The reason why you were struggling to find so many games is because you have you filter set to focusing. There are 2 other settings balanced and expanded. If you would've put it on expanded you would've found games in no time. I was playing games earlier this month with no problem.
I wish I could have showed ya, some custom games durring that time, becuase that was really the lifeblood of Halo 5 IMO. Not only Did I create multublie PvE AI maps like REAL AI out with scripting, but InfiniteForges and I even recreated a battle royal with a moving zone and random spawns, and thats only some of the things I made. The customs comunity was huge in H5
My personal favorite part of halo 5 was the weapon variations, which leads to my #1 game type super fiesta where you will kill or die by insanity and weird as it sounds it was the best time i had despite people abusing prophets bane and the tartarus gavel. I wish there were people still playing that game type lol.
For real. The weapon variant thing was one of my favorite parts of H5 (though we did kind of get that in Halo 2 with the two different sentinel beams). The REQ system for unlocking them, however...
I think this is so underrated, not only variations of weapons, but number of weapons as well. I hated how people defend the choices to eliminate weapons for "redundancy, oh the AR already fills the role of the SMG, the Plasma Rifle, the Suppressor", NO IT DOESN'T. And even if it did, why does that matter? Why should I be limited in my choices of how to play the game? The current Fiesta is still my preferred mode, but damn if it isn't an absolute shadow compared to Halo 5's Fiesta. I miss so many weapons...The SMG, the Beam Rifle, the DMR, the SAW, the Railgun, Incineration Cannon, Fuel Rod Cannon, The Carbine, Plasma Caster, the OG type shotgun, the Spartan Laser, heck, even the Grenade Launcher.
I really think halo 5 fiesta is the best fiesta just down to the crazy combinations and variety just shove on some music or a podcast and go nuts on fiesta/ husky raid I love it
I think Halo 5 multiplayer was really good and competitive. That being said, the campaign is not good at all. I believe that was the main issue with that game.

Honestly the campaign is not that bad, good enemy gameplay, fun levels, memorable moments, youtuber gingy describes it the best: "The campaign is a fun experience if you ignore the story. The audio logs are also an underrated gem, there are funny grunt logs, an interesting log about 2 elite brothers on opposite sides trying to convince each other to switch sides, even a log about a forerunner.
I played all Halo's during their height & 5 had my favourite multiplayer by far. Going back to the older games after 5 feels painful by how slow they are
I always found the most popular playlists to be BTB Fiesta or Warzone. I got back into playing Halo 5 over the last 2 weeks and would find matches in those playlists INSTANTLY, even at 5pm in Australia
Warzone was awesome idk why people hate halo 5 so much I know the campaign sucked but the mutiplayer was awesome and I liked the different armors I could chose for my spartan and the different firefight voices

By the time we got Halo 4, it felt like a CoD/Halo hybrid and I got burned out at SR 127. So when Halo 5 dropped, and leaned more into what I didn't like in 4, I didn't even bother giving it a chance. Years later, finally gave it a shot at a buddy's place. The campaign was ass but the MP was decent. If those mtx weapons/equipment didn't exist, I'd actually like it a lot more. Shout-out to the game modes that didn't let ppl request that stuff so we could just play the map
Your matchmaking issues in H5 can be fixed by starting a custom game at the beginning of your play session. Then, after you end the match, you can go back to the multiplayer queues and get put in without any problems. Wait times will be significantly less too. This works for solo queue, but is required for a good experience when queuing with a part/fireteam. Give it a try, you’ll thank me later. P.S. I’m on my second journey to 152 😭
I personally loved Halo 5 during my time playing it. I sadly sold my XBox One and had invested a lot of money into a Gaming PC for Infinite. So, while I wish I could go back to Halo 5, I just can't justify buying an XBox after building my PC. However, believe me when I say that if Halo 5 came to PC, I would jump back on it so fast. Halo Infinite has not given me the same joy previous Halo games have, the problems that plague it overshadow the good it has for me. I genuinely feel like it's the most restrictive customization ever, especially if you don't buy the Battle Pass or buy from the store. The lack of game modes makes it very stale very fast. Desync in the game has made me so mad that I've almost broke my controller multiple times. And the challenge system is the most idiotic thing ever, the Killjoy challenges are so bad that I stopped playing completely this week because 2 of mine were those and the weekly rewards for all the effort it takes are piss. I knew after playing Infinite for a while that people would turn on it, I saw the problems very quickly and pointed them out, only to get downvoted and ridiculed, well time has so far proven me right, and while I hope it changes (because I love Halo), I just don't know anymore. I do miss Halo 5 though, hopefully they port it to PC.

