Played this game a lot in the arcades as a kid. Was pretty easy then, and is still pretty easy now.

A legend never truly dies
i found myself boppin my head to the music while watchin this longplay
OMG WTF is with that ending screen ??
"the children are smiling because deep down their hearts they know Michael will return one day to share with them a wondrous and magical adventure"
and MJ using fuuton rasengan rofl
I remember this game as making a lot more sense than it should.
Wow I never even knew about this version. I only knew about the Mega Drive / Sega Genesis one which I played as a kid. Thanks for sharing! :-)
There’s also a master system version
but Thriller was actually written by Rod Temperton instead of Michael, and each time someone uses thriller, the royalties go to Rod instead of MJ.
In the Genesis version, when you do the dance attack, they do play Thriller. It seems more appropiate as a dance attack move then just the normal BGM.
One of the finest Sega games
Amazing dialogue by Michael there...
The magic hat........existed right before Kung Lao from Mortal Kombat.
R.I.P. MJ.

I have no idea what that green thing was, but its dance is pure nightmare fuel.
One thing I always remembered about this game was being confused about the music in the second stage. It sounded like "Bad", but was actually "Smooth Criminal". They saved "Bad" for the fifth stage.
I agree. Someone must convert it to M.U.G.E.N, because his "Dance Magic" moves are like eye candy.
I used to play this game when I was a kid. I never got anywhere but I liked the music.
The children are smiling because they know that one day, Michael will return to share with them another wondrous and magical adventure.
(from the ending).
Damn this game is cheesy :D It actually looks as if it's decent to play though.
I play this wonderful game in my MAME emulator
The ending hinted that the story wasn't over, but the high score screen showed Michael looking suspiciously like he's been crucified. I guess Sega knew there wasn't going to be a sequel.
Michael: "No one touches these kids but me!"
Lyles 🐢 Rumour has it that the working title of this game was MJ vs social services.
Michael wasn’t even a pedo
All the accusations of Michael being a pedophile are absurd. He wasn't a pedo.
Considering the late artist's reputation, the prevalence of children in this game with the unusually flamboyant looking robot, is at least a bit unsettling.
taking it out on a dead guy, classy.
I disagree. I'm not making fun MJ, just saying I found him to be a bit creepy later in his life.
Endymion766 Put yourself in a position where you have to be isolated from the rest of the world and you will end up the same, may I remind you that the guy underwent trial and was found not guilty on all counts, now, I say again, how classy of you to hate on a dead guy.
DAUM that movement when he is dancing is quite revolutionary.
Pretty easy !?!?! My God. It was tremendously difficult.
Moonwalker on the PS3 will rock!
Mr. Big: "Haha! Michael, you'll never see these children again!!...
...as per restraining order 04898-B mandated by the State of California."
mmh abit creepy - and I'm not talking about "mr. Bigg".
Also - did those kids give him back his pants?
@SebiStudios2 well, i don't know why they couldn't use thriller....but "another part of me" kind-a fits the glommy graveyard-woods sacene when renditioned into the aercade and sega music.
that's probably why.
why in the name of God did I spend my entire childhood playing the GENESIS version????
Next time I play this game, I'm going to play it to the beat.
Very well played, I always found this game so hard in the arcade. The non-isometric Mega Drive version was easy in comparison.
2:53
Nice timing!
It's actually played whenever Micheal uses is Dance Bomb on the zombies in that level.
@rof670 for legal reasons they couldnt play thriller on that level
only in the sega genesis the special move the song appeared
but the still put almost the same 8-bit song that i know the music in the 4lvl is "Another part of me''
I would pay a fortune to get a moonwalker arcade cabinet in person
I really thought of something disturbingly sick when I read that - especially because of his recent-ish problems with children :S
@kismikola i agree just da theme of michael saving boys is a little ironic
@scarhunter92 Sega developed this arcade version too. I presume you were talking about the Megadrive/Genesis version though...
yes indeed...I wish I got to play this growing up.
Now that he's gone I wonder if this will finally get a proper home release...
@Punk53able
What "legal reasons"? Michael himself designed the game.
Finished the MegaDrive/Genesis version, was quite easy.
This is the most awesome game ever.
"Game concept & design by Michael Jackson"... what about the other guys having worked on the game ? lol
I remember playing this arcade game lol. It was cool.
ESTE ERA UN SUPER JUEGO, LAS FAMOSAS MAQUINITAS.
The King of Pop 4 life ((1958-2009))
i loved the arcade version
Wow, this looks much better than the one on Genesis.
I loved this game.
Just like the one from the sega genisis there's still no thriller on the zombie level
Yes it should!
I have the Megadrive version and it has got another part of me, on the graveyard level to.
It always felt strange to me why they did not use
thriller.
Those guys he's fighting are from Social Services.
I never knew there was an arcade version of this. The only one I ever knew was the Sega version.
@mikemgun i mean the genesis version is not good as the master system :)
maybe because i had it for the master system, and i just noticed the genesis version 5 years ago,
@mikemgun actually this game made before he got sued, so i believe the children saving is not made by ironic, or to make him look pedophil, they put kids because in '88, '89 he already saved many children, and organized charity concerts. But i agree with you, SEGA could make a better point, like... just eliminate all the enemies, and get the super-moves, and lives from hidden spots, boxes and stuffs like that. So just a Beat-em-Up game with Style and Moonwalk ;)
Baow micheal, baow.
Because Smooth Criminal isn't by AAF, it's by Michael.
Why didn't Sega also put this version on the Genesis as well. This would habe been so cool.
@kismikola o kool i didnt kno dat there was a master system version cool thx for telling me and now i understand wot ur saying
Ironclaw, if it's pretty easy... why did you need 2 continues?
Got that right, genesis pissed on more than a few good console games.
Cool game! also, that brown robots reminds me of the robots in Cyber Police :)
couple of slices of pizza and Moonwalker at an old pizzeria me n my folks loved to go to.. good ol days man.. i begged for the Genesis game it was just as fun, not to many foes as it was on the arcade..
The 2nd player is also Michael Jackson but the Smooth Criminal suit he's wearing is a different color.
its been done, not the arcade but the genesis

