SEBI could have simply ordered (and monitored) Growpital to take necessary steps to comply with CIS regulations. One of which was not exceeding 100cr investment. Growpital could have simply been asked to return all amounts taken in excess of 100cr as a first step. Freezing accounts and letting crores of investors money to lie in current account not earning any interest cannot be condoned on the part of SEBI.
I just have to applaud your content man, well done. I remember having a consultation with a trade analyst last August, and it was incredibly insightful, at least $50k---$1M profits. Can’t stress enough how helpful experts in this field are!

SEBI has been investigating since last 7.5 months and neither have they been able to prove that Growpital is CIS nor have they returned the amount that they froze in the escrow account. It's a shame that it took an order from SAT to direct SEBI to return the frozen amount to the partners. And guess who proposed this return of the amount??? GROWPITAL! For a regulatory agency which claims to be "protector of investors' interest", SEBI has been doing just the opposite till now. They handle companies to the tune of Lakhs of crores of market capitalisation and here they are unable to prove with documentary evidence that a small company like Growpital is CIS or not.
Hahaha.. I remember in the 90s my dad has bought so many Teak trees from these agro companies. My dad used to believe that he will own these trees by the time he will retire. After he expired, i gave all those Tree certificates to raddiwala. 😅😃 I learnt a good lesson from this episode.

Put bluntly it was always a scheme to cheat people from the outset . Now that he has been caught he wants to retrieve whatever he can without the burden of being labelled a crook and sent to prison .

Growpital was recognised by the State Government and NGOs. I invested after I was 100 percent confirmed that this business was genuine. I have invested almost 8 years of my life's hard earned savings. Please, you seemed like a very popular person with high contacts. My humble request to you is to bring this situation to the notice of some influential person who could possibly help us all. I'm in great trouble and by this video, you already helped us indirectly but I want your direct intervention. Please again, don't ignore.

Can you please do an episode on the Lavasa insolvency situation where the previously announced winner, Darwin Infrastructure have now defaulted and the matter is back into the NCLT process. This after around 4 years and crores of fees being spent on the insolvency process. I remember you had done an episode where you have raised questions on Drawin's credibility which to me was suspect from Day 1. Thank you again for your efforts.
Why SEBI is not taking this seriously and timely? Because the sum of pooled money involved here in this growpital scam i.e 184 Cr is less than the net worth of Buch family from SEBI.
I am still holding a certificate of one unit from such a company, golden forest. I think the maturity date is also over long back. As I was getting no reply (about 25 years back), I forgot, taking it as lost money.
I feel it's not only the responsibility of regulatory authoritiy's to control such recurrence of scams but also the common people who need to control their greed and be well informed before investing their hard earned money in safe investment. If at all they don't understand the nitty gritty of investing then there are many ways to follow for safety of investments.

SEBI officials have illegitimate ties with the bank in which the money is frozen. Thats why they are taking too long. I am sure someone from Madhabi Puri Buch's family is employed by the bank as an consultant just like Dhaval Buch and getting paid huge salary or consultant fees.

You missed mentioning that reputed financial advisories also recommended Growpital to its customers. Lay person/investor isn't capable of doing the kind of in depth verification that you suggest, but what's the excuse of such advisory firms?!
I have no evidence of 'reputed' financial advisories recommending Growpital. But if you or anyone you know is a victim, then please file a complaint against them with SEBI on SCORES, the online complaint service. But if by 'reputed' you mean fin-influencers who do paid promotions and paid interviews, then I have certainly mentioned them and people ought not to follow them. When SEBI has a tough registration process with accountability, investors must seek the right advisors.
I differ from your points on this subject entirely. Knowing so many lost their lifetime savings in such schemes already, why invest blindly?. Greedy is the only reason. No regulatory bodies can protect such greedy people from any such disasters. May be those who invested haven't earned the money legitimately. It's only greedy or illegitimate money. Nothing wrong in losing money in such cases. Don't blame the Government or SEBI. They have issued warning ample times.