They are halo fans but really never played halo 5 MP more than 6 hours it seems. Kinda came off strange to me, I get MCC is good now and has all the halos but like. Wtf I have over 600 hours on both. Mcc is now at near 1k but still
They thought they could pull an Infinite 😂. I’m playing daily since halo 5 launched about 7 years ago and I’m still only 151 whereas I’ve maxed out the battle pass in halo infinite in 2 months 😂

I think this video summed up the H5 experience well-Campaign eh…. Multiplayer-eh AND sweaty…. Custom games-literal perfection. If infinite takes anything from H5, it would be the freedom that custom games and forge create.. the server browser is excellent
as someone who is deep in the halo community im sure you have been seeing a lot of love for halo 5 lately. (not the campaign) but everything else is getting praised. the gameplay. the sandbox. EVERYTHING. for a game a lot of people ripped on in the past a lot of them are coming around. maybe you will too because you know well a classic halo is never coming back. i will never defend halo infinite. it should've been classic or halo 5 2.0
Halo 5 was fantastic fun and I enjoyed it greatly. Campaign wasn’t good which was a huge bummer, but I thought multiplayer was amazing. Forge was revolutionary and took its greatest leap since Reach, custom games browser, a dream of mine for years, was added in Halo 5, and support for the game in its initial years was pretty awesome and exciting. I even enjoyed Warzone assault even though it could’ve used a lot of tweaks. I’m glad I got to play it as it released, it was fresh, different, competitive and exciting, but still felt in line with Halo. It’s just a shame that campaign was so lackluster, some classic game modes were added later, and that classic features like split screen weren’t present. I think those things helped drag down a really solid Halo game. Just my opinion and experience with Halo 5, I know many disagree 🤷♂️

I absolutely loved halo 5 the story I really could care less about. It’s not absolutely horrible but the game it’s self the way it played the multiplayer, warzone all the content and grind there was I loved it and spent every night waiting to go home and play halo 5 after work
Halo 5 is sentimental to me. I had so many great memories with it and even though the story didn’t make any sense I think the campaign was still fun. It was the first game I got to meet a lot of great TH-camrs in and I even became friends with a few…. So Halo 5 will forever have a place in my heart and this is coming from a player who started all the way back in the halo 3 days.
Halo 5 really needs to be added into the MCC. The campaign was mediocre, and 343 seems to concur on some level since Infinite needs occasional recaps of what actually mattered from its story (I certainly needed them), but the multiplayer was genuinely fun to play. But... (enter my Halo 3 boomer mindset) it doesn't play like a Halo game. It's more like Halo crossed with COD. It felt strange, but I play COD, so I was okay with it.
They spoke briefly on why it wouldn't be easy, mainly due to halo 5 being 90gigs, they would need to port 90gigs of assets into a game that's already reaching peak memory. The game came out in 2013 so it doesn't have the best most solid foundation code wise, and there was something about transferring halo 5 with reqs would also create new issues. Like how would you unlock req weapons when season points exist too.. I'm not 100% on this but I remember them saying it was too big of a hassle to port and might not even work
It doesn't play anything like CoD, it's insane that people think this. It's the same Halo gameplay with a few extra mechanics on top. There's so much more in FPS design that makes CoD feel like CoD and Halo feel like Halo.
Halo 5 had the best gameplay and multiplayer. It really felt evolved and like Spartans. I loved it so much I couldn't stop playing. Never been a hardcore pvp sweat but I had time of my life in Halo 5... I was rank 148 and uverything unlocked not by grinding but just having fun.
Grew up on halo 2 & 3 and they used to be my favorite MP experience until H5. I absolutely love how modern it feels compared to any other halo, infinite included.
I truly miss halo 5 now. Used to play that game for hours. It was my most played game for 5 years straight in my Xbox memories thing. The only reason I don't play anymore is because I don't have an Xbox anymore. I understand the hate for this game but seriously the multiplayer is imo the peak of halo. 👌
to you it is but to many people me included it lost what made the originals so great everyone started out equal you couldn't just buy a fancy weapon and always win consistently you had to master what made each weapon unique instead of always using a buffed up assault rifle now you may have your own opinion and i respect that halo 5 can be your favorite multiplayer experience but to me i have far better memories in 3 and reach
@@mr.breadman4181 just like the rocket crew you didn’t spend much time playing at all. The multiplayer always started players off on even ground with the same weapons. The only time you stepped out of that was fiesta or warzone. I’ve been saying that halo 5 was way too hated well before infinite launched and in my opinion it’s better than halo 4 in every way including campaign. The only change in multiplayer from the original three was movement and they added way more customization for armor than they needed to which was incredible. I felt like my armor was unique in ever match I played for years.
@@AgentK1939 like i said its my opinion and you can have yours but to me the bungie games will always be better than 5 and even if that is only on one part of the mp you forget that on the rest of the mp every gun is basically the same 5 lost the fun of the sandbox you didn't NEED to change weapons to get an advantage you chose to and that's another thing tons of people absolutely hated you could literally turn the ar into a borderline br or sniper and i played halo 5 so i have personally done that with the ar every gun was good at killing it dulled the sandbox the only stuff that massively changed how you needed to play was the missile launcher and don't even get me started on the launch halo 5 missile launcher dear god all 343 had to do was put the spank3r not add it later as a special version and how was the campaign better only game play wise maybe but story wise its a main title HALO game yet the master chief is a side character in his own story
I actually like Halo 5 over some other halo games, I said it, I fucking said it, I'm sorry bungie stans, but I actually like the idea of Spartans being actual super soldiers that can slam the ground, USE their suits and abilities and fucking AIM, not just some dumb looking character that just jumps and cant run, and the Campaign is better than you make it appear, yeah "blah blah blah Locke couldn't be able to do this, Locke shouldn't be able to do that blah blah", I get it, but the Campaign actually makes you feel like a spartan, wide variety of vehicles and it expands the lore of the forerunners a lot more, which is better than just "Covenant evil, we must stop the aliens for the 303th time" the multiple sub plots are important too, MP and WZ were the bomb and a lot better excluding the lootboxes (which you can actually get by playing the game normally) Overall its a 8.6/10
As far as I’m concerned, once you get a hang of it it’s the greatest multiplayer out of all the halos. (Though I am a bit bias since I love the competitive and technical aspects of the game)

