+PhilipStephens007 What's the best way to attach the trees to their bases? I was planning on branching the copper wire flat onto hardboard and use hot-glue. To cover up the wires I was thinking of using either paper mache or even spackle. Let me know if this could work.
+Slow Ham try this method: www.amazon.in/Trees-Jute-Twines-Prabal-Sharma-ebook/dp/B01E5XTHBK/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1460537867&sr=1-1&keywords=model+train+trees
sorry for taking so long to respond (I only saw your coment) Great to see you tackling trees and things at your age. Cool! The twine I use is the twine that potatoe sacks are tied with here. I pick it up in the street. But I have seen it on sale in the shops. Its like the old twine that packages were tied up with in your youth. Some rolls are neater in the fibre and easier to comb than others. You need a raesonably wide toothed comb, and persistence. blessings to you
Great tutorial - these are the best home produced trees I have seen described. Love the variation in colour too. You don't get that from commercial trees. Thanks for posting!
Thanks! You just saved me a pile of money on my train layout! If you have any tips on making a snowy layout/miniatures, like snow on rooftiops, cars etc. It would be greatly appreciated. You are a master at what you do :-)
Hombre de Dios ,has hecho que se me escapen unas lagrimas , que linda técnica ,gracias Man of God, I've done that a few tears escape, bordering technique, thanks
hello, want to know what do you use to put on the trees: is it short electrostatic grass, (fiber), foam or small chip of wood. Your pine trees are the best i have never seen !!
i just bought paint ang dried some sawdust in the oven at low heat for about an hour, and than mixed paint and some water in a small plastic container, then i just gradually added and stired sawdust down. when the sawdust stops binding the paint, stop adding sawdust. then just strain it through a house strainer, unless your mom/girlfriend wont let you :P
Do you happen to know what the devise is called that you used to twist the wires? The wooden handled devise. Any input would be great thank you and keep up the great work :)
the green saw dust.. can you buy it that color anywhere or do you make it... if you paint saw dust, wont it just glue together....do the 2 colors have specificate names that I can get in a hobby store.. thanks.
FINALLY! A good looking, quick and easy method. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to find this lol
+Slow Ham Great. Yeah, I had the same problem, that's why I did the tutorial.:) Have fun.
