Anyone going into nursing,...might want to consider this career instead...nursing can burn many people out. I wrote this during the 2017 year...and nursing informatics graduates now start at over 80K a year,...everywhere. Nurses who "wipe and dipe"....and babysit LPN's and CNA's make 45 to start....everywhere.
Informatics is easier on the mind, spirit and body for longevity...much easier to survive.

yes your smart hated nursing 1 so changing major over to health information technology now guess its similar to health informatics right? I didn't want to be burned out everyone is looking at nursing now for cash but like you said this is better and still unknown but has much prospect looking in the future

On other hand. If its simple, Its not going pay that much in future. A lot of people will like simple stuff.

I see you posted from Upstate NY. Where can a LPN, and especially a CNA work and get 45k a year? That's not how much they are paid in Western and Central NY.

I think he is saying that new grad RNs who "baby sit LPNs and CNA's" start at 45k.
He is correct about nursing burnout but wrong in other areas. First of all not all RNs are great and many go in for the money and stability. There are times the LPNs are saving the RNs tails so don't downplay LPNs like they don't work or not capable of carrying out their job duties in the end RNs and LPNs are NURSES and take the same NCLEX examination. But I'm sure he knows this. 😑

Depends on the school you go to and what level you get into. I would say above the mean salary for any state/are
    a. You shouldn't get into it for the money though.

I am doing my M.D 2 years to graduate ( 4th and the internship) however, i am considering a career in medical informatics field since i am also an iOS developer as well.
So my question is, is it necessary to do the internship or the USMLE in order to apply for a master degree in MI?

what would you say to someone who is a M.D and at the same time has a very strong passion in integrating IT into medicine let it be devices/data management or analytics. in that case would it be rational for him to apply for a post-grad program in that matter?
and what other options for people with that kind of interests, i'm talking about M.D/IT specialities.!

The only downside to all this is that the more 'well-oiled' the machine becomes the more it becomes a machine routing people through a fixed algorithm-based and standardized-based system of care and less and less able to address or heed to the individual needs of the patient. .for instance, aspects of lifestyle not covered by questions present in the forms are sometimes at the core of the patient's individual issue and require innovative, individualized analysis and thoughtfully crafted proposed solutions.