This might sound crazy, but hear me out. What if, 343i, right, decided to release (drumroll) a game BUT The game had all content ready BEFORE launch and got ideas approved through flights Pretty crazy right?
I remember enjoying breakout (The first version for reasons I cant remember). Infection I found really fun (especially with all the different maps) and the custom games were also really good. The one I remember was Mantis breakout but there was plenty of custom games that were awesome. I love the forge and how they kept the weapon combination glitch which allowed for maximum chaos with friends
19:39 you actually aren't supposed to open gold packs at a low level you want to open bronze then silver because the game has no duplicates and Req packs aren't "Random" when it comes to permanent unlocks.
Halo 5 is the best. My friends and I all have thousands of hours on this game and it's just so good. The gameplay is smooth, tons of weapons and maps that are all good, different modes, looks great, the abilities are awesome and fun, the design for the vehicles are super cool.. it's the best Halo. Hands down.
Definately depends on preference and nostalgia tbh, I started playing halo in 4 and 5 so I was absolutely mindblown by halo 5’s tech and gameplay systems the first time I started it up. Just looking at halo infinites gameplay is discouraging for me. I miss halo 5
I love the game a lot, but I can understand why fans hate it because they made Cortana into a villain after all she went through to save the Master Chief from the Didact in Halo 4. It would have been better if she remains dead and have the Warden as the main antagonist. Fireteam Osiris can always appear in spin-offs, like have them looking for other Covenant extremists. Sadly, the story is poorly executed. The Campaign is fun and reminds me of Reach and Halo 3.
this video feels like if a big Macbook user decided to try building a PC, but they put like a 3rd gen i3 and a GTX 950 in it, and then was disappointed that it didn’t perform well. playing at the wee hours of the night on a game released 8 years ago that isn’t the newest in the franchise is just not giving it a fair chance. not to mention that i saw someone say that the not all of them were from the same region so that is a very possible reason for connection issues. glad they didn’t hate it, but shortsighted nonetheless.
Halo 5 should be added to the MCC on Xbox and PC. It can't survive on its own and it would make sure the game is preserved for the foreseeable future rather than relelgated to abandonedware.
Man, I loved Halo 5. Just wish they'd make a decent PC port. Loved the gunplay, forge and MP. Had over 100d on H5. Even loved the campaign, even though the story was bad but getting out of the maps, getting all the achievements was fun!
Before everyone try’s to kill me. I don’t mind halo 5, I think it’s multiplayer is pretty good, not as good as the other games, (other than 4.) Also halo 5 was the game I entered into the community, so I kinda need to like it.

