In my opinion, this is the most important scene in the whole trilogy. Someone that DP looks up to finally had the guts to tell him the truth to his face and it left him hurt and speechless. The only way he could respond is with the only way he knew how: violence. Facing the truth was too much for him and he would rather face physical pain rather than the emotional pain. A true masterclass from Jackman.
Hugh is so good that as an audience member, I felt offended for DP. That has to be one of the most vicious verbal beatings I've ever seen in cinema history.
