Cerato is only 500 kilos smaller and by all means SHOULD be stronger with a natural damage resistance. Ceratosaurus should dominate the matchup in a straight fight, but the match becoming closer to equivalent as skill increases on the carno's end

Stop face tanking so much. Use your superior turn radius to dodge and bite the carno. Don't get into a brawl until the carno is out of stamina. Once you run him out of stamina you will easily be able to kill him.
The thing that gets cerato killed by carno is that cerato players always opt for fighting them rather than disappearing into the forest, crossing any river, dodging the charges wasting the carnos stam then leaving with the remaining stamina you got, and just in general avoiding carnos rather than fighting them Just trust me bro the best way to not die to carnos. Is to avoid carnos
but should cerato actually be avoiding the fight? its the kill-stealing wildly ferocious brawler that deals to much damage to be a safe kill. cerato should pose at least minor threat to all of its predators, even, perhaps especiallt, allo. it cant exactly do that if carno can just tank it
@@transnewt Well carnos probably won’t try to kill cerato if it’s able to get the body buff. And up until it gets that buff it is still incredibly agile and can easily dodge carno charges, possibly even land a few hits if the opportunity presents itself. But in this scenario the main goal isn’t to kill the other player but rather to get the body.

I sincerely WANT to like this game (I LOVE Legacy!!!); but, I can't get past the way these dinos all move like they're running at Mach 2! These creatures have mass and weight; but, none of that seems to be taken into consideration as they're all sprinting around like squirrels... They're moving so fast that there's no time to really appreciate the graphics, the sheer size of these creatures or the scoring of bites. I'd like to see some reaction by these dinos to biting and being bitten! Wouldn't most creatures bite a prey animal and HANG ON? What's with the mechanic of walking two or three steps and SKIDDING to a stop?! So distracting!!! I do hope they change some of that eventually... Still, I do enjoy these vids. Keep 'em comin'!!!
Fear not pesky soon carno will be able to rule the plains again since (at least according to the devs)it will get back its high acceleration, which also means we should be able to hunt galis and utahs, imo they should add cerato to carnos diet but ill enjoy what we have for now

@@theonethatgotaway3475 the extremely fast predators tend to be more ambush oriented. you are correct in saying that these are not black and white categories, nor are they mutually exclusive. however, the fastest of predators tend to favor a shorter duration hunt rather than a very long, drawn out one (like how wolves hunt for example.) this is what i mean for Carno. this also applies to cheetahs. for cheetahs, they pursue their prey but the hunting sequence is only seconds long. carno is similar.
Alright. when playing cera (or any other dino that can fight carno) you HAVE to close the distance as quickly as possible to win. most cera players are cowards and run away, which makes them prone to charging, which is ceras only weakness (since bleed and possibly venom doesnt work on cera). once you have closed the distance, you can obliterate the carno with your superior close range weaponry. while carno does slightly more damage his bite speed is pathetic. take full advantage of carnos clunky manouverabillity by spinning around them at close range and hitting them with charged bites. the point im making is. dont let the carno get any distance during a fight. either im correct and this is all good tips for cera..... or im wrong and i just wasted my time. carnos and utahs ftw

actually cera players aren't cowards. Cera is a scavenger and fights best near a corpse. If the carno had a corpse and the cera wanted it the carno would end up losing a meal because cera are immune to damage beyond a certain threshold while eating. And they eat very fast.

They're very similar in bite force and health but carno is a hunter where as cera is a scavenger. out in the opena carno will win because it's the fastest dino. but if when it comes to stealing food from other dino's cera is king because they become immune to damage beyond a certain threshold while eating. And they eat very fast. Carno's are stun fighters, relying on their 3-4 second stun from their charge. where as cera are designed like a komodo dragon. take a bite and keep out of reach while the infection does it's thing. they get vomit sickness which means they lose most of their food and water and they lose stamina faster. so all in all it depends heavily on the situation. messing with a cera on a corpse? bad move. trying to butt heads with a carno? also a bad move. Peskie tried to butt heads and got rammed.

Once you activate this setting your bites will be the normal ones, and to do a manual ALT attack, hold down the alt key and attack

How do you bite without lunging with the cerato to open carcasses? Left click lunges for me.