It’s true that vitriol is at its highest upon release, because it’s when emotions are highest. It’s also true that the largest proportion of Halo fans recognize halo 3 to be the best multiplayer created, and the original 3 games to be pretty peak campaign, with ODST and Reach also outperforming any 343 stuff. All I know if I can play Halo 3 day or night, any day of the week, and always get a game to this day in 2023. And most of the serious twitch players that aren’t doing infinite are focused on H3 primarily. If they ever release halo 3 anniversary, it will be a big moment.
i dont think theyd release halo 3 anniversary for a long while the game already runs 60 fps and looks gorgeous on mcc, not that i wouldn’t love that they could always add more to classic halo and revamp it, i just wish halo infinite had been left in the oven longer. 500 million dollar budget and they couldn’t even release a game with a memorable map, barely any game modes on launch, lackluster story, (freeroam was amazing the storyline was painful) like honestly who didnt enjoy swinging around like an ape with the slingshot? or the boss battle in the tower? they did some things right but even then just didnt feel like halo i mean the dialogue is a straight corny rendition by someone who never played halo, i just dont understand
I couldnt get behind Halo 5s forge simply because I was being petty about the controls, just too stubborn to relearn the controls when the ones on reach and 3 we're more or less the same and work perfectly fine 🤷🏾♂️
I love the way Halo 5 plays. It feels the most smooth for me out of all of the other Halo games. Campaign was ok, but multiplayer and war zone was great with so many weapons and vehicles you can use.
I got my old halo 5 guardians Xbox one plugged in a couple months ago and played some halo 5 and had a lot of fun. The queue times were pretty decent but I think this was when infinite was in beta. I had always loved halo 5 for its multiplayer and had a lot of fun again. Hope they add it to MCC so it won’t be so hard to find matches in the future
Personally I find Reach, 4, and H2C/H2A the best titles for party based multiplayer. Y'know gamenights where you can get drunk/high with friends and still have fun, and honestly now I'd definitely add H5 to that list.
I never played 4 or 5 til covid lockdown 2020. 4 was about what I expected, ok game but not really up to halo standards. 5 was shockingly bad. Can’t believe the same boss is reused like 10 times and the story was just 🤢
@@MM-op6ti I feel it, i got four when it came out and it wasn't terrible just didn't live up to the expectation/hype for chief's story after halo 3. Tried to give five the benefit of the doubt but was pretty disappointed, it's the only halo game that was so lame to me i didn't finish the campaign
for me, if 4 had a better didact confrontation/fight and overall pacing (rather than a quick time event) it wouldve been the ideal place to end at the very least cortanas story. honestly the chiefs as well if whats come after is the best they can think of. they reallllllly destroyed the emotional impact af cortanas death by just bringing her back. as for multiplayer, reach was my favorite followed by h4 never had an OG xbox and h3’s multiplayer was too competitive for a filthy casual like me so i played mw2 and battlefield. its weird seeing your favorite childhood franchises just get… dragged out for too long.
The halo 5 story wasn't that bad it was just marketed completely wrong. Buck being back, all the characters having different visuals in co op, and the world building (which might honestly be the best of the series) is honestly really good. The story is kinda mid but I think Locke is a good character that never really had a chance

Warzone Firefight has lots of population still I occasionally grind out a few games there from time to time but honestly I'm not gonna try for 152. I'm level 141 and still way too far from the goal to make it a priority. Maybe if it comes to PC and more of my friends can join in some games I'd come back and put more time into it
I'm 147 and I've been that way for weeks on end. Granted I don't play 5 anymore and I've uninstalled it but when I heard the grind from 01-150 takes the same amount of time to go from 150-152 i just gave up. That is so damn crazy
I enjoyed the hell outta Halo 5’s multiplayer & still do. Warzone & Firefight are great fun. I’m one of those people that can jump on any Halo multiplayer & within a match or 2 I’m in the groove & having fun

Honestly, I enjoyed H5. It's not my favorite Halo (that would be either 4 or Reach. Fight me), but honestly I don't get why people hated the entire game due to a few questionable decisions. Don't get me wrong, REQs were stupid and should not have existed (though the idea of weapon variants is neat, loot boxes are the worst gaming invention of all time). And Chief should not have had trouble fighting Locke. But things like Spartan Abilities people seem to just hate because they're different from previous games.

Only people who didn't play the old halos like halo 5's MP. that being said, it's not a bad MP, it's just indicative of 343's design philosophy -- which is to say, they made it as far from halo as they could make it; a focus on enticing newer players. halo 5 ignored what the old halos did, and found moderate success. this is why halo as we know it will be a different game, fundamentally, than the what made the old halos great.
Well, Halo infinite ignited my roommates interest in Halo, so I plan on going through all the campaigns with him, which does include Halo 5, so I suppose I do intend to go through 5 again, but apparently only the campaign since you've proven matchmaking is scuffed.

If you're playing H5 on the new Xbox Series X/S you have to load it into a custom game alone first before playing match making. That'll help with getting kicked before loading into a lobby issue.
Halo 5 is great only game I played before I got MCC. Good times, I can see why people don't like it because of story reasons but it isn't a bad game, micro transactions are still better than infinite at least
Warzone Firefight, Infection, Customs, and BTB super fiesta are the modes people play nowadays. Assassination-only Custom games are very fun and attract a ton of attention for h5 players and so you’ll have your best luck there next time you pick up halo 5 again.

@@AlejoConejo-vb8ln how can you judge it without trying it. You’ll have some fun if you give it a shot but it doesn’t play the same as the classic halos on campaign. You have to stay back and pick things off for the most part instead of run and gun. But it’s still pretty fun and better than most FPS today.

