    just got one of these, charged it with usb for hours. no indication on the battery level. opened it up and the 11.1v lipo has only 150millivolts after hours of charging.

      @@JoeTheFarmer the whole RMA and return process is so troublesome and time consuming at best, I looked into it a little closer and one of the wires to the battery was broken. I slipped some heat shrink over the wire, soldered it together, heated the shrink wrap, and it seems fine now.

    Running multiple Fusion Cameras throughout the state. No regrets so far. And tech support has always been helpful, though it is hard getting in! Most of my tech support comes out of Texas and they have always been helpful, but this week I was linked up with a New Mexico agent who was spot on regarding a newly added fusion camera.

      Awesome to hear! They are a value cell cam no matter how you slice it. Not perfect but they get the job done. The Covert are prob the best that I have run but you could buy more than 2 Fusions for the price of one covert. Good luck this season!!!

    Hey Joe I just bought the Stealth Fusion & had actually taken back the sol panel I had purchased similar to yours(it was the older version I believe & I saw bad reviews about water getting in). I got the large 12v battery + solar panel made by the same company, looks like an ammo can. It seems pretty solid, haven’t set it up yet that is how I found your video. I wish I would have kept the smaller panel now and at least tried it out first(it had a 12v battery built in also). When you set the app/phone service up did you actually have to visit a Verizon store or just set it up from the app? I ask b/c I have a different cell carrier that uses Verizon towers. Thanks for the video:)

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Lilmama, thanks for watching! I have both the ammo can type by HME and 3 sol-packs that we are running. I did have to return two of the Sol-Packs but the company was very easy to work with on the warranty exchange (they just wouldn’t charge, no matter what!). I think that the performance of the ammo can style works marginally better; but depending on what you need it for...it is not easily concealed. I will say that the Fusion battery life has been VERY impressive.
      As for the cell service; your phone has no relation to the camera other than using the app to review pictures. The cam has its own sim card. Just be aware of what type of carrier gives the best service where you will put the camera. If you download the app with any phone carrier and scan the QR code you will be up and running! It is incredibly simple and StealthCam has made what used to be an arduous process very easy.
      Let me know if you have any other questions!

    So it’s been 2 years. I have a stealth cam fusion, need to run solar on it as the property is 3hrs away from where I live. What’s the verdict now?

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m still really happy with it. Agree on battery but if you have it transmit a few times a day and use lithium batteries its a solid camera for the price. Running a handful and only lost one and was replaced under warranty

      Sorry for the delay; but apparently my response from a month ago was deleted somehow. They are good; not great. But for $59 they are as expected. They DO extend the battery life by about 50% but the solar recharging is fair at best and there is not a way to manually recharge them. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! -JTF

      Hey Squido; thanks for watching. You do not need rechargeable batteries (at least the instructions don’t mention it), I have been using regular batteries. Also, the one I had replaced under warranty has worked great! The ones I had to send back not so much. Hope this helps!

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it’s hit or miss. Had three, and two died and had to be replaced. The HME solar battery may be the better bet. Same thing but I believe it has been upgraded from the Stealthcam model. Both GSM products and the warranty process is pretty decent if you get a bad one.

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Leland, thanks for watching! The Sol-Pak does not have replaceable batteries in it. It is a closed system that also doesn’t let you charge it. HME has one that is nearly identical that seems to get better reviews. After a year, 1 worked flawlessly and the other two not so much. If you pick one up, I suggest looking for the HME (GSM Outdoors owns both brands, nearly an identical product). Hope this helps! We appreciate you reaching out! 😁👍🏼👊🏼