RIP Michael. My parents used to own an arcade. I played this a lot as a kid. Great game at the time. The type of special dance he'd do all depended on what direction the joy stick was pointing. The hat throwing was my favourite.
It's still easy but I usually like the Megadrive version better the arcade one.
0:25 A person says "Yeah" during Bad song
dude 1833 vids?
The arcade version is so rad in comparison to SEGA's.
guys, i wonder who's the second player ))) somebody from Jackson's5? ))
Caraca.. lembrei da minha infancia... joguei muito este game em Peruibe-SP.. kkk... mandou bem pacas....
MJ uses lightening release
@kismikola ya i agree but o be fair with moonwalker on da genisis it was an ok port on A home video game consule though like its not horibal but it does have defults wich made suk
An excellent Arcade from back when soul-crushing difficulty was addictive and not something to whine to your folks about.
I'm using MAMe but keep saying i need the chd file to play this game. Any1 have the chd for this game?
if you ask me, i`ll say that there`s to much weird stuft going on in this game
Best 25 cents spent at Chuck E.Cheese
11:43 God say to Death "NOT TODAY"
i agree with u about 25:27
Shesus,why?
as the game is called please tell me
Um, no shit! This is the arcade version.
Dorkly
@shinobivega it is a monument created by aliens to keep michaels epicness alive xD
I knew that. It seems that most people like home console versions over arcades, because "There's no place like home." It's also because they grew up with them.
Game kinda looks fun....
the best arcade, MICHAEL FOREVER!!!
Wow, this game makes TONS of Sense. O.o
Love it how Michael is like :| and shouts "BOAW!" XD
great music
I also like this Arcade version but I much prefer the Arcade version but that's normal, it's a game I played a lot at a friend's house, nostalgia. But I still find it really better on Master system. I don't like the Megadrive version that I find too difficult, it's not easy to find the children and the hard game is way too hard.
When you are so awesome they make a video game of about you lol
i know Michael Jackson he is a Singer
but he is famous in 1980's he always
join the group is the Jackson's from 1970's
song called ABC but now Michael Jackson
is death in Rest In Peace
@piscesblue1990 I can't believe you want back that far. I had trouble finding my original comment. Heh.
Oh MJ, thank you for your music and your games, when it comes for PS3, I am SOOO getting it T_T
The Genesis version wasn't anywhere near as good as this one, though. (Maybe someone will release something with both?)
Thnkz 4 this Vid!!!!
Michael Jackson Moon Walker is a classic arcade from Sega
With ABSOLUTELY AWESOME graphics and STUNNING gameplay
Rest in peace Michael Jackson 1958-2009 king of pop forever