Although I don’t play it anymore, I’m rank 84 on halo 5 and have a lot of great memories of the custom games in a lfg with everyone shouting something about whatever the infected was doing and crouching in a corner and turning to look at the person next to me also hiding. Even if the campaign sucked there was still was a great experience and a good game, just not a halo game.
Personally it’s not that bad. It to me used to epitomize the Modern halo experience. Now I feel like Halo Infinite is the first Modern Halo but it’s still unfinished so I have waaaay more gameplay options in guardians which might be a trap tbh
I remember the day it really set in for me when I was younger that Halo Wars "Died" online, where I was searching for a match and ended up falling asleep while waiting, only to discover after waking up that it was still searching.
i've been meaning to play h5, mp and campaign. a lot of the game has grown on me and looks really fun. i never really played h4 and h5, only a few online mp matches of each when they both released but i remember thinking how much better h5 was. but i never went back because my friends never got into it. i have since played half of h4 campaign but that's it
If H5 was on PC, my buddy and I would be playing that on doubles rather than not playing a Halo game at all. We have hopped on and played MCC campaign though.
I recently reinstalled halo 5 to finish off legendary The warden eternal boss fights were as unfun as i remembered them to be And the sniper jackals gave me halo 2 legendary PTSD
I agree about the Warden - I get what they were trying to do, to create a familiarity with the boss rather than being one-and-done like most videogame bosses. And create a sense of dread because it, like the Flood, soomed to numerous to actually be finally killed. But he was annoying to fight at the end, where he was in 4 bodies.
I grinded halo 5 for 10 months and I somehow got to level 152 of course though the reward for infinite sucks but still I’m proud of it I grinded for about 170,000 xp a day
I would definitely play Halo 5 again if it gets an update where you get 4 player splitscreen. Hell, I think they should also add all the other settings they put in MCC once they've sorted out their crap with Halo Infinite
I love H5. It's pretty much all I play! I prefer the movement. funny how people complain about the abilities in this game but love the grappledick in Infinite, cos we've always swung about like Tarzan in Halo :')
That about the absence of players for me is a lie, there are still millions but the matrix has trapped us in that physical prison. This game its definitly awesome, i actually think these spartan are the best, more evolved than other Halos, you can do more, guardians remember?

My personal favorite part of halo 5 was the weapon variations, which leads to my #1 game type super fiesta where you will kill or die by insanity and weird as it sounds it was the best time i had despite people abusing prophets bane and the tartarus gavel. I wish there were people still playing that game type lol.

For real. The weapon variant thing was one of my favorite parts of H5 (though we did kind of get that in Halo 2 with the two different sentinel beams).

I think this is so underrated, not only variations of weapons, but number of weapons as well. I hated how people defend the choices to eliminate weapons for "redundancy, oh the AR already fills the role of the SMG, the Plasma Rifle, the Suppressor", NO IT DOESN'T. And even if it did, why does that matter? Why should I be limited in my choices of how to play the game? The current Fiesta is still my preferred mode, but damn if it isn't an absolute shadow compared to Halo 5's Fiesta. I miss so many weapons...The SMG, the Beam Rifle, the DMR, the SAW, the Railgun, Incineration Cannon, Fuel Rod Cannon, The Carbine, Plasma Caster, the OG type shotgun, the Spartan Laser, heck, even the Grenade Launcher.

I really think halo 5 fiesta is the best fiesta just down to the crazy combinations and variety just shove on some music or a podcast and go nuts on fiesta/ husky raid I love it
I think Halo 5 multiplayer was really good and competitive. That being said, the campaign is not good at all. I believe that was the main issue with that game.
Mp is great. Campaign is pure bootyass. Warzone is very hit or miss

The audio logs are also an underrated gem, there are funny grunt logs, an interesting log about 2 elite brothers on opposite sides trying to convince each other to switch sides, even a log about a forerunner.

I always found the most popular playlists to be BTB Fiesta or Warzone. I got back into playing Halo 5 over the last 2 weeks and would find matches in those playlists INSTANTLY, even at 5pm in Australia

By the time we got Halo 4, it felt like a CoD/Halo hybrid and I got burned out at SR 127. So when Halo 5 dropped, and leaned more into what I didn't like in 4, I didn't even bother giving it a chance. Years later, finally gave it a shot at a buddy's place. The campaign was ass but the MP was decent. If those mtx weapons/equipment didn't exist, I'd actually like it a lot more. Shout-out to the game modes that didn't let ppl request that stuff so we could just play the map

I don't even like Halo 5 MP and I can say it's better than Infinite.
Your matchmaking issues in H5 can be fixed by starting a custom game at the beginning of your play session. Then, after you end the match, you can go back to the multiplayer queues and get put in without any problems. Wait times will be significantly less too. This works for solo queue, but is required for a good experience when queuing with a part/fireteam. Give it a try, you’ll thank me later.

