of the transfer of the elephant at all.there as so much going on that aws confusing,and people did not seem to have the skills for th e job.i am very disapointed with the part of the video i watched,and i did not watch it all because of the way i felt things ere being handled.why were so many unskilled workers/watchers there??is this a case of the more the merrier,there was no need for all the hangers on,there was no need for so many people to be so involved,and even with all that,the ones in charge did not seem suited t o the job.very poorly done.

The point is: if you pay close attention to what they are doing, you can see that from start to finish they are A) trying to stay safe and B)doing their best to gradually maneuver him into the cargo area using as little force as possible. Elephants have very thick, very tough hides. Those blows, which would have been quite painful to you or me, were just a tap to the elephant. By distracting him with those taps they were able, little by little, to make the adjustments that enabled them to slowly maneuver him onto he truck.

Did you see elephant was beaten even one time? Elephant is a strong animal and ropes used are not to harm it but to constrained. Many comments are like yours not knowing how hard to tackle a killer beast like this inside a forest no vehicle can get closer to it because of many trees. You may be happy if aimed a big gun and killed like they do in the West. Thank god their biggest animal is moose or a horse.

These are wildlife officers. and their job is to protect wildlife and to reduce human attacks by these big animals. These officers have to do it the way their doing patiently since wild animals do not know commands. They are shouting to confuse the animal so that they can get closer to it. Once the legs are constrained they connect to a vehicle away and pull the beast slowly. This fellow has already killed people. Other option is shoot and kill the animal like in the West. Right.....
