I wish you had posted some video of clean releases if you had any. That would have made the video even better. The last time I fished for Marlin out of Cabo was in December 2010. Many large schools of fish from 60 to 100 lbs. Lots of fun but they would not take a trolled lure or bait. Belly hooking these fish always makes me feel bad.
@@VMykeV Ike a clean release happens when a fish is released without a hook remaining in it's mouth after a relatively short time on the line. My last two trips to Cabo did not have that criteria when we fished with a local charter boat. Seeing these fish released by cutting the leader with a hook in it's throat or stomach was not a good thing. The hooks used were stainless. I wonder how many of these released fish survived. Many of the charter boats participate in a tagging program. Maybe the fish released with a hook in their throat or stomach survive but I think it is basically bad practice. If fishing for gamefish with live bait one should use carbon steel hooks to reduce the mortality of the "released" fish.
Congrats on the win guys. Finally a video from you guys. I’m sooo stoked to get down to so cal and do some fishing. What sizes Tac’s you running on those?

So when fishing these tournaments you just catch as many as you can, or out of all you catch you keep the biggest one?
Tournaments are usually a size based scoring, aka biggest wins. This video was a for-fun trip to blow off some steam
Are those 20ii
we use 16ii for those marlins.