I personally loved Halo 5 during my time playing it. I sadly sold my XBox One and had invested a lot of money into a Gaming PC for Infinite. So, while I wish I could go back to Halo 5, I just can't justify buying an XBox after building my PC. However, believe me when I say that if Halo 5 came to PC, I would jump back on it so fast. Halo Infinite has not given me the same joy previous Halo games have, the problems that plague it overshadow the good it has for me. I genuinely feel like it's the most restrictive customization ever, especially if you don't buy the Battle Pass or buy from the store. The lack of game modes makes it very stale very fast. Desync in the game has made me so mad that I've almost broke my controller multiple times. And the challenge system is the most idiotic thing ever, the Killjoy challenges are so bad that I stopped playing completely this week because 2 of mine were those and the weekly rewards for all the effort it takes are piss. I knew after playing Infinite for a while that people would turn on it, I saw the problems very quickly and pointed them out, only to get downvoted and ridiculed, well time has so far proven me right, and while I hope it changes (because I love Halo), I just don't know anymore. I do miss Halo 5 though, hopefully they port it to PC.

Halo 5 was fantastic fun and I enjoyed it greatly. Campaign wasn’t good which was a huge bummer, but I thought multiplayer was amazing.
Forge was revolutionary and took its greatest leap since Reach, custom games browser, a dream of mine for years, was added in Halo 5, and support for the game in its initial years was pretty awesome and exciting. I even enjoyed Warzone assault even though it could’ve used a lot of tweaks.
I’m glad I got to play it as it released, it was fresh, different, competitive and exciting, but still felt in line with Halo.
It’s just a shame that campaign was so lackluster, some classic game modes were added later, and that classic features like split screen weren’t present. I think those things helped drag down a really solid Halo game.
Just my opinion and experience with Halo 5, I know many disagree 🤷♂️

Halo 5 is sentimental to me. I had so many great memories with it and even though the story didn’t make any sense I think the campaign was still fun. It was the first game I got to meet a lot of great TH-camrs in and I even became friends with a few…. So Halo 5 will forever have a place in my heart and this is coming from a player who started all the way back in the halo 3 days.
Halo 5 really needs to be added into the MCC. The campaign was mediocre, and 343 seems to concur on some level since Infinite needs occasional recaps of what actually mattered from its story (I certainly needed them), but the multiplayer was genuinely fun to play. But... (enter my Halo 3 boomer mindset) it doesn't play like a Halo game. It's more like Halo crossed with COD. It felt strange, but I play COD, so I was okay with it.
They spoke briefly on why it wouldn't be easy, mainly due to halo 5 being 90gigs, they would need to port 90gigs of assets into a game that's already reaching peak memory. The game came out in 2013 so it doesn't have the best most solid foundation code wise, and there was something about transferring halo 5 with reqs would also create new issues. Like how would you unlock req weapons when season points exist too.. I'm not 100% on this but I remember them saying it was too big of a hassle to port and might not even work

Miss the inherent boosting of H5. We went from that, to a hook on a rope in Infinite.
Halo 5 had the best gameplay and multiplayer. It really felt evolved and like Spartans. I loved it so much I couldn't stop playing.
Never been a hardcore pvp sweat but I had time of my life in Halo 5... I was rank 148 and uverything unlocked not by grinding but just having fun.
Grew up on halo 2 & 3 and they used to be my favorite MP experience until H5. I absolutely love how modern it feels compared to any other halo, infinite included.

@@mr.breadman4181 just like the rocket crew you didn’t spend much time playing at all. The multiplayer always started players off on even ground with the same weapons. The only time you stepped out of that was fiesta or warzone. I’ve been saying that halo 5 was way too hated well before infinite launched and in my opinion it’s better than halo 4 in every way including campaign. The only change in multiplayer from the original three was movement and they added way more customization for armor than they needed to which was incredible. I felt like my armor was unique in ever match I played for years.

I actually like Halo 5 over some other halo games, I said it, I fucking said it, I'm sorry bungie stans, but I actually like the idea of Spartans being actual super soldiers that can slam the ground, USE their suits and abilities and fucking AIM, not just some dumb looking character that just jumps and cant run, and the Campaign is better than you make it appear, yeah "blah blah blah Locke couldn't be able to do this, Locke shouldn't be able to do that blah blah", I get it, but the Campaign actually makes you feel like a spartan, wide variety of vehicles and it expands the lore of the forerunners a lot more, which is better than just "Covenant evil, we must stop the aliens for the 303th time" the multiple sub plots are important too, MP and WZ were the bomb and a lot better excluding the lootboxes (which you can actually get by playing the game normally)

As far as I’m concerned, once you get a hang of it it’s the greatest multiplayer out of all the halos. (Though I am a bit bias since I love the competitive and technical aspects of the game)

I remember enjoying breakout (The first version for reasons I cant remember). Infection I found really fun (especially with all the different maps) and the custom games were also really good. The one I remember was Mantis breakout but there was plenty of custom games that were awesome. I love the forge and how they kept the weapon combination glitch which allowed for maximum chaos with friends

