Thanks all you guys for your great comments, it makes me realise how lucky I was to have her in my life! I was Lynda's husband and she was pregnant with our first child in this clip- we didn't dare tell the band-LOL. I was also a pro singer- that's how we met. When the band eventually split-we formed a double act and toured the world living like royalty in 5 star hotels as their featured "Stars". We ended up living in Australia (toured there) but It all came to a very sad end. I lost them both- Lynda in 1998 and James (our unborn son in her tummy on this video) -in 2005. Completely unrelated events. At Lynda's funeral I played this song and others. I felt we should celebrate her pretty amazing life. I just stumbled across this tonight, and saw all your really cool comments. I'm back in the UK now to be closer to my daughter and 4 grandchildren-I was married twice -still get on great with my first wife, but I miss them both every day.
Christopher Kelly If I may ask, what happened to Lynda? She must have been quite young if she died in 1998. I have an old Record Mirror that has an interview with Lynda and 5000 Volts. They were putting together their album at the time and Lynda mentioned being pregnant. Sorry for your losses.
Thanks Bobby - she died far too young- and a irreplaceable friend and wonderful wife. We travelled the world extensively after Volts as a double act- I'm also a singer and we met in a great vocal harmony band. A tragic loss. She had a very severe illness in India- we were working at the Oberoi in Bombay-it was related to Dengue but far worse. She recovered and we hadn't understood the implications long term. In a nutshell one organ collapsed and it was a domino effect. James got into Heroin and died after overdosing- he'd been clean for a number of weeks-I imagine his resistance was very low. That was incredibly sad. An intelligent and gifted young man- GREAT voice. I've never remarried or found anybody even close to the bond and depth we enjoyed. Appreciate your care:-)
Christopher Kelly Thank you for replying. It’s all very sad. I’ve often looked for Lynda on the internet but can’t find much. She deserves a tribute website where fans can visit. Dr Kiss Kiss will always remind me of the hot summer of 1976. And the clips on here are how l’ll always remember Lynda. Young and beautiful and obviously very happy.

I have juste found this clip. It's the first time I ever see the band. All we had was this 8 track tape that always played in the car and I loved it. I was 5-6 years old at the time, it made a lasting impression. Amazing!

I remember 5,000 Volts kept having different singers. Tina Charles & Luan Peters were better looking, but I always did think Linda Kelly was the best singer, & such a sexy voice.

Lynda Kelly on vocals, NOT Tina Charles; she left in 1975 and this song was released in 1976. Apart from anything else, the raspy tone was not Charles's style.
