- Hey guys, so I decided to go full bolt ons e-85 on my honda civic 1.5t CVT! In today's video, I race a 2020 Si and 2017 Hatchback 6MT with the same exact mods, which is full bolt ons e-85 custom tuned. However all of our cars are tuned on e-30! So, which one is faster? Civics are basically build it yourself cars. Honda tune the engine slow on purpose but makes them so they can be tuned. I love civics because they handle so damn well and they are built so well. A civic can be an economy car or a race car. These cars hold their value too n just beautiful cars too. I could go on n on on why I love these cars!

Looks plenty of fun quick but for reliability reasons, I’ll keep mine stock. I’ll be purchasing a 3rd Gen coyote instead for speed. Nice setup tho 👍🏼
I would say intake and e30 tune is reliable.
Boltons are easy and won't affect reliability on a Honda

I got intercooler and prl hi flow filter w/pipe(no tune) on my sport hatch. Ima delivery driver put 30k hard miles on my car in 8 months. I engine brake and everything(not often) first 15k mikes I went WOT on the reg. Car still seems fine but ima try to break it before my 100k warranty

* intercooler + pinpig
I want to install prl flex fuel kit! My question is this
Do I need to do any other modification apart from reprogramming? to be able to use ethanol?

Would an upgraded turbo kill the cvt or would it be fine
According to my tuner Drob, he said it would actually help the cvt, because it will reduce the torque and increase hp. Since the cvt is not able to handle much torque.
If it’s an accord 1.5t make sure you ask first because accord 1.5t has higher compression
Mines EXACLTY like urs but I don’t got a turbo mines a cvt coupe but it says vteck on it and it only has 2 gears as well would the same mods work for it?

how much does the rev 9 intercooler decrease temps by ?
Not exactly sure, but it does the job. I had my tuner Drobimw check that on our datalogs and we didn’t go into detail on it, but he said it keeps the temps down really good.

What happens if you have a cvt with paddle shifters but you don’t use the paddle shifters… still worse than the cvt without paddle shifters?
If you dont use them it will be more reliable!

cvt is quick but cvt is sadly proven that it wont hold up over all that power in the long run where a MT will
Very true but the CVT held very well with these mods. A bigger turbo would help it more since it reduces torque.

Very solid economy car when built and tuned 🔥 I definitely gotta work on my shifting lol I shift too slow (did not power shift) gotta make the stock clutch last lol

Flat foot shifting bro. You can’t afford to lose boost between shifts especially racing against a CVT that always stays in the optimal RPM the whole race
Good runs Benny! The shifting was solid, but you would definitely have an advantage if you power shifted! Which isn’t so good for the clutch. I only wish I had gears too so I can maximize torque/hp on all around, but not having gears is what keeps my CVT reliable. 🙏🏻
@@d0mochi Agreed! I am at a disadvantage tho with no paddle shifters and a lot less torque due to that, but the CVT does have the advantage of optimal rpm the whole race! 🙌🏻
The cvt is gonna gain a little on each shift no matter how good the driver is shifting though. 3 shifts could equal a whole cars length even at its best LOL.