19:39 you actually aren't supposed to open gold packs at a low level you want to open bronze then silver because the game has no duplicates and Req packs aren't "Random" when it comes to permanent unlocks.
Halo 5 is the best. My friends and I all have thousands of hours on this game and it's just so good. The gameplay is smooth, tons of weapons and maps that are all good, different modes, looks great, the abilities are awesome and fun, the design for the vehicles are super cool.. it's the best Halo. Hands down.
Definately depends on preference and nostalgia tbh, I started playing halo in 4 and 5 so I was absolutely mindblown by halo 5’s tech and gameplay systems the first time I started it up. Just looking at halo infinites gameplay is discouraging for me. I miss halo 5
I love the game a lot, but I can understand why fans hate it because they made Cortana into a villain after all she went through to save the Master Chief from the Didact in Halo 4. It would have been better if she remains dead and have the Warden as the main antagonist. Fireteam Osiris can always appear in spin-offs, like have them looking for other Covenant extremists. Sadly, the story is poorly executed. The Campaign is fun and reminds me of Reach and Halo 3.

this video feels like if a big Macbook user decided to try building a PC, but they put like a 3rd gen i3 and a GTX 950 in it, and then was disappointed that it didn’t perform well. playing at the wee hours of the night on a game released 8 years ago that isn’t the newest in the franchise is just not giving it a fair chance. not to mention that i saw someone say that the not all of them were from the same region so that is a very possible reason for connection issues. glad they didn’t hate it, but shortsighted nonetheless.
Halo 5 should be added to the MCC on Xbox and PC. It can't survive on its own and it would make sure the game is preserved for the foreseeable future rather than relelgated to abandonedware.
Mcc stands for “Master Chief Collection”, you play as chief for barely any of the game in 5.

It’s true that vitriol is at its highest upon release, because it’s when emotions are highest.
It’s also true that the largest proportion of Halo fans recognize halo 3 to be the best multiplayer created, and the original 3 games to be pretty peak campaign, with ODST and Reach also outperforming any 343 stuff.
All I know if I can play Halo 3 day or night, any day of the week, and always get a game to this day in 2023. And most of the serious twitch players that aren’t doing infinite are focused on H3 primarily.
If they ever release halo 3 anniversary, it will be a big moment.
i dont think theyd release halo 3 anniversary for a long while the game already runs 60 fps and looks gorgeous on mcc, not that i wouldn’t love that they could always add more to classic halo and revamp it, i just wish halo infinite had been left in the oven longer. 500 million dollar budget and they couldn’t even release a game with a memorable map, barely any game modes on launch, lackluster story, (freeroam was amazing the storyline was painful) like honestly who didnt enjoy swinging around like an ape with the slingshot? or the boss battle in the tower? they did some things right but even then just didnt feel like halo i mean the dialogue is a straight corny rendition by someone who never played halo, i just dont understand

I couldnt get behind Halo 5s forge simply because I was being petty about the controls, just too stubborn to relearn the controls when the ones on reach and 3 we're more or less the same and work perfectly fine 🤷🏾♂️

I love the way Halo 5 plays. It feels the most smooth for me out of all of the other Halo games. Campaign was ok, but multiplayer and war zone was great with so many weapons and vehicles you can use.
Campaign was not ok. Mp was alot of fun. Just didn't play or feel like halo. More like Advance warefare with a halo skin mod.
My problem with war zone is to get good weapons you have to have good luck or kill someone with a op weapon
I got my old halo 5 guardians Xbox one plugged in a couple months ago and played some halo 5 and had a lot of fun. The queue times were pretty decent but I think this was when infinite was in beta. I had always loved halo 5 for its multiplayer and had a lot of fun again. Hope they add it to MCC so it won’t be so hard to find matches in the future

Personally I find Reach, 4, and H2C/H2A the best titles for party based multiplayer. Y'know gamenights where you can get drunk/high with friends and still have fun, and honestly now I'd definitely add H5 to that list.

for me, if 4 had a better didact confrontation/fight and overall pacing (rather than a quick time event) it wouldve been the ideal place to end at the very least cortanas story. honestly the chiefs as well if whats come after is the best they can think of. they reallllllly destroyed the emotional impact af cortanas death by just bringing her back. as for multiplayer, reach was my favorite followed by h4 never had an OG xbox and h3’s multiplayer was too competitive for a filthy casual like me so i played mw2 and battlefield. its weird seeing your favorite childhood franchises just get… dragged out for too long.

The halo 5 story wasn't that bad it was just marketed completely wrong. Buck being back, all the characters having different visuals in co op, and the world building (which might honestly be the best of the series) is honestly really good. The story is kinda mid but I think Locke is a good character that never really had a chance

I occasionally grind out a few games there from time to time but honestly I'm not gonna try for 152. I'm level 141 and still way too far from the goal to make it a priority.
Maybe if it comes to PC and more of my friends can join in some games I'd come back and put more time into it

I'm 147 and I've been that way for weeks on end. Granted I don't play 5 anymore and I've uninstalled it but when I heard the grind from 01-150 takes the same amount of time to go from 150-152 i just gave up. That is so damn crazy

I honestly liked most of halo 5, the pistol and br feel pretty good, halo infinite weapon mechanics are so different to me it just doesn’t feel right

I enjoyed the hell outta Halo 5’s multiplayer & still do. Warzone & Firefight are great fun. I’m one of those people that can jump on any Halo multiplayer & within a match or 2 I’m in the groove & having fun

Honestly, I enjoyed H5. It's not my favorite Halo (that would be either 4 or Reach. Fight me), but honestly I don't get why people hated the entire game due to a few questionable decisions.
Don't get me wrong, REQs were stupid and should not have existed (though the idea of weapon variants is neat, loot boxes are the worst gaming invention of all time). And Chief should not have had trouble fighting Locke. But things like Spartan Abilities people seem to just hate because they're different from previous games.

I put many hours of playtime into the MP of Halo 5. Warzone especially got addicting! Wish they would bring it back in some way (minus req packs).

Only people who didn't play the old halos like halo 5's MP. that being said, it's not a bad MP, it's just indicative of 343's design philosophy -- which is to say, they made it as far from halo as they could make it; a focus on enticing newer players. halo 5 ignored what the old halos did, and found moderate success. this is why halo as we know it will be a different game, fundamentally, than the what made the old halos great.

Well, Halo infinite ignited my roommates interest in Halo, so I plan on going through all the campaigns with him, which does include Halo 5, so I suppose I do intend to go through 5 again, but apparently only the campaign since you've proven matchmaking is scuffed.

The game is definitely dead but if you want matches. Play during the afternooon and on weekends. Week days and the mornings are hard to match.

If you're playing H5 on the new Xbox Series X/S you have to load it into a custom game alone first before playing match making. That'll help with getting kicked before loading into a lobby issue.
Halo 5 is great only game I played before I got MCC. Good times, I can see why people don't like it because of story reasons but it isn't a bad game, micro transactions are still better than infinite at least
The micro transactions weren’t even a problem since you eventually just started unlocking everything later on

Warzone Firefight, Infection, Customs, and BTB super fiesta are the modes people play nowadays. Assassination-only Custom games are very fun and attract a ton of attention for h5 players and so you’ll have your best luck there next time you pick up halo 5 again.

@@AlejoConejo-vb8ln how can you judge it without trying it. You’ll have some fun if you give it a shot but it doesn’t play the same as the classic halos on campaign. You have to stay back and pick things off for the most part instead of run and gun. But it’s still pretty fun and better than most FPS today.

Although I don’t play it anymore, I’m rank 84 on halo 5 and have a lot of great memories of the custom games in a lfg with everyone shouting something about whatever the infected was doing and crouching in a corner and turning to look at the person next to me also hiding. Even if the campaign sucked there was still was a great experience and a good game, just not a halo game.

Halo 5 Guardians certainly felt more polished compared to Halo Infinite. Even the menu alone is better than Infinite’s.
Personally it’s not that bad. It to me used to epitomize the Modern halo experience. Now I feel like Halo Infinite is the first Modern Halo but it’s still unfinished so I have waaaay more gameplay options in guardians which might be a trap tbh
I remember the day it really set in for me when I was younger that Halo Wars "Died" online, where I was searching for a match and ended up falling asleep while waiting, only to discover after waking up that it was still searching.

i've been meaning to play h5, mp and campaign. a lot of the game has grown on me and looks really fun. i never really played h4 and h5, only a few online mp matches of each when they both released but i remember thinking how much better h5 was. but i never went back because my friends never got into it. i have since played half of h4 campaign but that's it

If H5 was on PC, my buddy and I would be playing that on doubles rather than not playing a Halo game at all. We have hopped on and played MCC campaign though.
Halo 5 multiplayer is amazing. Smooth movement, snappy aiming and gunplay, and it had some of the best maps in Halo history.

I agree about the Warden - I get what they were trying to do, to create a familiarity with the boss rather than being one-and-done like most videogame bosses. And create a sense of dread because it, like the Flood, soomed to numerous to actually be finally killed. But he was annoying to fight at the end, where he was in 4 bodies.
I grinded halo 5 for 10 months and I somehow got to level 152 of course though the reward for infinite sucks but still I’m proud of it I grinded for about 170,000 xp a day
I would definitely play Halo 5 again if it gets an update where you get 4 player splitscreen. Hell, I think they should also add all the other settings they put in MCC once they've sorted out their crap with Halo Infinite
I love H5. It's pretty much all I play! I prefer the movement. funny how people complain about the abilities in this game but love the grappledick in Infinite, cos we've always swung about like Tarzan in Halo :')

That about the absence of players for me is a lie, there are still millions but the matrix has trapped us in that physical prison. This game its definitly awesome, i actually think these spartan are the best, more evolved than other Halos, you can do more, guardians remember?
